They don't allow to make a payment on time without paying a $10 fee. Once the payment is late the fee will be waived. I had to go into a branch that is over 30 minutes from my house to make the payment, it was declined even though I had ample funds on the card. My friend said he had to take cash in because he was declined as well. I am just a cosigner on an account here. I will never willingly open an account here.

I just had a positive experience opening a new account with Golden West Credit Union. The customer representative was Thang Chao, who has a great and thoughtful manner with people. It was painless, which is a positive. Mr. Chao is a great representative of GWCU.

Makhaila from Orem branch is awesome !!she is super professional and very helpful!!I start my application on line but I never got a answer back from any one it was very frustrating I tried to call them but no one answered or call me back !!I’m so glad to have Makhaila close because I had to go to the Orem Branch personally and Makhaila help me out she makes a big difference in customer service the best Loan officer!! I completed a loan application and submitted it online. In early afternoon. I got a phone call from Thang Chao informing me that the loan had been approved. Mr. Chao then gave me instructions on completing the loan documents which he forwarded to us via email. We signed electronically and he deposited the loan proceeds in our savings account. He was polite, courteous and efficient. It was a very pleasant and pain free experience. Very impressed with Mr. Chao.

I was impressed with the quality of service, knowledge, and dedication of the staff at the orem branch. McKayla and Jocelyn helped me get through the process of my car loan, quickly and easily. They exceeded my expectations and provided me with a credit line and card. The flexibility of remote contact via email and phone worked person for a busy person like me. Compared to my experiences with other credit unions and branches, this one tops the charts.

I would give this bank negative stars if possible. 1. Not willing to work with anyone. If you live far from this bank, they won't work with you over the phone. 2. They charge you $10 for over the phone payments. 3. One time when I did make an over the phone payment, they changed more then I authorized, when I called it they basically were unapologetic and said they can't really do anything. This bank is a Hassel and makes it hard to make payments. So inconvenient and unhelpful. I feel angry after every interaction I have had with them over the past two years.

Awesome credit union. Employees are so friendly, in an era when hardly any are. Perfect size - small and personable. We've been going to the Orem branch for 10+ years and LOVE this little CU. Best little CU in Orem. GREAT staff - Knowledgeable, Friendly, Helpful. We've done the big bank thing - didn't care for that. If you like to bank where you matter and they greet you enthusiastically every single time you go in: This is your place. Best kept secret in Utah County!!
