I've been a loyal customer here or over ten years. Over twenty suits ordered along with many belts and dress shirts. The level of service has dropped off considerably and customer service and business practices at this location are now shady at best. Manager engages in bait and switch practices and sales associates are either new, incompetent or shady as well.
I went in last week to purchase a belt and specifically inquired about black Friday deals on custom suits. The sales rep told me they would be 30% off for black Friday and that sale would start on Wednesday the night before thanksgiving. I go into the store on black Friday. I confirmed with the sales associate that the suits were 30% off and proceeded to take measurements and get fitted for four suits.
When I go to check out the discount is not present. Sales associate checked with manager and he said there was no sale on the custom suits. I told him I had specifically confirmed the sale on custom suits with two different sales associates on two separate days. Dude could care less and told me to go pound sand in his polite manager way.
Steer clear of this location. There are plenty of other options around the valley or online with trained associates and managers who don't routinely engage with bait and switch practices.

Dominick helped us find over $1700 of AMAZING pieces that all coordinated together. We were about to walk out due to another employee’s neglect and lack of help and go somewhere else until he came to help us! He was PHENOMENAL and should be over training everyone else! It would be to your advantage to have his customer service expertise be the standard of excellence for all Jos A Bank establishments! When we return, it will be with the expectation that we will be treated with the kind of expertise we experienced with Dominick.

Bonnie and Dominick were wonderful to work with, my son needed suits for his mission and it was a rush job. They bent over backwards to help us when we were in a jamb. Thank you again, highly recommend.

Dominic at the Murray, Utah location is a gem! Not only did he recognize me from a prior visit several months back, his level of care and service were remarkable!

Had an amazing experience today. I was looking for a suit for a wedding and kind of waited till the last minute. I believe it was the manager and another associate who helped me. Their customer service was great, as they went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for, while on a price limit. Definitely would recommend to anyone that needs a suit, fancy clothing, or anything like that!

Ivan is a miracle worker!
My fiancé rented his wedding suit from a different store and when we went to pick it up 3 days before the wedding it looked awful.
We went from store to store trying to find a suit to fit him we could buy. No one could do anything for us. We walked into Jos. A Bank and Ivan was AMAZING!! Helping us find exactly what we needed and was even able to get it tailored in time for the wedding!
We were feeling a bit panicked and Ivan made everything better, he was amazing!! So professional and competent.

The manager helped me with a rental fitting today, and honestly, as a woman, it's always so weird going into a men's store for this sort of thing. I cannot tell you how incredibly understanding and kind the manager was for my fitting. Although this is a rental, I will be back for a suit or two in the future, it was that good of an experience.

I wish I had read all of the the reviews before spending money here. I went in to buy some dress shirts and a tuxedo shirt for use with my conducting tuxedo. I was approached right away by a helpful person who seemed like he could have been a manager. He gave great customer service and answered all my questions. Wonderful. Then after making my selections, I thought I would also buy a set of suspenders as well.
I asked another employee where the suspenders are and he led me to them. After telling me that they had suspenders with both clips and button loops, he pointed to one end of the suspenders display and said "these are the less expensive ones," and walked away. Now when I had the original question about suspenders I waited till employees were done helping others. I never heard one employee direct a customer to less expensive merchandise.
Like other negative reviews I read today, it seems that this establishment has a track record of either ignoring people of color or being condescending to them. One review from a person of color said that after struggling to get anyone's attention for help, two missionary type guys walked in and were greeted at the door and instantly helped. There were others who had similar experiences. I am a person of color, and besides my wife, I was the only person of color in the store. Its hard to believe after reading some of the other reviews that it was a coincidence that the only person of color in the store was the only one directed to the least expensive merchandise.
I was bothered by that, but not enough to cancel my purchases. When I got home, the brand new tuxedo shirt I bought, which came with studs and cufflinks was missing a cufflink. I would have tried the shirt on in the store, but I was measured and assured that I had picked out the right size, so I didn't think I would need to check it further than that.
I've called the store twice to voice my concerns over the missing item and the treatment I received in the store. Both times no one answered. I will not make a 40 minute drive back to the store until I can be assured that they have a cufflink to replace the missing one and that they have either heard the voice message I left, or read the response I typed to the survey they asked me to take.
I have little hope that anything significant will be done based off of the reviews I have read. It seem that all they do is either apologize and ask you to give them another chance to give you better service (roughly translated it means "We messed up badly. So please come back and spend more money at our store for a chance you might get better service"), or they give you a couple of cheap shirts for free. In the case of the free shirts, they will tell you that everything should be all good since you got free shirts. Either way, I see this as the last time I will purchase anything from Jos A. Bank.
The person helped me when I first went into the store would get 5 stars from me. That is why overall I give the store 2 stars. Without that person, it would have been 1 star.

Not the worker/man in the blue suit last saturday outright showed and told my husband where the least expensive suspenders were when hubby asked for some LOL. Discrimination, implicit, unexpressed/un/conscious biases shone thru. Owner and employees need training to get rid of implicit biases and attitudes. How in the world some people like this guy judge people of color as poor and cannot afford to buy expensive stuff let alone eat at a pricey restaurant? So disappointing in a place such as utah.
