This place took our priceline reservation and then when we arrived the nasty front desk clerk said my license was in the same city as them and west valley utah has a law against a person staying at a hotel in the same city??Checking into that, why did they and priceline accept the reservation with my new west valley address??Red roof is horrible priceline couldn't get ahold of the front from he'll and we had to reverse the charge with our credit union who happily helped us.Avoid this place at all costs!!!!Noteworthy details: Horrible experience don't stay here and their staff needs fired.

***Just so noone else is blind sided, there is a 200 dollar deposit at this location*** When booking on a third party vendor, this information is NOT shown! The rude front desk girl will argue and tell you that you didnt pay attention. But, 3rd PV have noway of knowing this! And a 200 dollar deposit is ridiculous! They demand it at check-in yet take 7-10 business days to refund it. I came for work and didnt have my work cc. So at midnight I was unable to gind another hotel and ended up sleeping in my car until morning! There are lots of places that are nicer and have more amenities with a deposit thats much less!

Terrible place to stay, a guy walked out and smelled of smoke, they say no smoking near premises. That’s a lie. Walked to the door and it’s has rips in it, the first light switch in the room didn’t work. The cabinet doors are breaking/broken. The floor was dirty and looks like it hasn’t been mopped for a week. They are charging $200 for incidental charges. Well they should have the money to fix up these issues if it was a person that rented because they just got all that money. They also charge another fee that wasn’t mentioned. Definitely do not recommend staying here.

Place is cheap but horrible service. Not very clean. Had hard time getting clean towels and even toilet paper. No hot water and hardly any water pressure. No heat either. Had to get a new key to the door multiple times… would not recommend unless there wasn’t anything else available

We really liked this place and wanted to continue coming, but when I came back to check in for another weekend, they said we were on the “do not rent” list. It’s late at night no one called to let us know. When we inquired about why we were on the do not rent list, they said there were cigarette butts in our toilet. My boyfriend and I don’t smoke. I lost $200 deposit and I was stuck looking for a hotel late at night. I tried to call the GM and left a msg for her (heather) to call me back, I’m still waiting. What does that tell you?

THEY WILL RUN A BACKGROUND CHECK WITHOUT FIRST INFORMING YOU OR RECEIVING YUR CONSENT! booked a 2 night stay with hometown Studios through Expedia and it appeared to be an ok place to stay online, but when I went to check in I noticed that they had huge electric gates guests would be required to go through in order to park at the hotel. As I was walking to the front lobby, I also saw 3 or 4 big signs staying all hotel guests, and any visitors would have to show ID to be a le to enter the hotel. I found that to be a little intrusive, but I figured I had already prepared paid for the room +$200 deposit, so I would just try and stick it out. When I made it to the front desk, I was told by the manager that they didn't have the room with 2 double beds I had already paid for. I told them I would compromise and take a room with only one double bed if they would reimburse me the difference. Then the manager informed that they had run a background check on me and I had outstanding warrants. I later found this to be untrue. At no time did I sign a paper giving my consent and so I reported the hotel to the FTC fraud line. Don't stay here!! I AM ALSO CALLING ATTORNEYS FOR DAMAGES

I express my gratitude towards the managers of Home Town Studios Malinda and Meagan they are your go to people they are very wonderful, kind and friendly people. I stayed there for about 10 to 11 months I paid my rent ahead and alway on time. I also did extra things for them with out them asking because I cared and because they couldn't keep a trash collector I would help make sure the trash was picked up and in the bin for the next pick up day. They are the ones who made my stay there comfortable. I have nothing bad to say about those 2 wonderful people. Thanks again.Food & drinks: The food and drinks were good because you have Walmart at there back door that you could walk to and get food it's in a good location for anything you wanted even the chevron gas station that was there as well if you wanted coffee for your wake up go go juice early in the morning and that drive to work.

I must tell you that we have unfortunately been having to stay in a hotel for by far longer than we had anticipated. As we were waiting on our new place, our move in date has been pushed back so we had to find another hotel in the meantime. A friend told us to come here and I will be honest the rooms are most definitely not up to my personal standards, however I must tell you Meagan at the front desk is by far, hands down the reason why we have stayed. Regardless of the time or day if I am in the need of anything and I mean anything from calling her to say “hey the people above or next door are loud beyond measure” (which honestly rarely happened) to needing toiletries, linens or even the water pressure, she makes sure our needs are met beyond expectation and is always so kind and professional and truly is a pleasure to talk to. This place should be elated she is at the front desk working with so many people. She’s the reason we’ve stayed. Thank you so much, Meagan!!! You are one of a kind and are truly a pleasure to work with.Food & drinks: So many different restaurants within an 8th of a mile. Walmart, Target, Ross……great shopping stores literally within a half mile. Freeway access the same!

I booked my reservation online for a staycation. When I went to check I was told I was not allowed to stay because I am a local. WHAT! Their corporate policy is to not rent to locals. Thanks a lot for the warning. I know my cash is as green as anyone who lives more than 20 miles from your property. I did double check to see if the policy was mentioned. It is mentioned way at the bottom of the policy. This SHOULD be at the top of your page.

I made the mistake of using Expedia to book my trip this time. Where this hotel is listed as an “excellent” place I might add…where they allowed a booking of a flight and hotel that didn’t match up with hours that the lobby is open. My flight got in at midnight after front desk closing. Front desk called me and explained to me the situation that they are short staffed (seemingly due to the manager scaring off employees I would assume) and that she would have everything ready for me and to just call the number on the door when I arrived. It took me forever to pick up my rental car and I finally made it to the hotel at about 2:30am maybe? I call the number multiple times and no answer. I then prepare myself to sleep outside of the hotel that I have paid for already. Thank GOD I had a rental car or I would have physically been stuck outside with nowhere to go. Thankfully I had my own blanket to keep me warm. Finally at about 3:30am the security guy comes and asks me if he can help me with something. I explain the situation to him and he immediately lets me in my room and instructs me to come down in the morning to actually check in. I call Expedia because I am so appalled that this even happened in the first place and they explain that they have already paid the hotel so their hands are tied and can’t give me a refund. They even call the front desk where the manager explains to them (who also said the manager was unpleasant to them) that they don’t give refunds and that he needs to talk to me in person about it. Mind you I’m on my time of the month and there isn’t even a trash can or garbage bag in my room to throw my feminine products away, nor is it anything like the photos or even anywhere near an excellent place to stay. There is also no hot water. So I go to the front desk where I walk into a conversation being had with another person and the front desk gal about how her hands are tied and she has to listen to Joe because he is corporate- so he has already upset someone else off before I even talk to him. He is clearly annoyed and immediately starts in with disregard to anyone’s feelings or well being explaining that he doesn’t give refunds point blank period. I ask him even if it was their fault? He rudely responds “nope!” And I also point out that he has nothing but disrespect and obviously doesn’t care about the situation and he shrugs his shoulders and responds again with “it’s policy. No refunds.” I’m pissed at this point. I then ask for a trash can, after he tells Expedia they don’t just give trash cans to people and that he would have to go find me one. I have already paid for my stay so I’ll be damned if I leave and let him make twice the money on this HORRIBLE room. I’m genuinely surprised there weren’t bed bugs to top it all off.The man clearly has no care in the world for not only the people staying here but also his employees and I would be beside myself if that man were the face of my company. They way he talks to people is ridiculous. These guys should be embarrassed to have him working for them.Last night I call the front desk and talk to them about how I still had no hot water on top of it all, and that maybe they could reimburse me with a later check out ONLY due to the fact that on top of my horrendous stay here, I tested positive for Covid and my flight didn’t leave until 8pm. Check out is 11am. Apparently Joe never called the plumber - again because he doesn’t care about how comfortable people’s stays here are or not. Well guess who decided to be spiteful and not allow for a later check out? Mind you there are signs everywhere that state to ask ahead of time for later check out so I know it’s possible. The gal at the front desk was kind enough to move me over to a room with hot water. Which this new room didn’t have a trash can or a room phone for emergencies I might add.I have never had this awful of a stay anywhere else, ever. You can also tell that the floors don’t get mopped, and even the towels provided have holes. How cheap?! Finally after a breakdown they allowed me a later check out.

Arrived at hotel it was overbooked no room available, even though I had a confirmed booking. Terrible business practices there was one other in the lobby with the same issue and two others that left while we were there so it was not an Expedia error it is 100% bad business practice messing around customers. Don't book here if you actually want a place to stay.
