Small, but interesting selection. I was especially glad to find some Montbell jackets here. The staff were friendly too.

From the minute you walk into Mountainworks you can feel that this store will be a different climbing and mountaineering gear buying experience than you will get at a big box or national store. The employees are always friendly and excited to talk to you about climbing no matter what your experience level in the sport is.But the thing that really sets Mountainworks apart in my mind is the individual service you will receive, and the knowledge the employees have about climbing gear, and local climbing areas. From trying on shoes to get the right fit, to hanging in a harness to see the difference between how they feel, they will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your purchase and that your purchase is right for you. They usually have the inside scoop about the newest climbing areas in the area as well, so that’s worth asking about when you visit.Plan to spend some time just talking while you are there. Great store, great gear selection, great people.

I've loved this store, but after meeting the owner I won't be back. I came in today for some advice for mountaineering boots, as I've rented boots here before and figured it was time for my own pair. The owner suggested a few options, but when I asked for advice on sizing he flat out refused to help. "No. Why should I waste an hour of my time helping size you when you are going to buy these in a different store. Not cool man, not cool..." I was planning on buying boots here, but not anymore. They have a great selection of gear and good prices, but I was frankly shocked at the customer service I received.

These guys really want to help you out. They set me up with my first pair of climbing shoes and I couldn't be happier. They didn't just shove me a set but instead took time to teach me how the shoes should feel and fit and helped me make a decision. If you need gear this is the place to get it.

Came in to find a pair of my first climbing shoes. Christopher went above and beyond to help me to find shoes that were right for me - even pulling out 10 boxes of shoes until we did. There was also a surprising amount of climbing gear in that small store. Super impressed!

I used to go to other big outdoor stores for my climbing gear, but now I only come here. They have everything you would ever need for all types of climbing, and they have super nice and chill employees who know everything there is to know about climbing. They will set you up with the best gear, and even take the time to make sure you know how to properly use it. The salesman selling me a Grigri took 15 minutes or so to show me how to properly use it. Ten out of ten, would recommend

Great routes. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. We're new to the area and Josh at the shop, Mountainworks, gave us a bunch of suggestions for hiking and outdoor climbing.

Hands down the best people and all around climbing/mountaineering shop in UT. It's been 7 years and it's like we never skipped a beat.- New to climbing or mountaineering, they're your people! They will fit you for a shoe appropriate for your foot shape, size, style of climbing, and rock preferences.- Already a climbing veteran, they've got route and beta recommendations for every type of rock and crag in UT whether you want to go tower hunting, peak bagging, or rack up for a 14+.Simply put, it's hard to go wrong with the folks who, among other things, developed a lot of Maple Canyon (and wrote the guidebook for it) and yearly put in thousands of $$$ into new routes and anchor replacement up and down the state!

If you want the best gear from people who really know what they are talking about then go the Mountainworks. You are getting not only awesome gear at a reasonable price, but access to an entire culture that will change the enjoyment you get from climbing.
