Backyard Bookkeepers has been a great resource to us here at Trauma-Informed Utah. As a new, very small, non-profit, we appreciate the way they are able to help us managing all our bookkeeping needs. We know our non-profit work well, but we are not bookkeepers. Our bookkeeper Ellen, walks us through processes that are over our heads and makes sure things are keep up to date and complete for when we have an audit. I recently started my own law firm and keeping track of billing and accounting was completely outside of my expertise. Backyard Bookkeeping and Julie-Ann stepped into help me start an accounting and book keeping process and show me how to keep track of everything on my software. Julie-Ann is quick to get back to me with solutions and help me figure out matters.
As a new business, affordability is important and they are considerate and affordable which is a big bonus .

My company recently became a new customer to Backyard Bookkeeper. The old company really did a sub-average job for us, and when tax time arrived my CPA asked for the P&L I keep for reference purposes, because our Quick Book records were so behind and inaccurate.
We have been working with Kim and Backyard. Kim has help us get all accounts and credit cards reconciled, she has worked with our office administrator to establish some new processes that have made in house accounting run so smoothly. Kim's communication is incredible, she is able to communicate on our schedule, and she is packed full of helpful tips, information, and happy energy. There are bookkeepers who work because they get paid. Kim truly has a passion for what she does and it shows through her effort and her eager attitude.

We've recently had to clean up the books of a client who was using Backyard Bookkeeper. It appears that it definitely depends on which bookkeeper is assigned to your account. The one we cleaned up after didn't understand what GL to apply to 1099 employees or the effect on financials for inactivating a bank account. Other obvious errors would not have been made by an experienced bookkeeper. Be careful who you are assigned to.

I have used backyard bookkeeping services for about 1 1/2 years now and have loved it. I have worked one on one with 2 different bookkeepers and they are so aware and invested in and of my books. They have never put me on the back burner. Additionally, I haven't seen random fees or extra charges. They are very fair and always kind.

Alex and her team are amazing. I used to do all of this on my own, but handing everything off to them has been the best business decision I've made.
