I have had nothing but problems with this credit union/bank since day 1. Yesterday's after-hours customer service (which is non-existent and good luck to you if you ever have a problem outs of 9-5 M-F) was the final straw for me and I will be closing all accounts with U-First ASAP. I lost my CC, and needed to cancel the card on a Saturday afternoon. After 2 hours and 4 different agents and departments over the phone, nobody could simply cancel my card and the issue was left unresolved. My card is out there with $16,000 of available credit and I'm not able to cancel it. They couldn't cancel it because, although I had my account number and any pertinent information, I didn't have the card number (YEAH, BECAUSE THE CARD IS *LOST*) so 4 different agents dismissed me without a resolution, nor did they care one bit. Worst customer service ever. And this was the last and final straw. I will be transferring my balance to a more reputable institution in the next few days. I do not recommend this credit union. Spare yourself the stress & headaches of this bank and go elsewhere.

Called about opening a heloc, stating I was looking for a credit limit of 10 or 15 thousand dollars. After talking to a loan officer on the phone and giving her some info, she said I could go as high as 150 thousand dollars. I said I was only looking for 15 thousand. Thought about it for a few days and decided on 100 thousand since there are no fees for a heloc unless you close it within 2 years. I send in my tax returns and get an email 15 minutes later telling me I was denied the loan! All I wanted was a line of credit I could use for emergencies if needed. I have no debt and a 817 credit score that is going to take a hit because I was told I was "pre approved" for a much higher number than I wanted. Then I get a "Adverse Action Notice" in the mail from them letting me know I was denied credit and they are reporting it to Experian. Not happy at all with U Credit Union.

They recently redid their website and it is a NIGHTMARE. For 2 months now so have not been able to make a loan payment online. Getting help is also a nightmare. But don’t worry they are “working on it”. Save yourself the hassle and bank elsewhere

I’ve been a member of this institution (U of U Credit Union) for 35 years. This institution has never charged me a fee for paying my vehicle loan as well as my credit line that I have with them while using my Visa debit card from another banking institution to make my payments. As of recently, UFirst Credit Union is now charging their customers $10 per account to make their monthly payments over the phone using their debit card. I have two accounts and am now being charged $240 per year for paying my loans with them? UFirst told me this is standard practice now. UFirst is already making money off of me from the interest payments each month and now they’re implementing additional practices to get more money from their customers by arbitrarily charging excessively high service charges for making a payment toward their existing loan? It doesn’t sound like you have MeFirst in your best interests at all. This just isn’t right.

I've been a member for over 40 years, but I would be reluctant to recommend this credit union to others. It seems like every time I go into the Brickyard Branch there are new faces at the teller windows. I get the uneasy feeling that new, on-the-job trainees are handling my money. It would be reassuring to see a trusted, familiar face once in awhile instead of a bunch of inexperienced newbies! It doesn't inspire much confidence having my funds handled by amateurs.

I've been with this Credit Union since 1988. But felt to leave a poor review because of a fee-maximizing practice they use that I think is dastardly. In simplest form, here it is.. Say you intend on making a deposit in the morning but currently have $500 in your account along with (2) outstanding checks for $50, (4) checks for $100 and another for $400. (I know bad on you.) Should UFirst have to process all of these that night, THEY RUN THE LARGEST FIRST. So they would cover the $400 and one of the $100 checks, leaving you with (5) $25 bounced check fees or $125 in fees. If instead, they had you at heart, they would run the smallest first and you would end up with only one bounced check fee of $25. Dastardly right?!

I’ve used the u for a long time and I’m past it that no one ever seems be on the same page. Their ATM ate my deposit, I filed with the bank was told that within 10 days it would be solved and I would receive a call. Never received a call, so I called and was told I would have my money by the 10th. No Money!! Now I’m being told that it’s really is 10 days to start the process and then I can have my money. And that is if someone starts the process on day 10. So 2 1/5 weeks to get my money because they KNOWINGLY are leaving a malfunctioning ATM open for ppl to use.

Absolutely awful. The people were nice but they said they would contact me after 2-3 hours. 3 DAYS later I called in to get an update on my loan- the guy said I wasn’t even showing up in the system and had no application....... they don’t take into consideration anything outside your credit score and current income. If you are looking for reasonable people with good customer service- look elsewhere
