Golden Spike Park is a nice, secluded park tucked into a neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle. It is a lovely park with large, beautiful mature trees providing lots of shade. The park features a large, well-kept open field, a baseball diamond, walking paths, and a paved trail. There is parking at both ends of the park. The playground is for big or little kids, with a toddler playground just their size, as well as a mid-sized one. It includes simple slides, swings, a rock climbing wall, and climbing structures, with wood chips covering the ground. The park is dog-friendly, with a doggy bag dispenser, plenty of space for dogs to run around and play fetch, and a nice paved trail. For picnics, there is a pavilion or gazebo with covered seats, tables, benches, little BBQs or coal grills, and trash cans. Washrooms or toilets are there and function, with running water and soap, and are open during the summer. It is a pretty solid little spot and always a favorite.
