Affirm declined me for a $500 loan trough "Affirm", yes $500 (Five hundred dollars) !!! You read it right!! Poorly done software that doesn't make a difference between a 7-year-old debt and a new one. 6y and 10 months old, with a 2% credit utilization and 35 years year credit history with 100% on time for the past seven years. And $970K in saving.... I'm just flabbergasted for lack of other words. Banking decisions? Big NO NO, shouldn't be in lending money business. Selling lollipops perhaps would fit Celtic bank better, I think.

Like others I have an issue with their lending tactics. I have not done any business directly with a 'branch' but rather a subsidiary. Based on the real comments, I've read (which you can easily pick out from the fake ones), They may have issue with people paying off loans early, which some of us like to do. They've enacted something which may inadvertently be a blessing in disguise (by not dealing with me anymore. Nonetheless.....there's something SUPER DISHONEST about them. STAY AWAY!

See Celtic Bank's pathetic response to an FDIC Complaint below: Thank you for the opportunity to respond to your complaint regarding the M1 Owner's Rewards Card, issued by Celtic Bank and powered by Deserve. In the complaint you indicated you received an invitation to apply for the card, which you did. You further indicated that someone from Deserve called to follow up with you regarding a fraud alert placed on your credit report. After various attempts by both you and Deserve to connect regarding the fraud alert, you indicated that you received an email stating your application was denied due to "Other - Information provided does not match application or external source(s)." For resolution, you requested a more detailed explanation of why your application was declined and for the company to approve you for a card. Deserve has completed an investigation and the results are outlined below. According to our records, we received your application on October 26, 2021. After running a soft pull on your credit, which does not impact your credit score, we were made aware of a fraud alert on your credit report and your application was then flagged for manual review on October 28, 2021. To clear the fraud alert, a Deserve fraud agent (specifically dedicated to M1 Card applicants) attempted to complete a fraud verification phone call to properly verify your identity. Accordingly, an outbound call was made to the number provided on the application on October 29, 2021. The call was not answered and a request to call back was left via voicemail. Deserve's general customer support team received a call from you on November 1, 2021 where you attempted to complete the fraud verification process, however, since there wasn't a dedicated M1 Card fraud agent available at the time, you were advised by the customer support representative that someone from the M1 Card team would call you back. Another outbound call was made to you on November 24, 2021 by an M1 Card fraud agent to again attempt to complete the fraud verification processes. Again, the outbound attempt was unsuccessful, and the agent left another voicemail. You made another call on November 24, 2021 to Deserve's general customer support team and requested to speak to the fraud agent but again, there were no fraud agents available. Unfortunately, because of not being able to clear the fraud alert, your application was declined on day 30 (November 25, 2021) following your submitted application.

Loan Specialist never got back to me. So that's a first impression for you. On this guy's company profile, it says that he's "known for quickly helping small businesses..." yeah FALSE. Wouldn't give 2 cents to this company.

All I have to say is thank you Veronica for processing our PPP loan so quickly. We have always used USBANK, but they have seriously let us down as a business banking customer after 13 years of business banking. They expedited my request as if it was their own company suffering from this pandemic mess. I don't have any other experience with Celtic Bank, but based on this experience and how they filled my business bank account with PPP funds to save my employees, they would get 10 stars!! Give Veronica a raise too! Thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless you all! -Anthony

I obtained an SBA loan through Celtic Bank to purchase a business and real estate. I was reasonably satisfied with the process; although the bank seemed to struggle through the decision making process, in the end I was able to secure a loan. About 2 years later, I had a prospective buyer who was willing to pay a price that would allow me to make a reasonable profit on the business and property, that I intended to reinvest in another property. That buyer applied to Celtic and worked with the very same loan officer that I did. I thought that this would be to our advantage; however, according to the buyer, the loan officer frequently questioned and even belittled him for being willing to pay "so much" for this property. I was very much disappointed in the loan officers behavior, because, at the time, I was Celtic's only "customer" involved with this potential deal. Even after the banks chosen appraiser came back with a disappointing valuation for the property, the buyer hung in there and agreed to bring more money to the table. However, according to the buyer, from that point on, the bank kept changing its requirements and the buyer finally gave up on the bank. At that time, 6 months had passed and I didn't feel like continuing to pursue the sale and let the contract run out. After that experience, I wouldn't be comfortable working with Celtic again. I recently refinanced my business loan through Kansas State Bank and was extremely happy with the process and was also able to secure a much lower interest rate.
