Michele Gardiner is possibly the rudest "local" in all of Park City. There are dozens of horror stories online about the way she has verbally attacked people that approach her business. Including telling them that her store complete with OPEN sign out front is, "Private Property!" Steer clear of this woman and her store. No amount of "good design" is worth supporting a business with an owner who doesn't even know how to be kind to strangers.

I was looking for someone who could reupholster some old chairs. I found Park City Designer, I went in and the owner was very helpful. She had a great selection of fabrics, took our order, and our reupholstered chairs turned out great!

I have never met such a rude employee in my life. She would not get off the phone and when another costumer came in to ask a question she quickly told us to be quiet because there was a sleeping baby with her. Then when we told her we needed help she proceeded to push us and follow us to the front door. We then told her that we had never met someone so rude and she responded in saying she had never met such rude costumers and kicked us out while shutting the door behind us. I will never be returning to that shop again.

My family has been vacationing in Park City for years. One thing we love about this wonderful town is the kindness shown to us by mostly everyone we meet. Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant experience when we entered the Park City Designer shop. The woman was so rude when we went into her shop. She rudely asked if I "lived here" as though she was trying to decide if I could walk around her shop. I instantly stated that I was not a local and was it ok for my husband and I to look around her shop. She waved her hand at us and said "What ever". Although her comment was flippant, we quickly walked around and thanked her. Initially, we thought she may have been having a bad day, so we didn't make too much of it.... Boy were we wrong! This lady is down right ugly, nasty and rude!! During a ghost tour, the group was listening to the tour guide and suddenly this women opens her door and states that we were standing on private property. Last time I checked, I thought the sidewalk was city property. There were several people off the sidewalk that were standing among weeds, gravel and dirt, but in no way was it a problem. She threatened to call the police and used very ugly harsh words. I feel pity for this lady, as I could not imagine living a miserable life. How exhausting it must be to be so miserable. I recommend that people avoid her shop at all cost. There are way too many other shops and restaurants who are happy to welcome and accommodate visitors.

The Design Shop is a wonderful store, it is packed with a lot of wonderful & unique furniture. The owner, Michele, is an interior design expert and she has a ton of great design ideas. We got a pair of beautiful custom upholstered chairs that really elevated our living room from the Design Shop! :)
