Sorrel has missed the mark- rooms, property and restaurant is in need of a facelift.
Our room had an air filter in the floor vent- it was black and dated 2023, we stayed there late October 2024. The wall corners had lots of gnat nests.
Dinner was not acceptable. Being so remote the expectation was we would enjoy high end dinners with cocktails at this luxury resort. That surely was not our experience. The meal was one the worst meals we’ve ever had. Subsequently we changed our daily schedule to have early dinners off site so we weren't driving back the 25 minutes to this remote location in the dark. Not the experience we expected for a remote luxury resort.

A cat lives in the garden and he Is bound all day and night long.
It seems that there isn't an animal protection institution.
It's really inhuman
Noteworthy details: Inhuman

Free the cat tied to a rope!
This is ridiculously bad! A small cat being tied to a rope for no reasons! Free that little creature, she/he doesn’t deserve it.
It is also really bad for your reputation.
Let someone nice adopt him/her and life will be easier for everyone. PLEASE !
Noteworthy details: Free that cat!

We stayed for three nights at Sorrel River Ranch and had a wonderful time. The place is located in a very quiet and pleasant area in Moab, near the river. Unfortunately, we want to report something that deeply affected us and truly broke our hearts. From the very beginning, we noticed a kitten on their property tied with a rope. We thought it was a temporary situation, just to let him get some fresh air, but then we learned from the reception that the cat belongs to one of their employees, and it’s his choice to keep the cat tied up day and night. The cat used to be free, but since it disturbed customers because it is very affectionate and outgoing, they decided to keep it tied up ALL DAY LONG. It has everything it needs to survive, but I repeat, it is TIED UP! During our three nights and four days there, we saw it in that condition, and it even cried when we passed by to visit it. We expressed our discontent at the reception at least a couple of times, but for some reason, there seems to be no solution since the cat belongs to one of their employees. I think it is inhumane, cruel, and immoral to do such a thing to an animal, to a poor kitten. So please, do something to free this cat! Moreover, the ranch has other cats that are all free!!! Untie it and let it be free.

I recently stayed at Sorrel River Ranch, and I have to say, the staff truly made my experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was the front desk staff assisting with our every need, the maintenance rep keeping our room efficient, or the restaurant servers offering excellent recommendations with a personal touch, their dedication was remarkable.
The staff at Sorrel River Ranch genuinely care about creating a memorable experience for their guests. They took the time to engage with us, sharing local tips and stories that made our stay even more enriching. It was clear that they not only love what they do but also take pride in showcasing the beauty and charm of this amazing destination. Thank you, Sorrel River Ranch team, for your incredible service and making our trip so special! We can’t wait to return

We got to spend a weekend at Sorrel River Ranch and it was nothing short of amazing! We rode ATVs with Brooke guiding us and she was extremely knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and made us feel extremely safe. Would highly recommend to anyone!

We had a wonderful stay here. When we checked in, the receptionists were very kind and knowledgable. They had our itinerary ready for our stay & took us to our room via golf cart. On the way Aida showed us where we would meet for our hike and where we could go see the animals. When we were ready for dinner, we called and Monique said she was happy to give us a ride to the lodge. The food was out of this world, service spectacular. The views are endless and beautiful from the lodge and from our room. The room was lovely and even had chips and salsa waiting for us when we got there! When it was time to leave, Amy and Francheska assisted us with getting our luggage to our car and another ride on the golf cart! Ericka helped us with an stress-free check out process. We were rushing to make it to our next stop, and she made our check out very quickly and sent us off with a smile. The people, food & location here are so amazing and we cannot wait to be back!
Rooms: Clean, spectacular views, lovely decor, chips and salsa!!!
Food and drinks: YUM YUM YUM, great food, wonderful service!

I love stopping here when I head to Moab. The drive through Castle Valley is very scenic and charming. Sorrel River is a classy oasis and a great place to stop with a guest, or a recommendation for friends in the area. Grab a burger or a fun cocktail and watch the river and enjoy the atmosphere.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sorrel River Ranch. From the easy check-in and reservation with Monique, to the wonderful service from Megan at the bar and pool to the great service at dinner from Tabi! The rooms are comfy and the view of the Colorado river with the red rock background are spectacular. We found everything delivered by the new chef to be fresh, excellently prepared and tasty. We looked at staying in Moab but being a bit further out allowed for a scenic drive to mountain biking each morning and a great opportunity for star gazing. We would highly recommend SRR as your home base while in Moab.
Rooms: The rooms are comfy and the service staff is quick and efficient.
Walkability: There resort is very walkable to explore all aspects of the property. You will want a car to get back and forth to activities.
Food and drinks: There is a new chef and he is doing a fabulous job! Everything was fresh and tasty!

Booked an all day tour three months before our arrival 10 days before our arrival found out they were no longer during tours had to get my own tour. They showed they had farm to table dinners, but when we got there, there were none had items on the menu, but were out of a lot of things would not recommend staying there.
Over priced for what you get and don’t get.
Rooms: Nice rooms
Nearby activities: They have an adventure center with no one working it. Book tour thur the resort months in advance but it was not available and they didn’t give me any notice. I found out week before I arrived and they just gave me a company to call and book my own tour. For what they charge to stay felt they should have booked it.
Food and drinks: The website had farm to table dinner but when we arrived they were not offering any. Some menu items were not available. What was available was very good. On third night we went to town for dinner as were tried of menu item's

We stopped at their mercantile store to get some ice cream. Soft serve was yummy, the shop and merchandise were cute, but holy cow! The prices are ULTRA expensive. $20 for 2 very small soft serve ice cream cones and a Hammonds chocolate bar! Inflation isn’t that high guys.

Breathtakingly beautiful!!! I could have just sat on the front porch swing & rocking chairs starring at the majestic red rocks & listening to the gentle flow of the Colorado River for daaaaaaays, BUT I pulled myself away to enjoy a lovely list of activities around the ranch… horseback riding through winding canyons, an educational guided hike up to Sorrel Ridge, fun on the pickleball/tennis & basketball courts, infrared sauna in the tranquil spa, workouts in the equipment-packed fitness center, lazing by the pool on the expansive sundeck, walking side by side with ducks in the farm & looking skyward to the garden’s towering sunflowers, amusing encounters with Dale the goat in the petting zoo, taking delight in watching the new foals bond with their Mommas in the open fields, wandering through the cottonwood-canopied paths to find the original 1903 homestead, following the gorgeous Labyrinth in meditation, s’mores by the fire at night & the.best.stargazing! Every meal breakfast-lunch-dinner was delicious & presentation pretty with genuine friendly service. Our cabin A1 was very comfortable with all the amenities, living/sitting & dining/kitchen areas with expansive window views from the bathroom deeeeeep clawfoot tub! We enjoyed alllll landscapes in alllll directions from the main Ranch House sitting areas to multiple leveled deck overlooks. I was sad to leave, so we are already looking forward to next time when I will definitely book some ATV-time!

Absolutely NOT worth the money. The staff was extremely friendly and pleasant however everything else was a train wreck. Even after notifying the staff of my issues .. no response. It's really a shame since it's a fantastic location.
