I have known Paul for several years, and he has done several jobs for me! I was surprised to see negative reviews here on Google when I have had very good success with them. Every time we have done a job or I had problems they were very quick to remedy any issues and gave me a very professional and quality product! I’ve used them in my home and I will continue to use them! ?

I would not recommend this company. This was my 3rd experience with them. The first was just great. Good pricing on lv install. The crew that came was good and fast. Second time I had them do a tile backsplash in the basement kitchenette. The tiler they sent was not skilled. He did an adequate job but not a skillful job. I didn't complain at that time, but was annoyed it was a job done only mediocrely. This last time, I needed my kitchen floor redone after water damaged the laminate floor that was there. I chose to do tile. When the sales guy came, ****, he was really nice. Liked him a lot. and their prices were lower than other bids. At the time I was considering using a 8x4 size tile which constituted and upgrade charge for smaller tile, $214. Well in the end, I used 13x13 tile. I tried to reach the sales guy prior to install to tell him but he never responded. Well, the day of tile install I messaged the project manager I was assigned, *****, to tell her I needed the $214 up charge on tile size removed. She agreed to take off that charge. She sent me an updated invoice that showed the removal of the $214. I signed and returned, but failed to keep a copy for myself. After it was signed I couldn't get back to the document at all. We have called and texted about the $214 refund 5 times. No one ever returns our calls or texts. My advice if you use them...make zero order changes after the sales invoice is signed (which is hard to do in construction). Expect mediocre tradesmen to do the work. And expect very little communication from their so-called project managers. Also, once they charge your card (and they charge half up front and the other half the day the job starts - so if you don't like their work you have no recourse because you already paid in full) you won't be able to get a hold of them at all. Never again will I use this company. Pay an extra 20% to better installers. Less headache that way.

My wife hired this company to install LVT in our basement. I was worried that they would not grind the floor highspots before putting down leveling epoxy. So the night before I called Paul Turpin the salesman to make sure the highspots would get ground down. He ensured me it would but when I got home from work. The guy just poured several gallons of leveler in my hallways and had huge slopes into the rooms. After some very angry phone calls he did his best to fix the mistake. However, the company forced me to pay for all The leveler that was now being ground off and filling my house with dust. I would never hire or recommend this company.Service: Laminate floor installation

Terrible workmanship, terrible customer service. The owner was rude and belligerent. Don't waste your time and money.

Utah Flooring is not professional. They would promise you the world to sign up with them. Our experience job was not completed on time my job was supposed to be done Nov 19 and now it's going to the new year. This company does not have its own crew they hire freelance workers who do not care about the job. The company sends random installers who do not know where to pick up. Our job has been a mess from the beginning. There is no leadership or proper communication.

We scheduled to have our floors done with Utah Flooring and Design . They sent an email on Nov. 14th advising that their installers would be on site 11/15 @ 9:00 a.m. with a two hr window. At 11:00 a.m. they had not arrived. After numerous calls and texts to their office and to the sales individual who scheduled the event who stated he would call us back (as of 11/22 we still have not heard from him) , we received a call in the afternoon stating that they were behind and would not be coming on the 15th. This after we took time off of work for 1/2 day. We received an email on the 15th indicating that they would be arriving at 1:00 p.m. on the 16th. At 9:00 a.m. on the 16th they contacted us to say the installers were done and would be at our home at 9:30 a.m. We work away from home, so again had to take time off to meet the installers. The work completed was done well, however I would caution anyone in working with their offices. They do not put the customers needs first and will not return text messages, phone calls or emails and make no effort to proactively advise the customer of changes to schedules, etc.

Never showed to do the install, yet charged my card. Very poor communication. I cancelled the order and asked for a full refund, but unclear that I'll get one. Very frustrating to empty rooms for an installation and have no one show up.Service: Install flooring

We contracted Utah flooring and design to lay carpet that we purchased from another vendor. They did an absolute horrible job. It was a two day installation and they took the entire payment without finishing the job and now are unresponsive and won't return any form of communication. We are considering hiring a lawyer to deal with this company. No one should use them!!

Don't bother with this company unless you are willing to be disappointed over and over by unkept commitments and inconvenienced by delays and rescheduling. Not to mention that you have to be willing to foot the bill when their delays mean you pay to extend your storage pod and extended living arrangements. Their initial consultations are pleasant, timely, and customer friendly. That's how they get your deposit! But when it comes down to them doing the actual work, expect them to do very minimal to keep their commitment. They delayed in EVERY step of the way. Here's how it played out in our situation: (1) Demolition of old flooring - delayed ONE DAY (2) demolition done, told to wait FIVE MORE DAYS to get a crew to install new flooring (3) wait FIVE days, then crew calls in sick the day they're supposed to show. Project manager says they can't come for another TWO WEEKS! (4) after much complaining through text and unanswered calls, they finally say they can have a crew come in ONE WEEK. (5) FINALLY get one guy to install the flooring. Happy, except they don't care about making your whole house coated in dust. (6) Now wait to have carpet installed on steps. After waiting for THREE NO-SHOWS and a weekend pass by, we finally get someone to come do carpet at 6:30PM. They work until 9PM, say "I'm done" in an obviously "I don't care, I want to go home" tone (which I don't blame him). Leaving all these carpet scraps for ME to vacuum and sweep. I question how much quality installation was done obviously. What ended up promising to be a two week project turned into a MONTH! Never once did they directly take our call to hear our complaints. People write these long one star reviews for a reason. So much to tell about how DISAPPOINTING this whole experience was. On par with the worst. And they have our money now. At least I have a floor.

On July 8, 2021 I spoke with Cameron Turpin in my home regarding installation of luxury vinyl tile. We decided to proceed with the install. I made a deposit of $451.75 on my Visa card. My plans changed, and the next day, July 9, 2021, I called Cameron Turpin and informed him I no longer wanted to proceed with the installation, and I wanted him to refund the deposit of $451.75 back to my Visa. He said that was no problem, and he would see that the money was refunded. It is now September 7th, two months later, and no refund has been made. I have called Utah Flooring & Design at (801) 895-2115 and Home Solutionz at (480) 470-4517 multiple times over the past two months inquiring about the refund. Each time I was promised that someone would call me back to handle the refund, but no one ever called. Today, September 7, 2021, I again called (801) 895-2115 and was told that someone would call me regarding the matter. Nobody called. Now, when I call either number above, I am placed on a recorded message then hung up on. For a while I thought the two companies above were just inept, but now it's apparent they are fraudulent. I will now have to proceed with reporting them both to the Better Business Bureau, leaving poor reviews on Google and Yelp to warn others about their practices, and contacting Visa to have my deposit refunded. If you don't want to endure this kind of service, don't use Home Solutionz or Utah Flooring & Design for any flooring installations. They're crooks!

The only reason they're getting 2 stars is because the installers are amazing. The office people, communication, and administration of the project was some of the worst I've ever encountered. I was referred to Utah Flooring by a friend who had a good experience with them and I had all of the flooring in my condo replaced. Someone came out to measure and provide a quote. It took a month from when they measured to when they were able to install, but that was fine. I know everyone is busy right now. The demo and install went off almost without a hitch. It turns out they didn't order enough transitions from the supplier, so I was left with new floors that were missing transitions. The installer said it was no problem, they'd get it ordered and the office would schedule a time to come out and put those on. That's where the problems begin. The installer did the right thing and got the parts ordered. But the office never followed up to even pick up the parts - let alone call me to schedule. Weeks go by without a word. I called about 5 times over 2 weeks, constantly getting punted with "let me talk to so and so and get back to you" but of course they never got back to me. I kept following up and kept getting the same response. Finally, 7 weeks after my floors had been installed, and 2 weeks of consistent calling trying to get an office person to tell me WTF is going on, I'd had it. The lady answered the phone and I said "hello it's me again calling to check on my transitions because no one is getting back to me". She put me on hold for 10 minutes. I gave up and hung up. I called back. No one answered - just kept me on hold for another 10 min. The line would click like someone had answered but I'd immediately be back on hold music. I had time to kill, so I waited. One of the times the phone clicked a girl muffled "oh my GOD" and put me right back on hold. That's when I realized they were intentionally not answering my call. I hung up after a few more minutes and called back from a new number. Miraculously, they answered immediately. At that point I asked for Jason (owner who I'd talked to before). They didn't transfer me to him. They transferred me to their generic voicemail. But whatever. I left a strongly worded message saying this was unacceptable and they needed to fix this. Within a couple hours, another lady called back and I was on the schedule to get the transitions fixed. I have never in my life worked with such rude and unprofessional office staff. So, fast forward to when the transitions get fixed. Again the installer was awesome and did a great job. The bratty office girls only have a job because the installers do such incredible work. Anyway, I thought it was over. But then I check my credit card and they've charged me $330 extra. I never signed a change order. No one mentioned an extra charge - in fact I was specifically told that they would cover coming out again for the transition fix because it was their fault for not ordering it in the first place. I've begun the agonizing process of calling them to ask WTF all over again. But at this point, I'll dispute it with my credit card company before wasting hours and weeks calling repeatedly. Overall I like how the floors turned out, which is the only thing keeping them above 1 star. The process was full of headaches, d*** mistakes, and refusal to take accountability on their part. I have another house I was going to replace the flooring in, but I would never work with them again. Their office staff absolutely ruined my opinion of them.

Do not use this company. Utah Flooring and Design began work installing an oak wood floor in our home almost a month ago. From the beginning they did not show up as scheduled. Initially, they didn't have enough wood for the delivery. Then they didn't deliver enough wood and tried to charge us for more wood (at a much higher price) because they said that they had measured wrong. The originial measurement was correct and they eventually removed that extra charge. When the floor finally was laid down, many pieces of the wood had holes in it, had broken corners, or were split. The filler that was used to patch the flooring did not match the wood. The result was disapointing and certainly not worth the $6000 we had contracted to pay for it. Since no one would answer our texts or phone calls, we drove to the Midvale office and convinced an employee there to send someone out to look at the floor. When the installer came back to mark the inferior pieces of wood, he said there was so many bad pieces that the whole floor would need to be replaced. We still have not resolved the issue. We had paid 50% down when we contracted with the company. They charged our credit card for the rest of the project on the day that they began the installation. We have disputed the credit card charge until the issue is resolved. Unfortunately, Amy, our project manager, does not answer our phone calls or texts. In the meantime, we have lived without our main living area since the middle of July.

In the beginning they were great. The flooring itself is very nice but...When it came to communication and installation it's been a joke. Our flooring project started in May and we are still missing pieces and our stairs are lifting (it's now the end of July). No one seems to have a clue what they are doing. The installers either showed up extremely late or not at all. For the past month we have been trying to get someone out to finish and fix things but unable to get in contact with anyone. The installers left their McDonald's trash, soda cans as well as speaking to each other about "women" in a not so positive way! Not to mention blaring extremely explicit music through the entire house while our son was there! What has been happening is just wrong! Not only was our original flooring no longer available, we got a "Deal" by having to pay an additional $500+ for "higher end" flooring I DO NOT recommend Utah Flooring.

Utah Flooring provided excellent service. We had a full basement floor to install and bought our vinyl plank flooring from Floor and Decor, Utah Flooring was the contractor they recommended. Our installers, Stephen and Skyler were fantastic. They worked very hard to ensure that our flooring was installed correctly. They cleaned everything up and made sure that we were satisfied. They finished ahead of schedule and we couldn't be more satisfied. As an accomplished DIY'er I know good work when I see it and there was nothing not done incorrectly. These guys deserve a bonus. Also the project manager was Amy and the job was completed ahead of schedule thanks to her.
