Finally a venue that if you pay for a VIP section in the bar area, that it stays private. No drunken girls getting past security to muck up your space. Loved having our own bartender and no lines. Worth every penny for our tickets for fight night! Plus we get to watch badass Brytni Parsons fight above the ring with plenty of screens for our private viewing away from pesky walkers blocking our view!

I don't like this venue bc I'm 5'4 and can't see the artist ever from the ground level. The sound sucks when ur upstairs too

venue was cool and loud. there was a certain security guard that was being extremely creepy towards everyone tho. venue should do WAY BETTER about hiring their staff or at least hire people who aren’t rude.

kinda lame that they consider chains a weapon even though their website doesn't say that it's considered a weapon ?? cool that i can "hide" them around the property or just bring them back to my car maybe even give guests a warning before they start queuing in lineadding a second star because once i talked to a kind staff member, they explained it was state law that chains are considered weapons. i still think it should be on the website since chains are HUGE apart of alt culture and most people in the scene don't personally consider it a weapon

I've never written a bad review before, but this felt warranted: If you have any mild issue with loud sounds, I would proceed with strong caution. I've been to a lot of concert venues and this one is by far the LOUDEST. I understand that concerts are loud, but this venue is too much. I was wearing earplugs AND noise canceling headphones, it was still too much! My boyfriend was wearing OSHA GRADE EARPLUGS and it was still too much for him. It should not have to be this bad. That's genuinely dangerous for someone's hearing. If you have autism or any hightened noise sensitivity, maybe skip this one.The bass was also turned up so high, the vibration made it hard to breathe. But on top of that apparently you CANNOT BRING METAL WATER BOTTLES. Only plastic. Nothing about that was said on the website. It says "No outside food or drink", which is standard, but most venues allow a waterbottle as long as you dump out the contents. I had to hide mine in a bush and get it after the concert because the guys wouldn't let me in.The only thing I really liked about the Union is that they have nice and clean restrooms. That warrants one star I suppose

love this event center but sooo disappointed in the ADA section. there were TONS of people standing in front of the ADA section which completely negates the point of it. I hope that in the future The Union Event Center will keep people from standing in front of the ADA Section so that those of us with disabilities are able to actively participate in the concert like everyone else. we can’t simply move to another area of the crowd like anyone else. we rely on the ADA section because we are disabled & for it to be completely visibly blocked is ableist. I hope this improves.

I’ve been to this event center for a fashion show, as well as a recent concert. It’s a great venue with standing and seating options, close parking, a bar and sometimes an option with a food truck outside. The venue is very spacious.

I hate this venue. I also hate that all the good bands go there now. The sound is horrible, terrible acoustics. Especially if you're upstairs on the side of the stage. You can't hear vocals at all. The place is super hot, without ventilation, fans, or AC. It reeks horribly of mold. (Which I'm allergic to.) You can only see & hear upstairs if you're right against the railing. It's lame that the upstairs center view is only for VIP. It's annoying that you can't take a drink downstairs, even though they sell drinks downstairs. Parking is a nightmare. They don't even have a parking lot. It's always hard to get to this venue bc it's by the train tracks & there's always road construction near by. It's impossible to see the artist from the ground floor if you're shorter than 6'5". They don't have a large screen to view. The only thing I'll give credit for is that they seem to have a lot of bathroom stalls. I wish we could get a better venue for all the good shows in slc. I'm never going here again.
