I’m a Tepanyaki girl personally, but I’m down with Benihana. The food was great. If you don’t like garlic, hard pass! The space is a bit crowded, but the exceptional service makes up for it. We had a great server and cook. My partner got the Trio, and I ordered the salmon, but substituted the avocado tartar sauce with teriyaki.

Benihana is a staple for birthdays and special events in my family because of their consistency in food and service quality. Benihana rarely disappoints, and when they do it’s because we had a new chef, which is understandable. They do need to switch to Coke products, though. Pepsi is not it.Parking: The parking garage requires validation, and is a little bit of a walk to the restaurant. But it isn’t terrible, and one of the better options for downtown parking.

We have been to this restaurant for 35 years. The past 12 months it has gone downhill substantially. We have started going to Teppanyaki Grill instead.Last night we thought we’d try again. It was a dismal of service. We arrived at 7:10pm. We weren’t able to leave until 11:10pm. We were celebrating our small kids birthdays. It took 50 minutes to get a table. That’s normal. But then it took 45 minutes to get water. Another 50 minutes to get salad and soup. And another 70 minutes to even get a chef to our table. The table in front of us was done with their ice cream and paid their checks before we were done with our food. They arrived 55 minutes AFTER we did. We personally complained to the manager 3 times during the marathon night. It did not help. We will not go to dinner here again. Food was great. Chef was spectacular. But the service, bathrooms and generally cleanliness was extremely subpar for the price you pay. 35 years of business with you signing off ☹️

We had the best time at Benihana! Reservation was efficient and straight forward, the lunch service was quick and thoughtful. Our server Eden did a good job, especially because we had members in our party that did not speak English and were new to the Benihana menu. I wish she would have explained the process a bit more, but the menu was comprehensive enough and we were able to figure it out. The chef, Santiago, is the one that truly stole the show. He adapted his show and dish confirmation to Spanish for all to understand! He was funny, he was charismatic and cooked our food to perfection. During the show most people take videos of their experience, right? I thought I had recorded but turns out I didn't. Santiago repeated the final trick so that I could get it in video. Super thoughtful! Santiago truly made our experience a great one. Can't wait to come back again!

Came here for dinner with my sister & I. There was a misunderstanding about our order being wrong and our chef was extremely disrespectful and rude. When I mentioned to him nicely that we did not want chicken we would like shrimp he loudlyyelled and said “no no no this is what is on the order “ so unprofessional and rude. i would not recommend him to anyone people spend way to much money at this restaurant to be treated in this way. He has tattoos, gauges and piercings. At the end we did asked to be moved and our kind waitress was able to take care of us.

We had Maria as our waitress... come to find out she's been here 21 years. She's one of our favorite. We had Mario as our chef. He was an AMAZING Chef. Both my wife and I had our steak cooked too perfection.

What a wonderful dinner!! We loved the chicken fried rice (definitely pay extra for it when they ask you), steak, chicken, soup— everything!! Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time if you want to eat between 5:30-7 on a weekend. We got a reservation for 8:15 last minute though, which wasn’t too late for us.We had a young child at our table and it was a great experience even for her, making it a fun family dinner. The only thing I would advise is not to come here wearing clothing that can only be dry cleaned because you will walk out of there smelling like it. No amount of laundry spray could refresh my pants the next morning. You just need to wear something you aren’t worried about and go for the full experience! :)Also, they validate parking at the adjoining garage, so make sure to remember that.Worth the money!Parking: Validate the parking as you leave at the host stand

I’ve heard people rave for years about this place. Today I tried it for the first time and will never go back. The food was not good. I immediately thought something wasn’t right but continued on with our meal (which took 45 minutes to get since they wouldn’t let us sit at the cooktops) within the hour I wasn’t feeling well. Now 8 hours later both my daughter and myself are curled up with stomach cramps, nausea, and the screaming 2s.. I should have said something to our server but decided to just pay our $86 ticket and leave. Neither of us finished even half of our meal. At this point we are confident we have food poisoning. I never leave bad reviews but this one I couldn’t avoid! Such an upset..

Go to bonsai in sandy. It's better lmao. And cheaper. The food here is mediocre at best and not worth the price you're paying at all.
