Zero Stars. In case you are ever considering renting a van from Airport Van Rentals, just don't. We booked and paid for our rental in April for our July trip. Two days before our trip, they cancelled our reservation. (Pretty sure they were hoping WE would cancel, then they wouldn't have to refund us, but we didn't and the SLC location is closed due to COVID, so they had to). We were told our refund would be issued within 10 days. It actually took nearly SIX WEEKS and it only happened because of a dozen emails, half dozen phone calls, filling out the wrong form they sent, filling out the right form they sent and generally pestering them every day for the last week, including threatening to get our credit card company involved on our behalf. What an actual mess! So, please, just never rent from them.

How come when I call nobody seems to answer? Also The vehicle I reserved had only one wiper and the driver light was out. You know that is dangerous and very irresponsible. We could've potentially been pulled over and received a ticket or worse wrecked with only one wiper if it happen to rain. All numbers on the website are not in order and it's very stressful to try and get a hold of someone in the rental place I had to call the hotel.

Great rates staff is friendly however when I received the vehicle it only had a 1/4 tank of gas interior was dusty and it had no windshield washer fluid was mildly disappointed in the cleanliness of the interior that I ended up cleaning it myself but my biggest problem is that I had to fill the take before going on my trip

Not sure that I can in good conscious give this company 1 star, but alas, zero stars is not an option. I was at the pick up location 10 min before my pickup time of 330. I called the number listed for the shuttle pickup at least 10 times, and after listening to the automated response and then being disconnected from the call everytime, I gave up. I waited for over an hour at the airport pickup location for the shuttle to arrive, and it NEVER CAME! I am canceling my reservation with then and choosing Fox rentals, as their rates are comparable, and their shuttle makes regular stops. I hope you, the discerning consumer can learn from my mistake and STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS GARBAGE HEAP OF A COMPANY. They're trucks might be nice, but who cares if you can't get there to pick it up.

AVR in Salt Lake City is a complete joke. I made a booking and they took money from my account and sent me a confirmation for my pick up at 2 pm. I show up at 1 and no one is there. I call and get the main headquarters and they say my booking isn’t valid. They tell me the “manager” won’t be back until 4 pm. I then come back at 4 pm which Will put me for late check in at my hotel. I show up at 4 and the “manager” or anyone at all is still not at he office. 30 mins goes by and so call the head quarters and they say my booking isn’t valid and if I want to go do another booking I can maybe get a car tomorrow. WHAT A JOKE! I went to another place who matched the price and got me in a car in 15 mins. I recommend NEVER using this awful company which will probably be out of business soon.

Vehicle was fine. Upon pickup, only one attendant who also transported to airport so had to wait. Office in odd location in same building as Ramada Inn. 2 customers, one SUV. Had to search for keys. Reasonable price. No other issues.

WORST CAR RENTAL PLACE EVER! The manager Brent is also SUPER rude! Worst customer service ever! The van was also super dinged up and the inside was super dirty. It's worth paying a little more to rent elsewhere. They'll charge you $250 for insurance when it was not requested and will not refund! RENTERS BEWARE! Take your money somewhere else!!

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. This place has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I did my research, I looked for any fees that might be incurred before I rented this car and it said there weren't any additional fees. Surprise! They wanted to charge me additional fees. I showed them four screenshots that the website didn't have any additional fees. They pulled up the website and couldn't find any additional fees listed so they printed off the fees from a completely different website and showed me the fees. Please! Please! Take my advice, don't rent from these guys. They will take advantage of you and rip you off. They don't care. They just treat you like a number. I can't believe they're in business. I've never been so disappointed by a rental car company in my 15 years of renting cars. Even if you have to pay a little extra somewhere else, just do it. You won't be treated like a number or a pee on.

Rental pick up is definitely “off site” of the airport (and only a single shuttle means you’ll be waiting and waiting). And if you do pre-paid fuel they assume you’re bringing back empty (even on a single-day rental) so they just change you for the full cost of the tank.

Worst rental car company there is. We needed to pick up our car after 6 pm (when they close) and they were unwilling to accommodate. Wouldn’t even let us pick up the car in the morning. The person I spoke to was driving the shuttle and told me to cancel the reservation and go somewhere else.

Can’t give 0 stars. Had a reservation for 10pm on a Wednesday but apparently they close at 6pm. So I couldn’t get my car and stuck at the airport, which forced me to rent a different car.

Flying in from Milwaukee, expecting to pickup our 4wheel SUV, however when called about getting picked up by their shuttle, we were informed that the SUV was damaged and unable to rent AND all they had was a 12 passenger van. They did not inform us ahead of time this was going to be the case and had no other solution. Poor customer service prevails as the average 2.6 customer rating states for this company. My solution: Stick with the big name car rentals in this town...

Haven't rented the vehicle yet and we called because we were having issues, agent was rude and hung up on us twice. After reading the reviews sounds like it's a better idea to cancel the rental and go somewhere else.

We landed and called for the shuttle to come get us. Driver was not welcoming. Once we get to AVR we go to a Ramada inn that the rental cars at at. The driver is actually also the person who rents the car to you as well. This is a slow process because every person takes 15 min to rent a car. We get our van and do the inspection (which he didn't walk around with us) and the van is a month late on registration. Because we don't want to get pulled over and get a ticket for not driving a vehicle that is registered we tell the employee and he said just tell the cop you rented the vehicle and you should be ok. We were very unhappy with this answer and he offered us a different van. Why was that not the first solution I do not know. After another 15 min if getting the new van and moving our luggage to the new van he came and did the inspection in about 8 sec. Now we return the car and wait for about 30 min for someone to drop the car off too. No employee was around or a sign or even a number to call. We were about to take the van to airport valet and be done with it, but a guy showed up right before we left. The new employee (not the same as before) walked the car and said we damaged the back of the van door (there is a dent). We let him know we will contest this. The entire experience was bad from start to finish.
