You will not find better peaches anywhere in the world, and that’s not an exaggeration! So sweet and delicious!! I wait for these every year and I’m so grateful they work so hard to be able to share them with all us! They are delicious dried too!

McMullin has some of the best fruit around. The fruit stand is great. You can buy quarter, half, or full bushels of one fruit. OR you can mix up your own custom box from the various available fruits.

We visited here the last weekend of august and bought four beautiful boxes of peaches. $35/box for firsts. They taste great and canned perfectly. We visited again the first weekend of September to get boxes for friends and family. $30/box this time and they tasted even better. Great orchard!

After years of being delighted with the Diamond Princess peach variety, this year's crop (August 2021) was particularly disappointing. First of all, it cost several dollars more for a box of #1's, but their ripening quality was substandard. Peaches are always a bit tricky to ripen properly, but with Diamond Princess, we felt ok getting maybe 50% of the box to ripen perfectly, by taking a few out of the fridge at a time to ripen, then when the fruit would slightly yield to pressure from one's thumb, and it smelled fragrant, there was at least a 50% chance it would be soft to bite, very juicy, with clear yellow flesh.
This year (2021), I felt lucky if 1 out of 20 came out well. As they ripened at room temperature, a lot of blemishes and dark spots would appear. When they finally were fully red, fragrant, and yielded to gentle pressure from the thumb, I would cut them open. Nearly without fail, they were shading towards brown on the inside (i.e., past their prime) but still CRUNCHY, with a rubbery, cucumber-like consistency!!! A ripe peach should not crunch at all, but be a soft, nearly noiseless bite. Fewer than 1 in 20 of these 2021 Diamond Princess peaches were of acceptable eating quality, but I paid a much higher price than for them, than in previous years.
9/24/21 - Bought a box of Summer Lady after the failed Diamond Princess box. The
Summer Lady have been everything the Diamond Princess was not. Hardly a bad one in the lot: clear dark yellow flesh, juicy, fragrant and sweet.
