This bank is a total nightmare. I closed my debit account because pending holds and returns took forever. I closed my savings account because PayPal debit is on discovers no add list, one thing after another. They expedited my check to a PO Box using FedEx when they don't deliver to PO Boxes. Took 3+ weeks to get my savings account check. CS is useless, all they do is tell you there's nothing they can do or tell you they did something only to find out a week later they did nothing.Don't walk, run from this sorry excuse of a bank.

Best interest rates, but slow to receive funds so beware if you're planning on a time sensitive transaction like closing a house. Plan well in advance. Customer service was very friendly.

I have been a customer with Discover IT credit for 5 years never missed a payment and never later..THey recently contacted me during this covid 19 crisis that they are lowering my credit limmit to500 then closing my account in 30 days for inactivity...my limit was 6800. I contacted them asking if they can keep my account open due to the hard hit on my credit and they said it doesn't matter they are closing my account. I was never contacted by letter or email and was told you did not use the card for over a year, this is unfair especially considering i have been a great customer and the fact the world is in crisis...it shows they have no compassion on there customers will being during a time where everyone is giving they are taking away and making matters worst to save themselves. I will never recommend them to anyone again.

Very disappointed to open a savings account almost 10 days ago only to find out that the transfer never went through due to some kind of "error code." Henceforth, I've not been accumulating any interest and no one from the bank even notified me. I called today only to find out a message was in my secure message center. For something this important, especially for this large of a transfer, someone should have taken the time to call or email me. This is not the way I like starting out a new relationship with a savings account....I'm bummed!

They will literally steal your money. I deposited my tax refund, which they legally cannot hold; instead they froze my ENTIRE account for 2 weeks saying there was a "unusual" activity because they were not able to confirm with IRS my identity. Lies.

Discover has earned its way to three stars from one, soley for the CC side of their business. The Savings Account side remains at one (zero) star. The IT CC card has been trouble-free and handy for one year now. But I had to abandon the savings account...I found it way easier to open up the line of credit with Discover than to open a savings account... So I went elsewhere with that money...

they screw up but its not there money so who cares then the pull the patriot act on you.. then thinking your to stupid to understand.. again its no loss to them as its still not deposited in your account...you can't get the same answer from 3 different people. they walk you thru it and its still not correct. i dumped one bank and this one is even worse... now have been banking my ira (rmd) distribution for 5 years a way that make it very simple and they want to complicate your way of accounting.. since its costing me dollars out of my pocket then when it matures its finding a new home... really think before you use discover bank.

This bank is quick to respond to a question. However if they make a mistake they will blame the customer and defend themself by distorting facts. Each bank person will tell you a different story. They refuse to put their verbal responses into writing. My recommendation would be to stay away from a bank that does not value honesty, integrity, responsibility or its long term customers.

Had similar experiences to others and S.F. However the bank was actually arguing with me about a transfer I made when it was all layed out and I called over 10 times. I had an account with discover bank for almost 10 years now. I did like it because it gave me the most cash back. Lately, maybe due to lack of training there customer service has been subpar, not at all like the adds. i actually had reps argue with me on the phone about if I got a credit on my account about a transfer. I made lots of calls messages regarding the transfer. I told the bank I wouldn't even talk to them any more about it and to close my account after 10 years of banking. The managers are rude and rather than listen to see what you are saying argue with you. In call the calls i made and messages there was very little done to assist me and treat me as a respectful customer after banking with them for 10 years. As others said the transfer took more than three days even though the account was linked. They claimed that there wasn't money sent. Then claimed it got returned and claimed at the same time I got a credit. I am closing all of my accounts with them, the extra $ isn't worth there crappy service. Even when i made enormous efforts to communicate with them and make them aware of everything they were very unprofessional. Until the end most of the time discover was good on my account with security and checking things. I was happy with the service until now. I have had accounts at other banks and don't need to bank with them.

No that they deserve one star but I gave them one just for general principals. DO NOT do business with this bank. They make you walk through glass bare footed to do business with them. Their paperwork requirements are ridiculous and they don't even know w that their own requirements are. After reviewing acct paperwork with three people who all approved to maintain our acct, they came back again and wanted the same info on a different line or refused to open the acct. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BANK They will make your life miserable

Discover is my favorite credit card company! They value my loyalty by ensuring that I'm okay. I've never had any issues.

They DECEIVED me! I was looking to open a savings account with a reputable bank, good interest rate, and good phone app. I found discover had a $200 bonus, clicked their link and read I had to deposit $25k by a certain date in order to get the bonus. I must have missed entering the promotional code somewhere - could be my mistake but that is not my complaint. Before I deposited my money, I called in to make sure I would get the $200 bonus and the rep ensure me my account would be all set and I would definitely get the $200 bonus because they know my acct would qualify for it. Pass forward 6 weeks later, I had done everything required including deposit over $25k. However, still no bonus. I call in and now they're singing a different tune. They told me I now have to provide the exact code for when I signed up and somehow it must match the code when I signed up, which makes no sense. I searched the web gave them all kinds of codes that I found, every code I gave them they sang a different tune as to why I can't get the bonus. Eventually I found the code with the exact date, and they sang a different tune with which contradicted a tune they sang moments earlier. They put me on hold multiple times for extended periods and finally I just said "Ok I give up, you win." 40 minutes of my life wasted and I wasn't going to keep going. I will be withdrawing all my funds ASAP and close my account. I am so annoyed at this that I will start using another credit card instead of discover as well. I have been using their credit card since 1999 and the last few years (5-10 years), I've charged my discover credit card on avg $1k-2k per month. This also brought up another irritating situation I had with them a few years back when their credit service kept sending checks to write, which I would never use. I called in to have them stop as I thought it was risky since they have these checks (prefilled with my acct number) floating around mails. They said they couldn't stop sending the checks because it's part of their service and it's what I signed up for when I became a member.

Opened an online account. Previous reviews are correct about rates and ease of set up. Problem happens when you try to get money out when someone dies. They "do not do trusts" "We dont do wills". More than 6 months trying to get money out of account after multple attempts with all legal documents and using an attorney. Done with them and their cards.

Worst bank ever. It is now Dec 3rd, my father passed away JULY 3rd, and they still have not transferred his savings to his estate account, no matter what paperwork I have supplied them with.

Before considering Discover Bank you may want to opt for a tin can buried in your backyard. If you added up all issues I have with all financial institutions over my lifetime you would not begin to approach all the issues I have had with Discover Bank. If you are a customer watch your statements like a hawk for discrepancies and extra charges.
