Deceptive Pricing Practices - Buyer Beware!I recently received a notice that the monthly cost for my storage unit was going to double, with the reason given as "market changes." This came as a total shock, as their website still advertises the same low promotional rate that drew me in as a new customer initially.When I inquired about this discrepancy, I was told that the advertised rate is only for brand new customers for the first 3-6 months before skyrocketing back up. However, this crucial detail about it being a temporary discount was never disclosed to me when I signed up and paid my initial rental fees.As a consumer, I feel completely misled by this company's lack of transparancy. Luring in new business with rates that will double after just a few months, without any upfront notice of this bait-and-switch pricing model, is unethical and deceptive.If I had known the "amazing deal" they advertised was short-lived, I would have made a different decision on where to rent my storage space. No business should be allowed to pull such an underhanded bait-and-switch scheme on customers.Due to these shady pricing tactics, I will not be continuing as their client. I am removing all of my belongings and will be taking my business elsewhere to a storage company that actually believes in honest, transparent practices. I caution anyone looking at their promotions to be very wary and have them confirm in writing what the future rates will be, since they are not upfront about the extreme price hikes coming.

In my opinion they are a dishonest company. I was renting a unit from them after about six months they sent an email letting me know that my rent was going to go up by more than double. I will never rent another space from them ever again. Not to mention I moved my stuff to a different place with a 10 by 12 unit for less than the 5 by 10 unit was before they doubled the price.

It is nice to see great reviews! I wish I could however, in Farmington, Ct. This company is raising always the monthly rate; this last one was $80.00/month.Not allowed to call them; their upper management refused phone calls!The storage I moved into was to be 10x15 and when measured it was 10x13... they could have cared less... much deceit and lack of integrity here. I would never recommend these people. I already warned a friend in TN who is in property management to never use this company.The staff are the greatest people!

Renters beware of low internet rates that sharply increase after a few months. Extra Space recently acquired Life Storage. Life Storage intentionally does not disclose that starting rates are temporary internet specials that expire. Nowhere in the month to month rental agreement or on the website is this stated. After 4 months, my rent increased by $67/month. After calling my location, they reduced that by $16. I am still left with a 40% increase in rent after only 4 months into my lease!! Extra Space/Life Storage seems like a great place when you are coming in the door, but are actually deceiving customers with non-transparent and dishonest business practices.

I'm so upset with extra space storage I usually get a call and I didn't get a call from the one on main Street in Glen Ellyn about my July rent and I was assuming that it was paid by my bank and I was able to access my storage for July. when I should have got a call in July to notify me and now I'm in a hole with my other bills and the only thing I got out of this is fifty five dollars off of my bill when it wasn't the customer fault I should have got one month free or half off .I am surprised at extra space storage . This is something that hurted my pockets and I will like to talk to corporate cause this was a very upset situation !!!!! This money met up with my others bill !!!!! So surprised

I spoke to a representative about obtaining a unit to place my mother's items in. I explained my mother suffered from dementia and I would be moving her in with me. I explained I needed long term storage and would most likely not move her things out until she passes away. I was quoted $150 a month with insurance. Although, it was a little high, I felt the facilities were clean so I got the unit. 3 months later, my fee went from $150 to $230 with no notice.I was told the company has the right to raise the rate every year, but it seldomly raises twice within a year. They told me they cannot assure me it won't be raised again within the year. This has created a hardship on me and it will go up again. This is bad business and predatory business. I can only imagine this happening to others poorer then myself, who could lose all their belonging as they get behind on payments when rates are raised like this. This facility is in a poor area in Atlanta, GA (Cleveland Ave). I hate when companies move into distressed areas and pose as good business only to take advantage of the poor. Moving everything out and getting a different unit with another company will cost about $1,000 so I'm stuck for now. Im curious of the percentage of customer that have defaulted and lost their belongings in my area. CEO, president and management should be ashamed. But I'm sure they are not. SAD!!!

Prompt courteous staff. Never had a problem with communication. Unit and building clean and secure. Loved the inside storage aspect and ease of access, especially when I was constantly forgetting my code. Someone was always there to help. Definitely would use this location again for any storage needs.

Lety with the Irvine, CA facility on Warner was a great help! She was able to make sure we got the right units for our needs in order to accommodate a large moving truck, make sure our units were near each other and close to the entrance. Great customer service. Highly recommend.

Extra Space Storage on E Sprague was amazing!! The price was right for what we needed and the staff were so nice and very helpful!! They made you feel like you were family!! I would highly recommend Extra Space to anyone and everyone!! Thank you for being so truly wonderful!!

Customer service is EXCELLENT! AJ and Beverly are very friendly staff and knowledgeable. Appreciate all they have have done to make my move to Charlotte and into my new home. Highly recommended!
