Was declined to have our dog vaccinated because the vet decided they didn’t want to take time to take a walk in with no one in line or waiting. I have no problem making appointments when they are mandatory but it has never been by appt only and is ridiculous a vet can decide if or when they will accept a walk in or not.

I purchased 4 fish from here 10 days ago, the only change I made to my tank and Monday evening when I went to bed, I found 2 dead ruby barbs and thought they had just been in a fight. I woke up yesterday morning to find 2 more of my fish dead and saw they had ick. We immediately began treatment but as of right now I have lost 4 of my ruby barbs, 2 of my silver dollars and 1 of my dojo loaches. I called Petco who responded with, "oh, we have a 30 day guarantee" well that's great but will you replace the fish I didn't buy from your store, NO!!! These are not just fish, they have personality, we love them, they're unique and beautiful and we are devastated.

I feel so bad for any live animals that are kept here. I have to assume that it's because they are short staffed, but the amount of neglect I saw in that store was heartbreaking. I went there to look at their fish, and there were at least three or more dead fish in every tank. The ones that weren't dead were barely alive or under extreme stress. I bought a dojo loach who looked so unhappy, and the employee helping me dropped him on the floor. He is so much better now in our tank. We tested that water from his bag from Petco and the PH and Ammonia levels were EXTREMELY high, probably from the fish bodies rotting in the water. Please don't work at a pet store if you aren't passionate about all living creatures. It's their job to make sure they are happy until they find their home, and every fish there was just suffering in pure hell. I wish there was more I could do. This is not okay.

I feel bad connecting this review to the riverdale petco, because this really is not a reflection of that store or employees. Last Sunday. 5/9/21, I took my cat to get vaccinated. The vet staff was amazing and pleasant. The veterinarian was HORRIBLE. She pulled my cat out of her crate and took one look at her and made me feel like a horrible cat mother. She told me my cat's teeth were horrible and needed to be cleaned and pulled...hm, both? She then proceeded to tell me how sick my cat was because she was so thin. She assumed she had stomach cancer. She immediately put her back in her crate and refused to vaccinate. I had zero problem with her to refuse to vaccinate. It was her presumed diagnosis with out listening to her heart or even taking her temp. I got into the car devastated because I thought my cat was sick and going to die of stomach cancer. I took her to her regular vet with an emergency visit Monday morning. The vet was appalled at what I was told by her simply feeling her body. She had gained weight since her last appointment 2 months prior and I was told she was perfectly healthy, just a very tiny cat. This vet needs to know, not to diagnose with out doing a real exam or treating animal parents the way she did. Does she not realize what pets mean to their owners?

Absoltydo not take your dog here to the groomers. My dogs appointment was at 0900. I didn't pick him up until 2:35 because he wasn't "ready." To top it all off, the groomer completely and utterly butchered him during his hair cut. When we got home, my poor pup was so thirsty he drank two bowls of water. I 100% will never go back here again.

omg this is UNCONSCIONABLE!!! Dead fish left for days, waste build up, algae build up, hoses strung across walkway with no attending employee. Shut this place down and clean it up!!!
