Lowes has been my source for tools, hardware, and other supplies for several years now. I've never had trouble finding what I needed, and was always able to find staff that could answer my questions.
Prices are reasonable, and the store itself is well maintained and logically organized.
The one somewhat negative experience I ever had was a couple years ago. It was February, and a large snowstorm was expected to blow in that night. Since I was running low on ice melt, I stopped in to pick up a fresh bag. When I had trouble finding any, one of the employees told me that the manager had shipped almost all of it away for storage to make room for summer supplies. Only a handful of bags were in the back, and they were all beat up and leaking. I had to drive home holding the best of the remaining bags in my lap to keep it from spilling all over the car. I understand the need for a retail location to have the next season's merchandise up early. But sundries like that should be kept on hand for the season they're needed in.
I have noticed that the front end staff at the cash registers and main customer service desks are undertrained. They can run a register, and sign you up for services well enough. But they don't have the knowledge, support, or authorization to actually deal with any sort of issue.
If Lowes were to increase front end training and do a better job of stocking seasonal sundries, they could have earned that fifth star.

Lowe’s 8-Light Chandelier (Model #B10006): Poorly Designed and Impossible to Install
The Lowe’s 8-Light Chandelier, Model #B10006, might look elegant in pictures, but the installation process is a complete disaster. After wasting several hours trying to make it work, I can confidently say the design is fundamentally flawed and incredibly inconsiderate of the customer’s time and effort.
Each of the eight pendant cords comes with a large amount of excess wire—but the shallow canopy and flat mounting bracket provide absolutely no realistic way to accommodate it. There are no guides, no notches, and no mention in the instructions of how to manage the thick bundle of wires that must pass between the bracket and the canopy. It's as if no one at any stage of production actually tried installing this themselves.
The instructions completely gloss over this issue, offering no solution or even acknowledgment of the problem. This isn’t a case of tricky installation—this is a fixture that physically doesn’t fit together unless you spend hours fighting with the wires, compressing them in ways that risk damaging them or the ceiling.
I returned it, and I won’t be purchasing lighting from this brand again. I don’t appreciate wasting an entire afternoon on something that clearly wasn’t tested in a real-world install. Lowe’s should reconsider carrying a product this poorly engineered.
Oh, and now I have two giant holes in my ceiling where the mounting screws were supposed to go. Lovely.
Note: I wanted to append this review by making it clear that this is not a review of the Lowe's store but just that product.

I love this store. Every time I come in, somebody asks me what I'm looking for and they always know exactly where to direct me. Everyone is polite and friendly. I was looking for camping propane tanks. The gentleman working walked me to the closest area they were and then told me if I was looking for a smaller package, I could find them on the end cap of a specific aisle. It's always easy coming to this store

I watched an employee quit and I thought what was her problem?
Then I tried to do a tool exchange and I found out.
Some people are difficult to deal with. And it seems like those people are on the hiring board here. If you’re going to Lowe’s in the Salt lake Valley It’s worth the drive to go the Lowe’s in Sandy.

The female employee who ended up helping me was very nice, but as an overall experience, I'm never coming back. Horrible customer service, in-store pickup, was a joke, and one lazy employee asked me three times if I needed anything, and gave three excuses why he couldn't help. Lowes on 1300 s and 300 w is by far one of the best in the city and i will give them my business. 4500 s can learn a lot from them. The bar is high and 4500 s is far below that bar.

This is the closest hardware store to my shop. Prices are rather HIGH, but the staff/team members are very knowledgeable (at least to where different products are located)

The Garden Center needs to water more and stand plants up if they have fallen over even if the plants are on clearance!

They don't stand behind any appliance purchases. 48 hour return policy for that.
Lowes are expensive and suck. They will NOT help you with anything.
Go somewhere else for all of your home improvement needs.
7-11 would be better.

Their website says they cut glass. Apparently, that guy called in sick today. And all they have is 2mm glass in large panes. Totally a waste of my time.
