We had a wonderful time during our 3 night stay. The resort has been overhauled. The room was comfortable, the landscaped grounds were enjoyable to walk and the outdoor pools were awesome. Although were not golfers the course looked nice. The bar and restaurant staff was next level. We will be back!

We stayed here 5 years ago on honeymoon. Recently the entire property was gutted and lost every bit of its charm. Now it feels like a big farmhouse resort with no original charm and it's unrecognizable

First off it's not a resort as they claim, there are zero amenities on property and the only attraction is the crater which is owned by another company who will charge you full price despite you staying at the place. They charged me an extra 2 nights of booking even though they kicked my girlfriend and I out saying they were at capacity ( they weren't and we booked open rooms prior, plus we went back the next day and our exact room was vacant) they will kick you out despite reservations, (we were told it was for a golf outing but the outing was 4 days away) this should be noted as your booking means nothing to the homestead and they'll gladly kick you oh the street with a smile (some vacation). the zermatt is very nice to stay so go there instead. The homesteads food was sub par, we had a maid come into our room (they had zero do not disturb signs) and throw out all our food, they wellness checked us for no reason at all coming ibto the room with 2 random people to look around at me and my gf belgonings, stating they have to search the room every week long stay. This place is honestly like strict step parents watching your every move. I guess it's very Mormon and they hate Christians or something, perhaps it was because we smoke cogarettes and had a couple of mikes hard lemonade on the porch i don't know. The staff we became friendly with at the zermatt had nothing nice to say about the homestead staff and resort either, supposedly it has a reputation in midway, the pool had rusty nails and broken concrete around it (i sliced my foot on one, thank God I'm up to date on tetanus but i woudlnt bring kids to the pool with those hazards) the whole "resort" which is really a property/hotel not a resort (0 amenities) was under construction with nothing taped off for safety (child hazard) dirt and construction tools/garbage were everywhere nothing was open to use or enjoy, the workers sat on our porch drinking beer during lunch break and doing other drugs inside their work vehicles . Honeslty stay away from the homestead, go to the zermatt, it's so much friendlier consistent and over inviting (plus their restaurant is phenomenal, little price but the best steak you'll eat). The homestead was honeslty a slap in the face, terrible place with horrible staff, it would do midway a favor to become something else with an entire new staff. I mean they kick you out with a superior complex meanwhile they have construction workers sniffing coke (or some other white powder from a bag) in their trucks (witnessed in disbelief when we parked next to one of the pickup trucks) they were also drinking beer on the steps and porch during lunch and leaving garbage, everything is under work with no amenities, the maids just throw your stuff out...it was hardly relaxing and quite surprising to say the least
Oh and the TV didn't work for 2 days

I am sad to say that the new owners have let the quality of service here be severely degraded. The website did not work properly using Firefox and as a result I had to use a 3rd party booking site, which did not give me the "celebration" package for my wife's birthday. When I inquired at the front desk, they would not honor my wish. I paid THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-TWO DOLLARS for a room with 2 Queen sized beds, but the beds were not queen sized. They were basically wide twins. I have only paid that much for a hotel room one other time in my life and we basically got a clean room with 2 beds - that's it. We stayed at Homestead with the previous owners and it was a lovely, enjoyable experience. Although it seems incredibly simplistic, being able to sit on a porch in a comfy chair with a cup of coffee and enjoying the scenic mountains is itself worth a LOT OF MONEY to a city dweller. But for $382.37 WE DID NOT GET THIS. There was no porch and there was no comfy chair. We got screwed. The door to the unit would not open unless we pushed hard enough to break the door (we didn't, but we pushed that hard). The faucets did not turn the correct direction. There was no soap dish. we complained to the manager and he promised us a $100 credit. The credit never came. I urge you to stay across the street at the Zermatt. It's owned by the previous owners of Homestead and is MUCH BETTER.
Don't be fooled by the fact that the manager responded to this post. I emailed him TWICE and he never actually responded. So it was just his ploy to mitigate the review.

Such a beautiful location, fantastic rooms, great resort. It was still under construction but I can see what the finished result will be, and it’s going to be amazing. The pools are amazing also. I wish there were more food options. All staff was very nice and helpful.

Yeah cool for a minute but leave after that minute. Don't hope you can have more than four beers and yeah it's an inbred establishment I'd rather rot in Layton honestly

Love the resort & location. Very beatiful.
The location at the base of the mountains in Midway is fantastic.
The new pool facility is perfect for a relaxing afternoon and the golf course was in great condition.
There was an issue in my billing, but the GM after hearing of the issue reached out and corrected the issue personally.
I recommend going and enjoying the area and the facilities.

10/10 recommend this resort! Exceeded our expectations! Rooms are beautiful, clean and comfy. Coffee/ice cream house on site was delicious, as was the 1886 Grill and Simon’s Restaurant. Golf course was fun and beautiful. Crater experience is wonderful. We will be sharing this place will friends and family and hope we can visit again very soon:)
Only negative: golf course needs refreshments and water refill locations. Service was overall good but a few rude service staff. We did get them to lighten up with some jokes and kindness though ?. Maybe they just were having a bad day. Again, overall great!

We have stayed at the Homestead Resort several times. In comparison to other stays, this was very disappointing.
1) My wife and I had gone on a bike ride. When we went into the unit, we went into the unit and were a little chilled. The air conditioner was on. I tried to adjust it and found that it was locked out so that I couldn't adjust it.
2) That evening we went to Simons for dinner. We were seated and brought water. A few minutes later our waiter came and told us that the cook never showed up and they were trying to find another cook.
3) Check out time the next morning was at 11:00 AM. We had taken our luggage to our car. My wife was watching a movie that had 10 minutes left. Right at 11:00 the power to the TV went off so she didn't get to watch the end.
All in all, it was one poor experience after another.

We have stayed at another resort in the area multiple times, but decided to stay at the Homestead. The room was clean, the linens and bed were luxurious. I gave my rating of only three stars because of the amenities in the room. There are no phones in any of the rooms, so if you need assistance you have to leave your room and walk down to the lobby to get assistance. Also in our room there wasn't any chairs, closet, and most importantly a luggage rack. We had to put our bags on the ironing board. The location is incredible, and we rented a UTV from Aventourage which is located right on the Homestead property. Overall our stay was great. The newly renovated pools are beautiful as well.
Rooms: There are no phones in any of the rooms, also there was no chairs or a luggage rack in our room.
Nearby activities: Incredible trails for hiking, biking and UTV riding.

Staff was really nice and helpful. Our friend group was being loud by one of their campfires and instead of asking us to stop they just relocated us and allowed us to continue to have a great time!

The room renovations are so nice and the pools are amazing.
