We moved out of state over 2 years ago. My husband and I went into the bank together and closed our account. We later got a letter saying we had a negative balance. Turns out they didn't close the account and my Venmo attempted to make a charge. This wasn't an overdraft. So because there was an attempted charge from venmo (even though no money was taken from the bank) I was charged almost $50.
What a good way to take money from people. No money was taken from the bank, but because a charge was ATTEMPTED they charge me $50.
