I am suffering terrible billing issue with Central Lab.Terrible things:1. They sent bill very delayed, we received the bill from last December from now, almost 1 year ago's service.2. The Billing department is not trying to help you but provide tons of excuse to let me contact providers, insurance etc.3. Most disgusting thing, exact same type of tests are covered in Intermountain hospitals like Primary Children or American Fork, but no there. Why?? "no reason, contact your insurance".Detailed regarding to #3:We had a pretty good insurance plan in Aetna and was working perfectly on deductible or getting exempt for my son's tests in Intermountain related hospitals till the same tests did here.We had no idea why the tests sent to here from provider, and if the test is not able to covered by insurance, at least we should know it before do it.If you read my review here, be very cautious if your provider will send any Lab Tests here, this will like a trap to you, you may receive some big amount of bill after a year. I wish I could rate a 0 star to this lab department in Intermountain.

Watch out for their billing. You will see no bills from them and then a nasty letter saying you are overdue on paying.

Intermountain Central Laboratory billing is horrible when it comes to trying to reach them regarding a bill. You wait forever during business hours and then the line randomly hangs up on you. I’ve tried several times so I know it’s not just a fluke occurrence.

This lab provided critically negligent test results that put my life at risk. The board of health needs to be investigated and shut down this lab is unbelievable..

Please note that out patient labs are now located within building 2 and building 5. Building 2 open 6 am to 6 pm and building 5 opens at 7 am.Comparatively costly but excellent and reliable services at Intermountain, Murray. In addition, the My Health+ app is very handy and all your test results can be tracked there easily as well. So you are not left wondering about the outcome.

Wish zero stars was an option. Central Laboratory preformed unauthorized tests. Here's the story, the authorized tests were properly bill through my insurance no problems, then 1 year later I receive a bill for an unauthorized test they took upon themselves to do. They did not get mine or my insurance provider’s authorization for this unauthorized test. To top it off they double billed for the exact same test, when I called the Billing department “what a joke”, I was told they had outsourced that test to a 3rd party lab and there was nothing they could do, that I would need to contact the 3rd party lab out the issue, If I didn’t mention the bill was from Central Laboratory not the 3rd party. “UGH!” So, I spend the better part of two weeks calling them, the third party they outsourced to, the original doctor, a Physicist any Anger management professionals that would listen to me... “Just kidding about the last two, or am I?” So no matter what they respond to here with, they were all awful to work with. I’m using the word “work” here in the broadest definition possible. I’m sure you can imagine how well all these conversations went, "hint not well".So my final option was to follow their vaguely outlined disputed debts process, “worthless”. Needless to say no response to the dispute, but yeah, I did get a threat of collections. So, for my peace of mind I paid their almost $1000 extortion fee. Life lesson learned, I will do everything in my power NOT allow any future tests of mine or my families to be sent to Central Lab.

Their billing department is a nightmare. I keep getting invoices for services that have already been paid. Apparently they have different addresses and no one knows where the payment is. I was assured twice they will take care of it but now I got another bill and it shows 60 days late, though I paid it in Oct. Now they tell me there was no payment and they don't have any record of me calling in before. I called in every time I got an erroneous bill. Very slip shot work. They want you to take responsibility for everything and they don't even offer any help. One representative was very rude to me, she constantly cut me off and treated me like a criminal. She just wanted to be in control of the conversation. She must have worked for a collection agency before. Would not recommend this place at all.

This is a review for the billing if the lab. I had lab work done through my OBGYN and they out source to this lab. I have never had any of my medical billing not adjust the bill for my health share as we don't have traditional insurance. They also did not offer any sort of adjustment for having no insurance. There is ZERO flexibility with their billing department per the experience of myself and my representative from my health share program. I do NOT recommend using them and will never use them again myself.

People are nice but it is way too impersonal. Check in by computer then go to another line to do another computer check in. And those stupid pagers...

If you need labs done and you have to have them done at this facility. Do not go to building 2, go to the lab in building 7. I've had three draws within the last two months. I was in and out within 5 minutes. I come here to building 2 and it's now been over an hour. They know my deductible is met, yet still want to double check. They have all my info, DL, insurance info. Yet still wanna scan everything and waste my time.

The lab is great. Every experience I have had going in has been wonderful. The billing is the nightmare.. I've had issues now with two different visits, a year apart. The second time, knowing that it potentially could be a problem, I verified my insurance info and confirmed the removal of the old insurance at the lab draw visit. I also called the week after to follow up and make sure billing would go through correctly. They told me it would and to wait 30 days for it to post on my insurance. My insurance is on top of it. I usually get statements within days accompanied by an email. Nothing posted during the 30 days. I called them back, they said it was billed correctly and they would bill it again and to wait 30 more days. This went on 3 or 4 times over a 6 month period before I called my insurance company who confirmed they never received anything. Fortunately, my insurance finally told me to just have IHC fax me a copy of the statement. I then sent this to my insurance company and they got it paid. That was after the year prior's visit when nothing showed up for 6 months until a statement was mailed out showing they billed the wrong insurance. Ironically, when they switched the insurance that time, the billing went through. The lab visit/experience is great and I wish billing wasn't such a pain so I could go back. I switched to St. Mark's which is setup to bill my insurance correctly.

My problem isn't with the lab it's self, it's will their billing. They have been a living nightmare. They have misapplied bills over and over. Sending accounts that had been paid to collections. And no one has been helpful the dozen times I've called. They don't know what's going as on either so it just keeps getting messier. They even gave my lawyer the runaround. Mind you half of these bills that should have been taken care of by central lab are from 2014. You would think they could figure it out by now. Unfortunately for me, they can't. Even the patient financial services for IHC couldn't figure out what they were doing and was very frustrated and referred me to the supervisor for central lab billing office. I still haven't heard back from them. What a mess of a company.
