Well, it's a bummer to have to write this. But this place has frustrated me one too many times. I used to live near Olympus area, so loved to go to this store to look around... You can come across some of the darndest, off-the-wall cool stuff at an Ace store. I always had to wait an eternity ti get checked out when I'd be done, but it was still fun to go there anyway.

Don't go there. Super slow. Waited in line for 30 minutes while there was only one customer ahead.

Crate Little Hardware Store closer to my project than the Home Depot on 21st South. A little bit more expensive, but clearly worth it. Cheerful people. Most of the more common things they have.

This amazing little store's selection is great. They are my favorite for nuts, bolts, screws, connectors, brackets and all sorts of little hard to find hardware pieces. Staff is helpful and friendly. I go here instead of Home Depot even though they aren't as close.

This is a store I want to like, but also one that typically leaves me disappointed. It reminds me of a rural hardware store — small, a little expensive but packed to the rafters with merchandise. On weekdays, when the adults are in charge, the staff can be very helpful. On weekends, I've found it to be another story when inexperienced adolescents are staffing the store. This past Sunday was no exception. When I walked into the store, the guy behind the counter — maybe early 20s — just glared at me. I proceeded to find what I thought I needed, then went to the counter where he was sullenly checking out another customer. The store phone rang, he turned around, picked up the receiver just enough to slam it down without saying a word. He then grabbed his cell phone and simply walked out of the store — leaving several customers waiting at the counter. Since this guy, as far as I could tell, was the only person staffing the entire store, I decided that it would be best to do what I should have done in the first place — go to Home Depot. Leaving the store, I passed by the guy who was seemingly now having a personal conversation on his cell phone. People have bad days, but there's really no excuse for rudeness or staffing a store with immature people who don't know what they're doing. Like I mentioned, when the adults are there, it's a good place. When the kids are in charge, it's often another story.
