I host dozens of domains, and ten (10) live WordPress sites with hostmonster. From August 17-18, 2023 the WordPress app, Jetpack, has sent me hundreds of emails that my sites all keep going down. Hundreds of emails -- probably 250+ emails. My sites go down and come back up, repeatedly. I did a live chat and the CSR, supposedly named Moahana, absolutely LIED TO ME twice and blamed me for the problems. I provided a screen shot of the emails and asked her to escalate the chat to a manager and she ended the chat. I know moving all my domains will be a pain, but I am absolutely done with Hostmonster. I hope the next potential customers comes here and sees their 1.8 / 5.0 rating and moves on. Let the market vote with their wallets.

Horrible customer service and expensive hosting. We had a very simple domain name and redirect setup that stopped working. The chat agents either assume you know lots of technical terminology or are making things sound extra complicated to try and confuse you into purchasing hosting accounts and frivolous extras. The original hosting account cost is $4 a month as an introductory cost but it doesn't get into specifics about forcing you to pay $20 a month after the introductory period. The agents will do and say whatever to make sales, and refuse to explain how to turn off autorenewal on your domain. The agent just ended the chat. Rude and unhelpful, would suggest going elsewhere for better service and pricing.

They have to be the worst host we have ever used. Our site would constantly be down for seemingly no reason. No support, and all overseas support with serious competency issues. Avoid at all costs. There should be a "no star" option on this review, as 1 start is too many.

Horrible service since the partnering with Bluehost. All service reps and incompetent at best. Been a customer for almost 15 years, but will be moving soon.

If you're wondering if their service is just as bad as everyone says it is 'now'It is.See also, they are owned by bluehost. The UX for fixing issues or navigating within their interface is awful and often creates loops that crash their website. It would be forgivable if it wasn't for their slimy pricing practices.I used to refer them as my hosting service of choice, because they were 'cheap', never again.

10 year customer and I was shocked at the horrible customer service I received today. I got so angry I was literally cursing over the phone. Not only was I told I wasn't intelligent enough to understand the difference between DNS name registration and DNS name servers, I was told I had to pay them to get access to what I already paid for. Then in the next breath I was told that if I did pay their blackmail they couldn't guarantee to restore all of my previous DNS settings that they deleted to extort more money out of me.Wow, just wow. After an emergency outage that Hostmonster did nothing to resolve I've happily migrated my WebHosting, Email, and DNS to another provider.

I had a major issue with my emails being delayed and not showing up as sent. I was in the middle of file sharing with a lawyer and he kept receiving duplicate emails that were delayed and our time sensitive work was hugely disrupted because of HM horrible support. For three weeks HM said it was a RCN problem, then they would make me change settings twice for 12 emails ( I have a company) and it turned out after speaking to two supervisors and six support people I was black listed. But of course the bounced me to Apple before my IT guy demanded a supervisor on my behalf. If you want flakey inconsistent support that leads to no resolution and disruptions that can't be answered professionally promptly go ahead - you've been warned.

I have been a customer for more than 10 years. The quality of their service is absolutely terrible. They have serious technical issues that they have refused to rectify for years and it has come to a point where working with Hostmonster is no longer viable for us. Their support and service is terrible and continues to decline. My advice is to find another webhost, ANY other host. If you cant find one, start tacking paper flyers to telephone poles, it would be money better spent. At one time they offered a quality product and because of that they grew and prospered. Today, they acquire the well-performing competition and decimate their support and service, leveling the playing field down to the absolute bottom. As of today, after hours of phone calls, and numerous emails, I'm firing them and going to a company which appreciates my business.

Not sure what the issue is with all of these bad reviews. I have had nothing but great service with these guys. In a world where it almost impossible to talk to a real person in customer service, I always get someone very fast and they are always very knowledgeable and helpful.

WARNING - DO NOT EVER GO WITH HOST MONSTERI've been using hostmonster since I was a kid, literally since I was 15-17, it's now a decade later where their entire company declined into the ground. Nothing but unexplained downtime, support unable to help with anything, and through the roof pricing for poor quality servers. Not only will your site be 50% slower on hostmonster, your server will go down for 3 days with no communication or explanation why. 0 Compensation for the 150$/m you're spending. Go with any other server hosting company besides ones using "bluehost" this is a awful company.

Well shut my mouth. I never thought I would say there is a hosting company out there worse than HostGator; but then here comes Host Monster. I was on the phone for 3 calls all totaling over 2 hours. For what? Glad you asked. To get an SSL. A call that takes 2 minutes with Liquid Web. No. The SSL was down for over 8 hours the entire day because they have non-technical people trying to do server administrative jobs. I can't recall a worse time with customer service in any field. EVER.
