PingreeThis letter is after they cancelled earthquake coverage which made up almost 50% of our premium but yet they raised the rate higher than what it was with earthquake coverage and more than doubled the deductible. This essentially doubles the amount of money they receive for half the coverage. I think its to protect his $600,000 a year salary don't you? On top of this is the fact we learned how dishonest Bear River is with their claims. Read that experience below.Chris is the prime example of horrible customer service, dishonesty and what drives clients to find new insurance providers leaving behind negative reviews. Our claim was undervalued by over 50% and Chris's neglect to communicate in a reasonable time (or at all) was customary. He attempted to only cover 1 slope of our roof, ignored peripheral damages and disregarded Utah matching laws Rule 590-190-13 and two different building codes R903.1 and R908.5. It was a requirement to file a claim against Bear River with the Utah Insurance Department to baby sit Chris and his supervisor Jeff so they would stop ignoring us and comply with the law. Only after filing a complaint did our claim adjust up to the real value around $18k. We made numerous attempts to be contacted by our agent Kim Jensen that never once got back to us. The inspectors hired by Bear River with Intermountain Claims are verifiably dishonest. They intentionally left off claimed items in their report and would fraudulently document their findings such as only putting down 1 turtle vent instead of 5 and denying any damage on the rear slope of our roof despite obvious evidence. They ignored/ left off the fact the rear slope has a west facing gabel with identical damages to the front slope gables. Intermountain claims had to correct their report two times and even still had errors until I submitted a counter report with accurate photos and proof. They even hired a dishonest engineer that blatantly lied about any damages on the rear slope after evidence was already established with the Utah Insurance Department. In the end we got our whole roof replaced and only thanks to Ryan with the Utah Insurance Department. Bear River is not a company of honesty or common sense. They don't seem to understand financial recuperation through client retention. Their failing reputation within Utah is verifiably justified and shared experiences on social platforms echoes Bear Rivers lack of integrity and their corruption.

George Sergakis was aloof and unprofessional. After the initial call on December 27. 2023 with him, I sent emails (December 27, 2023, December 28, 2023. 2 on December 29, 2023.I didn't have any response from December 28, 2023 to January 8, 2024 from George Sergakis. I sent an email to him on January 8, 2024.After not having any response, I called him on January 9, 2024 to inquire if he had looked at the January 8, 2024 email. Although he said he had, I had to call him in order to have any contact.For a period of 13 days, George Sergakis had not called me or contacted me by email.George Sergakis did not offer a rental car to me during the repair process. I was without a car during this time.Additionally, Bear River Insurance declined to pay for the paint blending, stating that it was not necessary.. I had to pay $411.20 for the blending to have the car look nice.I am completely disappointed with George Sergakis and Bear River Insurance.

I had a policy with bear river for a few years, and this year, they hiked the rates up so bad. I’ve never had 1 claim with them. It’s ridiculous. I changed companies so fast. I understand raising a little but by raising about 500 dollars? Give me a break. C ya later bear river.

Absolutely. The worst insurance that I have ever had. We had our home covered for years. Then we had wind and hail damage to our shingles. Which caused damage to the atticand inside the house after them dragging it on for 2 and a half years through 2 winters we had finally had enough .They flat out just refused to help us in any way shape or form and then dropped us for the condition of our roof .how the he'll is this legal. Shame on you utah for allowing business like this to continue rippingpeople off There is so much to list about There integrity and morals .the absolute worst company we have ever dealt with horrible .

I'm an out-of-state student that crashed while under my parents' insurance. Our primary residency is in Utah. BRM has spent over 13 months contesting their obligation to pay, alleging I am not a primary resident of Utah.

My wife and I have been with Bear River for around 30 years without a single claim (other than windshield chip repairs). We then suffered wind damage with unusually strong wind storms (2) and I shyly submitted a claim. Bear River came through and took great care of us. I would highly recommend them to everyone.
