Continental Bank (Surge)CROSS Posted by: dlatham itI'm one not to normally write reviews but Surge really pushed my buttons. Mind you what I am about to post, on the "due date" I was invited to apply for a credit line increase.Having never missed a payment since being a card holder, I recently let my payment lapse by ONE day. Simple over sight as I was dealing with a minor health issue the payment escaped me.While technically the payment was not late because what Continental doesn't tell it's customers in ANY literature, Surge (Continental Bank)subtracts 3 days off of their 30 day reporting period (so only 27 days) my payment came in on the 29th day not the 30th so it technically I wasn't late. I digress, having utilized this card to rebuild my credit; I thought they would be more willing to assist with a small speed bump along my road to credit health. Instead there was zero support for those of us that made bad decisions in the past but worked hard to rebuild a healthy credit lifestyle. They give you ONE unknown extra day, to the customer, a "cushion day" to get a payment in. You would think if they truly wanted to assist people with rebuilding they would call the customer before the account goes late (as other companies do). Not only to support good credit health but good customer service as well; instead they wait one more day to give you a "this is an attempt to collect a debt" call. Not willing to review my payment history with them or (with my other creditors) to forgive a clear oversight on my part; they were more than willing to immediately hit you with a late fee and send the late payment to Transunion and Experian. Surge claims to help you repair your credit and work with you but that is a marketing lie..... live and learn. DO NOT USE SURGE! There are PLENTY of other more reliable credit building cards like SELF and Credit Karma. Bye Bye Surge. P.s. I was forced to give a single star because there is no such thing as no stars or a negative rating.

The best in customer service. Andy Garland went above and beyond to take care of us during the entire process. He even responded to help us on the weekend - taking all our calls and walking us through the process. It is rare to find such exceptional customer support. Thank you Andy for your patience and professionalism and really going out of your way to help your clients! Thank you Continental Bank for hiring such a true professional and someone that puts the customer first.

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Andy Garland is probably one of the best in customer service. He has gone above and beyond every time I have worked with him And spent today (Saturday) taking multiple phone calls to help a friend of mine with her loan. He is patient and kind and so professional. I wish I could give this bank 10 stars for hiring someone as exceptional as Andy Garland to represent them.

I was blown away by the service I received from Continental Bank, and Brian Bodily in particular. I was trying to secure a PPP loan for Covid-19 relief and Brian was able to push me through the process so smoothly, when other banks wouldn't even look at my application. He was kind, very responsive, and so helpful. I would absolutely recommend working with Continental Bank!

As an accounting firm, we tried to help many of our clients get funding during the PPP loan fiasco. Many banks we worked with were super unresponsive or weren't willing to give our smaller clients the time of day. Continental Bank personally handled every single thing we took to them. They handled everything from the biggest loans to the smallest with a white glove experience. They communicated through every step of the process. Nothing was lost into the big black box. Because of them we were able to help our clients get millions in PPP funding they desperately needed and we were heroes to our clients. The real heroes though were Continental Bank. Without them we would have fallen flat on our faces with nowhere to turn. Night after night they responded to our emails well after business hours. Our commitment to our clients was matched by their commitment as well. I'll invite these guys to my birthdays AND my funeral!!

Brian and Continental Bank were incredibly helpful in securing our PPP funds during this COVID19 pandemic. Banks and credit unions we have worked with for years (decades even) kept giving us the run around, and I'm afraid we would have missed out if not for the referral I got to call Brian. He was very efficient and kept me thoroughly updated during the process. We got the funds within about a week and a half. I notice they do loans for businesses and equipment. I'd definitely be willing to work with them in the future.
