Horrible woman. I worked for her for a minute and had to go to California because my dad was in ICU. When I let her know that I wasn't going to be able to come back, she said horrible things to me. My father was sick. He passed away 6 months later. She refused to pay me for the time I did give her, she even lied to the labor commission. No morals, just a really horrible person. Really disorganized frameshop also.

I really enjoyed my experience at Commercial Art and Frame. The owner, who works alone, does not come in early and likes to have appointments for leaving art and choosing frames, as well as picking up the finished pieces. She was willing to work with me when I was coming in late, and she spent two hours with me while I chose the frame. The finished framing was phenomenal, although I tend to pick expensive frames and add extras. Laurie, the owner, gave me good advice and was at the same time very supportive of my taste. She even sent for more samples since I wanted a green frame. Unfortunately, when I left two paintings, one to hold for the new samples to come in, and one to put the other frame on, she put the frame on the wrong painting. Fortunately, it looked good and she gave it to me for cost, and still took the groupon on the other painting. I came back to her and she is doing three more jobs for me, one each month so I can afford them! I won't be dropping in until she says they are done, and I did enjoy her friendlness.

The owner is a racist women who pushed us out from her store. Here is the story-We made a deal for fixing two frames to put the glass on both of them for $75 each. We were informed after 3 months that the frames are fixed. Then we went to the store and surprisingly she said $92 each. Then we quickly responded that the deal was made for $75 each. Then she started to throw her bad words. She showed both the frames but one was fixed with both glasses but another was without a glass. We said the deal was to fix both with glasses but she insisted that it was not possible to fix the other one with glass. Common both are same that we purchased with same price in a store. Wait, after a while she said that the glass can be fixed but she will charge additional $50. Ohh god the deal was $75 each already and she didn't fixed one of them and to get another $50 with 92$ each she made that plan. We said we are not going to pay another $50 and also $92 each which was not an agreement. Then she physically pushed us out from her store. A racist women because I am sure she couldn't do it to white peoples. We went to police department to report the issue. She was also saying that she will sell that to other people. Common that's our property how can you sell that. After explaining the story to the police he called the lady and she said she will fix the other one too but price will be additional $20 instead of $50 with the $92 each which was not on the deal. But we don't want to waste our precious time with such an unprofessional and racist women who dominated us in several ways. Then we decided to throw the money and take our property. Please friends save your time and money. Don't go here for any kind of art and frame work. There are only two reviews but both have very very bad experience. So you can understand how bad it is.

If there were a zero-star option, I would select it. My experience with Commercial Art & Frame was beyond bad, and apparently, I am not the first to feel this way. To me, the frame jobs that I paid significant money for were sloppily constructed, and Laurie Norseth (owner) personally attacked me for questioning her "professional" framing jobs. In fact, I told her that I was unhappy with her work, and I asked if she could re-do a few things. She responded with "You cannot look at my work under a microscope. My work is never going to be perfect. You have to look at it from afar." First of all, I do not expect perfection, but when I pay ~$600 (before Groupon discount) for some sentimental items to be professionally framed, I expect them to be STRAIGHT and ALIGNED. Her work was neither. Furthermore, the inside of the glass is scratched, the glue on the frames is exposed, the frames are not evenly put together, the matting has obvious blemishes and was cut poorly (like with a dull razor), and I could go on. Saying it is sloppy may even be an understatement- in my opinion, it is careless and entirely overpriced. Beyond the quality of her work, her website says that she offers a COMPLETE satisfaction guarantee. When I asked for a refund in exchange for her materials back, she refused. Not only that, but four days later, she filed a police report accusing me of withholding payment (which I had not done, but is my consumer RIGHT to do- it's called a Chargeback) and saying that I had stolen items from Commercial Art & Frame (which I had not done). She attacked my personhood in her angry messages, and harassed me by sending an abundance of emails when I sent her one to request my money back. I am defeated in this experience because I do not have the time or energy to fight her for my money back. But, I will be getting the pictures re-framed by Art & Frame Station, a high quality frame business nearby, which offers fantastic customer service. Therefore, I hope this review serves to protect those reading it from a nightmare situation, as I feel I have had.

I had the worst experience imaginable with this place. I usually allow a few small mistakes without getting offended. In this case there were too many to count. I originally purchased a Groupon for this place. I walked in with the very expensive painting still in the cardboard cover to get a quote and pick out frames. The lady was very nice and helpful. But almost too nice, she shortened my name and called me a nickname as if we had known each other in years, which I felt was very unprofessional. The place was very crowded and she was the only one who appeared to be working. She moved slowly and said she was just in a car accident. I ordered the frame and left my painting in the cardboard cover with her and was told it would be done by the end of the week. By Monday I hadn't heard from them, so I called and left a voice message. Tuesday was my wedding anniversary and I explained I was getting item done as a gift. I took my husband in with me since they didn't answer the phone again. Drove all the way over there and it wasn't ready. I was told to call before I come in. I explained that I did call and had left voice messages. She apologized and explained that they don't answer for non (801) numbers. I again was assured it would be done by the end of the week. I tried to stop by Friday and they were closed early. Monday I tried to call again no answer. Tuesday I stopped by, it now being two weeks since I had dropped it off. She said it was finished and went to the back to get it. Then she came back and said "the glass wasn't in it". I asked to see it without the glass and she said I would want to see it. She said she would have it done in 30 minutes. She told me that usually they have people make appointments to pick up items. I explained that I had tried several times to call in again. I left to come back in 30 minutes. I wasn't gone very long when she called me back. Again there would be a delay in my framing. She explained that the frame wasn't done at all. (No wonder she would let me see it, sounded weird that the frame would be done but not the glass ). The item would be ready for pick up later that day. I explained calmly my frustrations and that I didn't have time to wait and that the gift was now a week late and would be later still. I told her I was told originally it would only take a few days to get the frame in, which was more then they claim with their online ad of same day service. While I was talking to her, she interrupted me and started yelling at me saying she has been trying her best at working since her car wreck and she didn't have to take groupon customers like myself. I understand how hard it must be working while you are in pain, but communication is necessary. I finally got my painting back on Friday, or Saturday. It was framed well, hence the one star; however, the painting has a crease in it as if it were folded and creased in half. :( very obvious and distracting from the painting. I didn't see it while in the dim light of the store. but once it was on the wall it was very obvious. Of course there is no way it was us, we kept it in the cardboard cover and then got it back in a sealed frame. Very disappointed in the service. Price didn't seem much lower then other places with the groupon. She gave no appologies or discounts for poor customer service since I was a groupon. They have a lot of work to do to get me back as a customer.

Treated my photographs with great care. Framing was spot on--great attention to detail! Quick turn-around! Will be back!
