This place has been on my list to try for a while now and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious each and every dish was that we tried. The elk dish was one of the best things I’ve eaten in months. Absolutely brilliant. I will definitely be back, and I will be ordering more elk for sure. Make sure you try the bread bread pudding for dessert. Wowsers.

It was alright. The only cons was there was too much bleu cheese on the salad that it ended up being very salty. The shrimp and grits were salty as well. Is it because we’re in Salt Lake? One of the staff seemed high.

I will start with the $54 bowl of "chowder". It was a small bowl of soup with a very very salty broth, not a chowder. Felt like we were on candid camera. A couple pieces of fish, a couple of potatoes, a few clams or mussels. If I came again I wouldn't pay $5 for the soup/ really should have sent it back. The other things were fine but nothing special. Funeral croquettes were good and appropriately priced, The king crab was good but 3 small bites. The cabbage was fine but heavily dressed. Atmosphere was nice and service was good.

Nice chic restaurant on the 6th floor with good views. All of the food was really good and they had nice drinks.

Gotta love tapas style tastings! Everything was so fresh, flavorful and unique, absolutely filled with local inspiration. Would love to pick a favorite but LOVED everything- the oysters (topped with beef tartare??! Phenomenal.), ahi sashimi with pomegranate seeds, pistachio oil and blood orange (YUM!), such great veggie offerings including the cauliflower and do not miss the cabbage. Yes. CABBAGE. Oh and the shepherd's bread from an heirloom 150 year old sourdough starter with salted butter so good you can't stop eating?! AND take some home too?? Finish with any one of the desserts but the bread pudding was pretty mind blowing. The wine list was great and surprisingly not overly expensive. Also loved the vibe with rooftop views, firepits and modern cool factor. To top it all off the service was top notch! We very much enjoyed our special evening with Reagan- she was a genuine, entertaining delight. Run, don't walk! (And there is curling available on the rooftop! How fun is that?!)

This place was great. Went there for a little Galentine's brunch. The small places are delicious, and I wish I could have ordered all of them. The staff were extremely nice, accommodating, and fun! It was a very pleasurable experience that I can't wait to revisit.

Decent views, abysmal food. Bad cocktails. I'm guessing the positive reviews were paid- I can assure you I paid too much for the privilege of bringing you this review ??

Great service. Ross was very knowledgeable about the menu and was attentive to our table even on a busy night. Atmosphere is good, views are good if you get sat facing the right direction. The bar looked like the best seats in the house. Food was good, we only tried a few dishes out of the expansive menu and wished we had room for more. Papas bravas and shrimp could've used some salt, shepherd's pie was a little one dimensional but good, tuna tosta had great flavor and was probably my favorite of the night. Definitely a good place to bring a group. Would love to return and

We got the Feeling Spritzy cocktain, Murphy Goode merlot, papas bravas, crispy brussel sprouts, and the elk tenderloin. The cocktail was great, nice and citrusy and not too sweet, partner enjoyed their wine. The papas bravad had a lovely soft texture and the creamy sauce on top was so good. The brussel sprouts were the better of the two starters, the bacon and pomegranate were just perfect. Now the elk, fantastic!! My partner had never tried elk before and I am glad their first experience with jt was so good. It was well seasoned, the main source of salt was that winderful iberico bacon - so good. The berry aspect went so well and the sage really added to it. Extremely well balanced and so delicious. We got their tartas de santiago(I think that was the name) ots a flourless lemin cake. For sure more on the tart than sweet side. My partner loved it, so if you are looking for a desert that isn't very sweet its a great way to end the meal. Our server Juan was great as well, took good taking care of us without hovering. We went at night and it was so a warm and cozy atmosphere- worked well for a romantic setting. Its up on the 6th floor so the nighttime view was lovely. It was quiet expensive, but well worth it. Shout out to Captian at the front as well, what a cool guy.

Unless you're staying at the Hyatt Regency it still feels like Mar Muntanya is building traction in the Salt Lake food scene. Executive Chef Tyson Peterson is one of the best in the state. The ambiance of the restaurant is very relaxed and upscale, with comfortable lighting, and live music (depending on the day, I'm sure). The cocktails are beautiful and delicious. There's not a huge cocktail selection, but everything I've tried has been very well presented and well thought out. The menu items are served Tapas style, which allows you to try a wide variety of foods that can also be shared. Everything that we ordered came out at a perfect temperature and was extremely fresh. I tend to be a picky eater, but the way the dishes are prepared make it exciting to try new things. I've now been to Mar Muntanya for both their Sunday brunch, and for a nice weekday dinner, and really can't say enough nice things. If you're looking for a cool new spot to check out in Salt Lake, I really don't think you can go wrong if you give this place a try.

We came up here to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the view. We had to order some food to have drinks so we got the patatas bravas and the endive salad. Both were really good! My friend got the campfire old fashioned which she really liked. They have really cool yurts on the patio you can eat in. But they are reservation only and were filled up. Great spot! The brunch menu also looked really good.

Such a magical date night. Never eaten anywhere like this. We booked one of the outdoor pods during a heavy snow, and the staff was friendly, professional, and never complained about shuffling back and forth from our table in the snow.

The bartender raved about the octopus being suved and so so tender. Not chared at all. So I got it. It was half burnt and oh so tough. Perhaps they didn't have any left suved. This was not good. The profiles on the plate were great but overall a disapoinntment. Exact opposite of what I was told it would be. The interesting thing is the bartender look right at my dish and seen it was burnt. He asked my bf how everything was and of coarse my bf liked his shepherds pie. He never asked me about my burnt tough octopus. I spent $100 there and I don't care to try it again. I feel the bartender should have seen the food he served me and talked to me about it. Instead he went in the back and told the chef I loved it. However he never asked me how it was. He assumed. Terrible experience for me. Kind bartender but very disconnected with costumers.
