They didn't even try to find the right person before sending out a wage garnishment. Due to their lack of effort, now I have to deal with the fallout. Disappointingly low effort work from them and their attorney.

The staff is friendly and honest. The people you deal with over the phone are just as good. I wouldn't recommend borrowing from here though. The interest is extremely high. If you miss a payment they're fine to work with you and that's all great but maybe just short of a few cents goes towards your principal. Which it saves you from default but it can possibly begin a relentless cycle of paying late that can turn a few hundred dollar into thousands. This happened to me so eventually I just stopped paying and made the choice to have my day in court. I was threatened over the phone that I would be taken to court. Which was fine with me because I'd at least stop interest from accumulating. A few months went by. I was at work when I was handed a letter from the courts in Orem for a garnishment. There never is any court date. You're threatened that you'll be taken to court but there's a loophole in the court system only in Orem county that allows these places to garnish your income without a proper hearing. Which is why it was filed there and not salt lake. Look it up on Google you'll be shocked when you read how these crooks get away with this. The thing is is yes I fell behind and for good cause. They worked with me. But when I decided to stop before I paid them an enormous amount of money for the tiny loan they would no longer have it any other way but there's and I found out the hard way why. I'm clear of my garnishment now. It's been fully repaid. I think they made around three grand off the few hundred I borrowed. Don't subject yourself to this place or any place like it. Just figure out another way. You're playing Russian roulette when you walk through that door. I had no reasoning why my payments wouldn't have been made in time and the unimaginable happened. Just stay away from this place cause you may pay dearly for it in the end. The three stars is for the girls at the office

This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with. They are highly unprofessional.
I came in for a loan, and filled out the paperwork. They started to process it, and made a phone call to their "boss". After 10 minutes of waiting, they told me that their "boss" wanted to talk to me.
I was interrogated on the phone by someone who did not introduce themself to me, and asked me why I wanted to get the loan, and to repeat the information I'd already put down on paper, without looking at it, as if to catch me in a lie.
After explaining myself (to get a loan for $500, interest rate over 400%) I was finally able to walk out the door with a check for $500. The process took almost 3 hours of my time. I should have just gone to a payday loan store instead. Would have saved time and hassle.
The only reason I went to Mountain Loan Centers, was because they advertised to be less expensive than Payday loan places (by about 8%) and that they would beat their loan cost if they weren't lower (by .5%). They also advertised on the radio, and the front of their building, $7 for your first payment, which after my loan was processed and finalized, was told wasn't the case.
For some reason, after my loan was paid off, and after all the problems I had the first time, I went back to them for another loan, I suppose with the mindset that it was just that location. I went to the SLC location this time, instead of the Orem/Provo area location, like I did the first time. While paying off this loan, I'd lost my job and was starting a new one, but was going to be without pay for one pay period. I called them to ask for any assistance or options they might have, and to let them know I might be late. The first girl I talked to hung up on me because she didn't like that I was upset when she gave me a snotty tone, asking me "What do you think we're going to do for you? You took the loan out, you owe us the money." I then asked to speak to her boss when I called back. I got a call from a "Shawn" later that day, and explained my situation. He said, "I don't care how I get my money, but one way or another I'm going to get it. I don't care if we have to go to court. I'm not worried about getting it back, you signed a contract." Keep in mind, I never indicated I was going to stop paying them, or that I couldn't pay the loan back. I simply called to tell them I would be late on a payment, and if that would cause any kind of an issue. I requested help with any kind of fees that might be associated.
After much arguing, he lowered my payment that month from $110 to $89, which really did not help at all. I still obviously owed them the entire balance, which I promply paid off, in full, with my first paycheck.
I have not been back since, and I would highly recommend that you do not put yourself through trying to do business with this terrible company.

The customer service and business is by far the worst in the industry. When my paycheck got delayed by 1 Day, I had two people over the next several days one which Was the loan center manager verbally threaten to come after me and accused me of stealing for her company.... first off if I was trying to "steal money" I wouldn't have even bothered to call and inform them I'd be one day late due to my check being late which was out of my control. The woman continued to call, harass and threaten to have someone come after me. I don't know what kind of a crazy B*+ch they have running this company, but that is unprofessional in every way possible and completely uncalled for! NEVER DO BUSINEDD WITH THIS COMPANY. They're nothing but a little wannabe mom & pop Mafia!

I would recommend any other loan center. Customer service was horrible, their parking is very cramped and they don't clear the snow that then becomes ice that my wife and I almost fell on.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!!!!!! They are great to get money from if you don't care about getting ripped off!!!!! How is it when you go in and make your payments ON TIME your balance gets higher?! That doesn't make sense! Don't even get me started on their customer service! When you call to figure it out you get chuckled at and treated like dirt! Then you ask to speak to a supervisor and they treat you worse then their employees! If you have a loan with them KEEP RECORD OF EVERYTHING AND CHECK YOUR AMOUNTS!!!!!

Do not get a loan from this company unless you can pay it back with in 1 week, the balance balloons and you will regret it. The people in the payment center are completely unwilling to work with you on any level.

I needed $700 quick to keep the utilities on after a roomate screwe'd me over. I'm a sole contractor working for a business who usually pays me with personal checks. I can prove my income on bank statements but that wouldn't work so the lady working the front desk told me to have my boss make me two paycheck stubs that reflect my actual earnings... so I did and got the loan. My first payment was due on a Sunday (which they were closed) so I called and made sure it was OK if I came in the next day, and she said "yes that will be just fine." I was actually going to pay it off completely but when I came in on that monday they told me since it was late my interest went from 200% to 600%. And my payoff went from 702$ (because your "first payment was 2$) to over $1000. Legally they have have to honor anything their employees tell us even if it is wrong, so I refused and told them I could pay them the 702$ and that's it. They record all the phone calls so I had them find the recording of my conversation with their employee just a few days earlier. They found the recording, admitted she said that it was OK, and said she was wrong but wouldn't let me pay it off without the added interest. So I told them to take me to court. The owner called me and arranged three months of $300 payments (making my total payoff $900). I agreed only because the 3 payments would make it easier for me. .So I go in to make the first $300 payment and the owner says "wait here, I'm calling the police. Your paycheck stubs were fraudulent." So I gave them the finger and left without paying them anything. They HARASSED me, my boss, my coworkers and family for months, being EXTREMELY rude, threatening lawsuits and demanding payments. They ended up sueing for $3300. Fine... im filing bankruptcy. Have fun with that. I won't waste a penny on them, not even the pay a lawyer to fight it. Oh and I Never heard from the police... I even have 2 friends that used to work for them and they admitted the company does this stuff on purpose to get more money out of people (probably why I never heard from the police). No wonder how the guy drives a black Bentley haha. Don't go here. EVER.
