I was double charged for a DJ Controller and the store told me they could do NOTHING about it. I called in spoke with a manager on duty when I noticed the second charge. I was told that nothing could be done from their end, and he would need to contact their accounting team to refund me and would call me back as soon as he got ahold of them. After a few days with no call back, I called the store for a status update. They told me that the accounting team got back to them days prior, and instructed me to dispute the charge with my bank. I now am having to wait weeks for my bank to look into this, with a chance of not getting the money back. I will never shop or recommend Guitar Center again after dealing with these "managers" who seemingly have no power to resolve any sort of problem for their customers.

I've been going to the Taylorsville Guitar Center for decades. The staff has changed, but the feel has not. Every time I walk in, at least 2-3 people ask how you're doing, if they can help you find anything, if you have questions, if you'd like to try something, etc. Always professional, always helpful, always for the love of music. My most recent visit (Jan 2024) I work with a gentleman named Proof. He not only took the time to answer my questions, provide his thoughts, and give advice, he also commended what I've been using while giving ideas for how it could improve with different equipment for different scenarios. If I could describe Guitar Center succinctly, it'd be passionate about music and the people who create it. Consistently excellent experiences, keep it up!

It's like home away from home! Both my boys are always asking to go to guitar center, I love going because the selection is crazy good, The staff is actually knowledgeable, and work within the knowledge range from guitar, bass, keys, drums, even down to your recording equipment and live sound and lighting setups!!! A must visit!!! ? ??????

It's a great place to take a used bass guitar and get it repaired, not disappointed, with the result.

Kind of crowded, and some of the staff wasn't super friendly, but they have a great inventory of everything and it's usually pretty easy to find what you're looking for.

5 Stars for an incredible staff and repair team. Rodney helped me restore an old Ibanez guitar from my childhood to perfect working condition. The staff gave me recommendations on local venues to jam with other musicians as well. Very helpful and very knowledgeable people here.

The staff at our GC are phenomenal. Knowledgeable musicians who care about getting things right for their clients. In the past few months they've listened, assisted, and done the extra-mile things that are the hallmark of genuine customer service. My favorite instruments, the ones that I play the most and sound the best, have come from GC SLC??

This store is usually busy, and it's always loud, but everyone there really seems to know their stuff. Especially Ryan & Aleric (sorry don't know how to spell his name) in the guitar department. In short great store, just have patience.

This is an update to an earlier post made about less than desirable customer service at this store. After dealing with an issue on a new guitar and the ensuing insurance claim, I am happy to report that management at this store went above and beyond to make sure my wife and I were taken care of. To be fair, our original issue happened during the holidays and it was understandable that the staff was under a lot of stress due to holiday sales, as well as a huge spike in business during that time. When we went in to get our replacement guitar, we first went into the acoustic guitar room to start looking at some alternatives. Without even speaking to the staff, the manager came in and started helping us make a decision. I had never met him in person and he did not know who I was until checkout. From the time that he engaged with us until we left the store, we received incredible customer service. He helped us narrow down the right guitar for my wife who has just started learning to play. He talked us through some options and actually talked us out of going with a higher priced brand. Once my wife made her choice and it was time for checkout, I let him know that we had an in store credit from the original insurance claim on the previous guitar. He really went out of his way to apologize and threw in some great perks (strings, guitar strap, capo, etc.) which was completely unexpected, and we did not feel entitled to receive. Thank you Guitar Center, we appreciate your help!

Never been in a music store before and I was wanting to learn how to play guitar as a hobby. The young man that helped me was just awesome. Took his time and explained everything to me and made me feel very comfortable.

Walking into the store was my first and only experience with guitar Center. And frankly I would never go there again. I came in looking for a starter guitar for my daughter who I don’t know if she would even end up playing it after she receives the Christmas gift. I said I wanted to spend about $100 And they kept pushing me to spend more money than what my budget was. They do have guitars that are around my price range, but they kept telling me that they’re “hard to play” (like as if a learner would even know what IS “hard to play” since they have never played anything before) and they’re not worth anything. I wonder why on earth they even sell them then. I asked that question and they said well we sell those to people who can’t afford anything more. They obviously did not listen to me when I said my budget was about $100 and they just kept pushing me to spend about double that cost. I was so frustrated because they just kept not listening to me that I eventually just had to leave the store. I will never go back. I am very disappointed and they gave me a little bit of a snobby attitude because I am not able to spend the kind of money they would want me to spend.
