Central Book Exchange is a fantastic, 50-year-old used bookstore in the Sugar House neighborhood. It is an amazing bookstore with an absolutely fantastic and best collection of used books. The selection is amazing, featuring a wide variety, including highly sought-after titles, off-the-beaten-track literature, and an excellent selection of LGBTQ+ books. Used books are in excellent condition and available at reasonable, great prices. The staff provides great, genuine customer service. They are welcoming, friendly, and incredibly warm, always willing to help and make great book recommendations. The store offers a points system for trading in books, which makes shopping really affordable. Customers can search the online database, buy online for store pick-up, or have books shipped. The space has a lot of books in a small area. The bookstore is dog-friendly and advertises great events on Facebook. It is a favorite bookstore and a bookstore family that customers definitely recommend and will continue to shop at.

Very friendly staff and they usually have the books I’m looking for and they can order it if not. Their prices are more than fair and the books are always in good condition.

Louie and I had thought this was just a paperback fiction exchange, but it’s much more. New books, poetry, dog-centered classics plus super nice staff! They offered dog treats and expert scratches. Plus drop off books you don’t want. Easy to park in the lot southeast of building.
