Visited Jim's in search of jewelry and was thrilled to find that he makes beautiful bolo ties with stones! He showed interest and attention to detail in helping me find my way even though I'm not particularly well-versed. Easily the most pleasant rock shop I've ever visited, and my new go-to!

I know almost nothing about the metaphysical, but I love rocks!! Was looking for a gift for a very metaphysical friend, and Jim was so helpful. Not only does he have a vast knowledge of crystals and gems, he knows all about their geological formation and man that was cool.

I visited a few weeks ago and wish I had all the time in the world to pick Jim's brain about all things rocks. He's knowledgeable and honest and is a fantastic source for rock collectors and novice lapidary artists like myself. He has a great selection of faceting rough, which I should probably keep to myself, but in hopes of helping Jim sell some things, I think everyone that needs quality material to work with, as well as quality information, should absolutely stop by and have a chat. Thanks for the tip on dopping gemstones with 2 part epoxy and a little cornstarch! I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Although Jim’s business is in his house, do not let this deter you. Jim runs a wonderful shop with many different stones to choose from. Not only does he have a large selection, but he also has a wide variety of prices to fit any budget. He is very knowledgeable and will offer advice or comments on any jewelry or stone related subject. He is very welcoming and kind, and has many stories to tell. Ask him anything about a stone and he seems to always know the answer. Definitely recommend Jim and his shop

I know absolutely nothing about rocks, stones, crystals, or anything of this nature. But my friend does, and I wanted to get her something for her birthday. I googled where to go and that's when I found Jim's Gems! I went here with my 4 year old daughter, and not only did I love my experience, my daughter did too! Jim helped us find some cool gifts, and he taught us so much about the things we were curious about! He also makes BOLO TIES which I wasn't expecting at all but is so exciting! I came here to get a gift for my friend, but left with a gift for my friend and myself and I will 100% be back soon! Both Jim, and his business, are amazing!!

This will be a regular stop for me when I’m in Utah County. Jim was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Even though it’s just one room in his home, we spent at least an hour browsing and we certainly didn’t see everything. I loved his passion for his work and his willingness to share some of his favorite pieces with us.

Jim is very skilled and knowledgeable about gems. He takes hours to cut and polishing the stones, & is very skilled at making jewelry. He spent almost an hour with my daughter and I explaining, showing and describing the different minerals & stones. He was very personable and answered all our questions! He was not in any hurry to be done! And there are several stones that are very reasonably priced considering the time he puts into them!
