Initial impression: the workers are super friendly and don't make you feel like your inconveniencing them when you ask questions. Selection of fresh and salt water is good. They sell equipment and parts for the hobby which some store don't. After I cycle my tank I'll be back to purchase from this store.

I live clear down town closer to bountiful. I have been to this store a few to me and they carry almost everything of the brand that I like and use. I ran over there today needing medication. drove through the rain hoping to get there beforehand re they close. well I made it at 6:45 but they were closed anyway. There sign says they close a 7. very frustrating to get there after driving all that way to have them closed when they should be open. the lights were still off n and there was still a car there but they wouldn't open the door. I won't waste my time, or gas again here since they don't want my business

Purchased a tank after confirming pricing. After 3 days they texted me saying pricing went up $200 and I would need to pay the difference. After several calls and waiting for responses, I went in later that day only to be told that pricing had gone up another almost $200 (over $400 what I originally paid for a 120g tank) . Most of the staff was very unhelpful and nobody knows what the real price of most of the items are.0/5 stars and a big waste of time. Ended up purchasing tank from the Waterfront and it was a flawless experience.

I have been here a few times, the staff here is helpful, knowledgeable, and honest to the point of even letting me know of other fish stores where I could get what I was looking for. Half the store is live fish and plants and the other half is tanks and supplies. They carry both freshwater and saltwater fish, critters, and plants.

I've been going here for at least a dozen years. Great selection and staff that can assist you in anything aquatic. I've kept saltwater coral /reef and freshwater fish and plants. They do a proper quartine on all new fish and coral. Years ago, they helped me seed my tank when I moved here. Kickstart my current fishtank that's 12 years old. I like this place for anything alive as they take great care of their live goods. They don't churn fish / plants. Also, their systems are all self contained so they don't spread diseases from tank to tank like the big box stores that is just one big system, here they are self-contained fish/plants in each tank.

My mom and I used to come here all the time when she had a saltwater tank. We had nothing but good experiences. My mom sold her tank eventually, and I moved to Sandy so I just wasn’t close enough to come as often (even though I have a planted freshwater tank).Man, have I missed it! I needed more Flourish and none of the chain pet stores near me had it in stock, so I decided to make the trip to Fish 4 U. How I’ve missed out! Such a great local, mom n pop fish store. All the employees were knowledgeable and attentive. It’s so great to see such a great variety of well cared for fish. Plus, prices were great too! Both on items and living things.Came for supplies, and I ended up leaving with a natural-patterned weather loach I had no plans on getting (plus the Flourish)! He’s a great addition, seems very healthy and lively, ate well, and my other loaches have already embraced him in a loach cuddle pile.

Great place to get a tank started or find some high-quality livestock. Staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. I've never been oversold on equipment or product.

I was so so happy with this shop, I moved from Los Angeles and have yet to find a decent fish store, but this is spot on. It has so many different fish, common and rare, interesting and exotic stuff. They also had a HUGE selection of decor, plants (live and artificial), chemicals and all seachem products, they had tanks, lights, lids, heaters, everything you could want. It really was an awesome store. I 100% am recommending this shop to everyone. My only complaint would be the shop was a bit cluttered, they were cleaning tanks and stuff, so the aisles were full of hoses and stuff, but I fully understand that, so it doesn't bother me.

Fish 4 U has such a wonderful atmosphere. Everything from the friendly and knowledgeable staff, to the pristine fish tanks, and to the huge variety of fish that you won't find at just any pet store comes together to create the ultimate experience for any aquarist. 10/10 would recommend

Such a great store. Saw fish here that I honestly didn't know existed. All of the tanks seemed meticulously looked after and it made me wish I lived way closer than I do so I could justify the gas. It's honestly an amazing store. They have way more chemicals and types of food, substrate, medications, and equipment than any other store I've seen in Utah. The vareity of livestock and aquarium supplies is astounding for such a little store. Honestly such an impressive location.

My wife and I were in the area a few weeks ago and were shocked by the state of the tanks in this place. So shocked that she insisted I write a review. Some saltwater tanks were completely overgrown with what looked like coralline algae to the point where they had become thick and solid-looking carpets. The only other time I have seen it that bad was in a friend's tank that had not been cared for in over a year.Several freshwater tanks had so much green dust algae that it was hard to see into the tanks, which is pitiful considering that's a 10 second wipe that one of the few employees could have done instead of standing around chatting. There were also some freshwater tanks with cyanobacteria, so another sign of neglect. It was nice to see that they had marked certain fish as expert level, but I'm not sure I would trust their advice considering the states of the tanks. The fish also varied from average to very overpriced.

I love Fish 4 U! I frequent them quite often as they are the best local fish store in the Salt Lake Area. I’ve always had amazing experiences there, as all of the employees are super friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to give aquarium advice even if you aren’t purchasing anything from the store. I have two tanks; a 2.5 gallon that is a cherry shrimp and nerite/mystery snail only tank, and a 5 gallon that contains a betta (that I did not get from Fish 4 U), amano shrimp, and a mystery snail. I’ve purchased all of my snails and cherry/amano shrimp from Fish 4 U, and they’re all still doing great, even months after adding them to my tanks, and many of the shrimp have gotten huge! I also purchased multiple plants from them, including an amazon sword, a standard java fern, and a dwarf saggitaria. I fertilize using Aquarium Co-Op Easy Green which definitely has something to do with the quick growth, but all of the plants are absolutely exploding! They sell good quality, healthy plants that will grow into your tank quite nicely with the use of some good fertilizer. Other than a little bit of melt on my amazon sword as it was initially too tall for the 5 gallon I planted it in, all of the plants I’ve bought have done absolutely spectacularly and haven’t melted back at all. I also really love that they quarantine all of their fish before selling them, so I know that I’m receiving fish that are healthy and won’t infect my other tank inhabitants with worms or parasitic diseases. Overall, I’m always impressed with the quality of fish and plants Fish 4 U sells, and I’ve always felt so welcomed and looked after while I’m in the store! Support local, support Fish 4 U! You won’t regret it.

They always have a good variety of fish and plants. I never have any live purchases die on the way home like what happens at other places. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They don't sell axolotls, but they still help me pick out plants and feeders for mine
