HORRIBLE. Don't rent from Budget Rental of Utah. Anyone else has to be better. They're over-worked and under-staffed so it's no surprise that customer service suffers. I made three back-to-back reservations and it was non-stop headaches. They double billed me on one of the 3 rentals and only credited me back the lower of the two. And one rental, I mistakenly added coverage that we declined on the other two rentals. No surprise, they won't credit me back for the mistake claiming "rules." Well, my new rule is DON'T RENT FROM BUDGET of UTAH.

I had a reservation at 6 PM and arrived 10 minutes early, only to find linda visibly stressed and in a rush to close up. Despite having a reservation, she claimed she couldn’t find it and insisted that I leave and return on Monday, which is absolutely absurd. It’s as if customer service takes a backseat the moment the clock nears closing time. Why take a reservation for the exact time you close if you can’t honor it? This whole experience felt like a slapdash operation more concerned with clocking out than customer satisfaction. Definitely won’t be returning.

Seriously spend a little more money & get a MUCH better customer service literally anywhere else. We spent hours being passed around on the phone to various call centers when we just needed to talk to this location about extending our rental a couple more days. Also, their website didn’t work. Also, anticipate spending at least an hour there when you go for pick up; even though I was only the second person in line it took over 45 mins to just get some assistance from the one & only employee who was working the entire operation (but he assured me it’s fine working solo because he gets all the commission haha)

Poor customer service! I booked my reservation online, when I returned my rental & closed out my rental ticket the amount that was charged to my account was more than it should have been. The clerk that closed my ticket said he couldn’t do anything & that the manager would call me the next day to resolve the problem. I’m still waiting for the call. I’ll NEVER rent from Budget again!!

Made a reservation a month in advance for a moving truck, and tow dolly to tow my car. Get a call less than 24 hours before moving across country that they won’t have my tow dolly. After multiple phone calls with customer service they advised they found one, and will have it brought to the location. Upon my arrival the next morning I’m told that no tow dolly is available, delaying my cross country move and no attempts to rectify the situation.

I rented online. When I went to pickup the car it was quick and easy. All that was needed was to initial off on some items and my signature. The rate was good too!

Morgan was great. Checking in the rental was easy and painless. She couldn't assist with a discrepancy made by the pickup, but she provided the customer service line for assistance.

Do not rent anything from this location. They are not helpful or kind. The manager, Derek, who only goes by his first name, is just rude. There are so many other choices for car rentals who care about customer service. Definitely go elsewhere.

Very poor communication. We were scheduled to drop off our car on a holiday, and they did not bother to tell us that they would be closed that day. We showed up to a sign on the door that informed us we needed to return cars to the airport location. Can't believe they didn't share that beforehand. It was very inconvenient.

We recently "completed" a cross country move using Budget Truck rental. I say "completed" lightly because it's been a month since we returned the truck and they have still not resolved our reservation. They leased us a box truck with a faulty engine. After two days of driving we broke down because the spark plug flew out of the engine of a what they claimed to be a "recently maintenanced vehicle". After waiting for 3 hours for a mechanic to come help us, he immediately deemed that we would need a replacement truck to complete our move. It took 6 days before Budget got us a truck. We called them everyday, multiple times, only to be put on hold- yet again- have to call back because of a "dropped connection", or told to "just wait another day or two" for an update. Due to the circumstances, my partner and I were forced to separate and each of us had to complete the cross country drive alone. During those 6 days of phone calls, were informed repeatedly by the FleetNet America (the third party that operates the break downs for Budget) that the inventory department at Budget truck was the only reason they hadn't yet sent us a replacement. Though they knew a snowstorm was coming, their management would not approve to send us a truck because it was outside of their initial 300 miles parameter, even though that was the nearest and only truck close to us for multiple days. It seems like they just wanted us to wait indefinitely at a hotel until something closer popped up.Needless to say, a week of being broken down with absolutely no help from Budget (and yes we had bought the roadside help) causes us an immense amount of stress and frustration. After finally returning the rental a week late due to their incompetence, Budget agreed to a reimbursement amount for our "bad experience with them". They would not cover the full expenses. While they covered the hotel room and food in Wy, they excluded food for our service animal, and any gratuity given while eating out while stuck in a broken down status. ( we wouldn't have had to eat at restaurants in WY if we were trapped in a hotel for a week!) They also refused to reimburse for living essentials that I had to replace since our truck was still trapped when I got the keys to our new place. We accepted the amount so we could be done with them and this horrible experience. They emailed us saying that they processed our reimbursement and to expect it in 5-7 business days. On the 11 business day, I emailed them regarding our reimbursement since we had not yet received it. They did not answer so I called customer service later that afternoon. My call was "dropped" or passed off 4 times before I spoke to someone who helped me. She was "so sorry that no one had informed us that they were having system issues so our reimbursement never processed". But assured me that it was had been processed that day while we were on the phone. She couldn't even provide me with a confirmation email of proof that it had been actually processed this time. Whether it really was a system issue or that someone didn't do their job correctly, Budget's communication skills are abysmal.Budget was by far the WORST moving experience I've ever had. And to top it off they operate in bad faith. They've agreed in writing to give us a partial reimbursement, and then haven't given us THAT back. Their answer is always to be patient and wait a few more days. It's been twice the amount of promised business days, and we still have yet to receive thousands of dollars from Budget. I don't understand how anyone can work for this company knowing how they treat their customers. I will NEVER be using Budget again. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone- in fact, I will actively recommend that you spend your money elsewhere in hopes of at least being treated like a paying customer instead of some kind of nuisance. Neither pictures, invoices, or tangible evidence is enough to negotiate claims with this budget office. I rent cars every week for work. Despite being a loyal customer, I was taken advantage of by this location. After being told the attached picture was going to need a repair, a full replacement was ordered without inspection resulting in a $430 charge instead of the expected $60-70. What's worse is customer service lied to me every step of the process beyond the point where it wasn't worth any more of my or my companies time (Auto glass inspection determined replacement = lie, the chip started cracking the moment I left their shop after zero change for a week of driving= lie). On top of this duplicity, Budget has the nerve to mark-up the replacement cost 46%. Don't be like me, read and take heed other people's horrible reviews of this location before doing business here.

Can I give negative stars? We waited in a 45 minutes (no other car renters had a line, by the way). Our reservation was prepaid by a family member (they booked everyone’s rentals to make it easier for those of us flying in). As my husband was processing the transaction, the key pad said “swipe or enter card number” and asked if we could enter the number given by the family member. We had a photo of the card, had them on the phone, etc. so mildly frustrating, but not a huge deal and we completely understand the security reasons they wouldn’t allow someone to do this, could certainly be done by someone for fraudulent purposes. However, my husband just wanted to know why “officially” so he could explain it to the family member that booked and to the others who are looking to pick up their cars later. So long story short, my husband asked a question about paying and this guy (says his name is Abraham) said if he didn’t calm down he’d refuse to rent him a car and was just incredibly unprofessional. Our originally reservation was at 11am, we are just getting into our car at 1pm. When we got downstairs to get the actual car, the paperwork said 09, there wasn’t a 09. Apparently it was B13. The guy working downstairs said he’s not surprised to hear of our experience with Abraham and that he would need to disengage with our conversation otherwise he might say too much about his coworker. SPEAKS VOLUMES when your peer is essentially like, “yeah, not surprised.. I plead the fifth” YIKES. Anyway, sorry, Budget, your rates weren’t much lower than Enterprise and next time, we’ll make sure WE book and we book somewhere else.

Complete scam. Budget will try to trick you into paying them money. They lied to me about the insurance I’d have to pay for my car, were obtuse about extending my rental and trapped me in the lot and would not let me leave to go fill up the tank before returning the car. Do not rent from budget Utah, ever. Even if the price is cheap, they’ll get you on other ways.The company is really poorly run. There is no customer service number and it’s impossible to call a budget Utah location. Just do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere.
