This location closes at 11pm. I placed a reservation for 11pm and no one was there upon my arrival to the counter. No one contacted me to indicate they were closing early which made us incur in additional transportation costs because we had to return the next morning to pickup our car. Many others were going through the same, including people that had to travel to far away locations. I placed a complaint with Hertz and received an email from Jared, “Operations Manager”. I replied to his email with more details and never heard back from him. I had Hertz as my preferred car rental company, but this was totally disrespectful.

Car was ok, the person at the front desk was nice the real problem I have is with the people in the garage. The person checking in the return was extremely pushy. In feeling like I had to rush for her convenience I left my credit card holder in the car. I was in Salt Lake for an interview I flew in went to the interview and flew back in the same day. So either I left my wallet at the company I was interviewing for... or it's in the car. Filed a lost item report and guess what it is nowhere to be found. What's more likely the company is keeping it or that a Hertz employee saw the wallet and decided it was theirs now... It would be nice to be able to directly communicate with someone there, but Hertz customer service doesn't even know the direct line. Leaving the wallet is my fault, but Hertz knows someone on their staff pocketed it.

Classic used car company horror story...In early March, we rented an SUV, Nissan Rogue, from Hertz at the Salt Lake City airport only to find out, in the worst possible way, that this car was completely unequipped to handle snow. It turns out this SUV, which Hertz is renting out during winter in a snowy, mountainous region next to a dozen ski resorts, not only does not have all wheel drive, a state trooper told us the tires were in terrible shape, as we waited over two hours on a highway for Hertz roadside assistance that never came *but that we were charged for* (no joke, fighting to get refunded for a service they disastrously didn't provide). We left around 5:30 in the morning for the airport and almost immediately had no traction on the highway as four wheel drive SUVs and sedans with appropriate tires drove by. We managed to make it to the shoulder with the help of a state trooper and made our first of several calls to hertz roadside assistance. No one we spoke to was able to deliver us any actual help or assistance, despite one agent saying a tow truck was on its way and could take us to the airport. This ended up being cancelled for unclear reasons as other hertz agents struggled to reach tow trucks and AAA, at one point an agent confessed to dialing a defunked number. All this went on as my 6 month pregnant wife and I waited in vain for hours. Finally, when it was clear Hertz was simply unable to provide any assistance, we were able to get off the shoulder, again with the help of a state trooper, and precariously make our way to the airport. We only made our flight because it was delayed, but all told, it was a horrendous, dangerous situation that Hertz put us in by renting out the world's only two wheel drive SUV.

Pretty mediocre service - sent me up and down the stairs back and forth to different desks (instead of having a staff member do that leg work) and I ended up with a crappier car because they had parked my nicer car (I saw it driving out because a staff member told me) in the wrong spot. First world problem, sure but I’ve been a Hertz supporter for a long time and expected better service.

Charged more than agreement, never mentioned they upgraded the vehicle at the desk.

This place runs the classic bait and switch. I reserved a car and pre-paid. Upon pickup, of course they conveniently didn't have the car I reserved. He said he could get me into a different car a little cheaper. He showed me where they "refunded" the original amount and charged me the new amount. This was nothing more than a bold face LIE. Upon returning home, I find the original amount was only credited to a higher rate....for a lesser car. Hertz 800 number is worthless. Unscrupulous, lying agents. I've filed a complaint with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, so have fun with that losers.

“After looking forward to our family trip to Salt Lake City, we were left in a very challenging position by Hertz Rent a Car. Despite having a confirmed reservation and being a president circle member, no Hertz. Staff were available to allow me to get my car. I supplied my flight information to Hertz so it was very clear in the reservations that I’d be picking up the car after 11 PM. The only person there was a very rude person who claimed he worked for a third-party company doing returns for Hertz. There were six other families stranded like mine And there seemed to be no immediate available solution provided by the Hertz to address our situation. This left us stranded at the airport with no viable transportation option to reach our hotel. We had to resort to booking an Uber, which cost us an additional $100, a significant unplanned expense that impacted our travel budget. The lack of communication and assistance from Hertz during this stressful time was particularly disappointing. As loyal customers, we expected a certain level of service and reliability that was not met. This experience has certainly affected our view of Hertz Rent a Car and has made us reconsider our future car rental choices. We hope Hertz can improve its customer service and ensure such inconveniences are not faced by others.”

I've had a reservation to pick up my car at this location on February 26th at 11:00 p.m.. I am a president circle member. When I got here, I didn't find my name on the list, no one was on the front desk, and no one was behind the gold member desk either. So picked the car from the member aisle and proceeded to the gate to check out, only to be told to "come back tomorrow" .I had to stand in the middle of the snow to take an Uber, and paid nearly a hundred bucks to get to my hotel. Of course I'm not coming back tomorrow to pick up my car which was supposed to be ready for me today.Terrible service hertz

****updated***This is the third time I’ve reserved a car from this Hertz location and the third time I’ve walked away without a car. I don’t know why we keep giving Hertz more opportunities to earn our business but this is certainly the last time. Chris the manager was incredibly rude and condescending when speaking to me this evening and was utterly unhelpful. Never again will we book with Hertz.I see that the Hertz owner replied and since there is no way for me to reply back I’m going to put this here. The owner assumed that the reason I walked away without a rental was due to lack of inventory which is not correct. The first two times my flight got in late and although Hertz customer service assured me that there would be someone waiting for me so that I could still rent my car that was not the case. This most recent time was a different issue. And I also happened to notice that they did not address the fact that the manager was rude and disrespectful to me In front of other customers and his employees. I am a young Hispanic woman who is traveling alone And wonder if he would’ve spoken to a white man in the same manner?.

A bunch of crooks. Showed me the price and literally used a yellow marker to circle it and show me. I return the car, the price is $300 more on my emailed receipt. I looked at the printed receipt. They had stapled another new receipt with more "daily upgrade" charges that was $304 more without telling me. And she did it with a pleasant bland Utah smile. Ughh. The car had 45,000 miles, a wobbly tire, and needed new windshield wipers. The car smelled like someone with BO just had dinner. Sliding in the snow with old tires. No, this was not Dollar, this was Hertz, supposedly the "good" car rental company. We called them, nothing done.

Was charged for gas even though I requested multiple times to fill my own tank. I filled my tank prior to returning and was still charged. No one will fix it so I was charged $40 for nothing. No one is willing to help fix the problem either.

Deceitful business practices.Accepting the 'Loss damage waiver' is not waiving the insurance, it is purchasing something that sounds just like insurance and has the same cost as insurance. The representative used misleading language to sell me a policy I did not want or need. They also signed me up for roadside service without asking.Review the itemized charges before signing anything.I called and asked to have the charges removed and their response was 'sorry, we have your signature on file'UPDATE, after reviewing the situation Hertz did NOT refund the fees. Instead they chose to hide behind the signed contract. My warnings above not to trust this company stand, and to review each line item carefully before signing or paying anything.
