The Capitol Theatre, located in Downtown Salt Lake City, has been a key part of the city's arts and culture scene since its opening in 1913 as the Orpheum Theatre. This historic venue features stunning architecture, a decorated facade, and a charming, intimate atmosphere that makes every performance special. It hosts a variety of events, including ballet by Ballet West, Utah Opera, and the JazzSLC series, offering high-quality entertainment in a grand yet cozy setting. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff, beautiful acoustics, and the venue’s charm, which has been preserved through renovations that enhance its original character. The theater provides comfortable seats (though some find them close and less comfortable) and is conveniently located near bars, restaurants, and hotels. While it is praised for its great performances and atmosphere, some mention that it could benefit from further renovations and improved air conditioning. Overall, the Capitol Theatre remains a treasured and beloved venue for live arts in Salt Lake City.
I love this venue! Beautifully restored historic Theater. Ballet West's productions are always excellent. They had a great 25/26 Season.

had been to many shows when I was younger. Have started taking my kid and it's so fun. Definitely a bonding experience and each show is so enjoyable. Everyone puts so much time into their parts. Always worth it.

Went for a field trip with my granddaughter. It was beautiful. We dressed up and she said she felt like she was at a princess theater, and loved it the dancers were fanomanal.
