I'm stating to have mixed feelings about this vets office. I think everyone is really nice and they are helpful. But they started charging extra for the tec appointments. My dog needs a shot every 8 weeks. Half the time they just give in the shot out by the front desk. It's not worth the extra 15$. As soon as his Rx expires I'll be taking him somewhere else.

I have a fractious arthritic cat (a loveable challenge even on gaba, if you will), and in the past some staff at other vet clinics have become frustrated with her and treated her less gently. It can be hard to find a cat-friendly vet.
ALL the vets and techs at University Vet treat my cat INCREDIBLY kindly, which is the basis for effective care. She comes in at a minimum once a month for a Solensia shot (would recommend), and each vet tech that handles her has been very understanding of her fear and the challenge she offers. She has seen several vets here and I've been very impressed with their handling of her.
They do not have seperate a waiting area/entrance for cats, but do have a large lobby and call pets back quickly so I haven't found that to be a huge problem.
I've found this vet office to be flexible and accomodating for urgent and routine care. They do xrays during dental cleanings, which is particularly important for older cats. They're knowledgeable about cats and the care/treatments they've offered have visibly improved my cat's QOL. I've recommended this vet to friends with cats and heard back positive things.

Dr. Staveley, Juan, Miranda, and everyone behind the scenes saved my four month old kitten’s life when she needed emergency surgery. They stayed late to do the surgery on her and kept me updated as I was incredibly worried. Thankfully she’s back to being my energetic, bold, brave little girl. I am eternally grateful for University Veterinary Hospital and their team’s tireless efforts.

We've been going here for several years now. We have not changed our opinion. Everything here is excellent and we have no reason not to continue coming. It is absolutely worth the drive from Orem.
-------------
We were going to VCA Cottonwood for years. We had a particular vet we work with for our puppo. He moved here. Obviously, the quality of care from the vet is the same. There is good parking, especially given the are it's in. It's got a really nice waiting area, and the front desk is first class. The facility is a step up. We were a bit worried about the change, now we have no worries.

We received the BEST care here! The staff is SO friendly and treats our dog with love and care, including the doctor, who had to fix a procedure performed by another vet. We just love it here, and feel so good knowing that our "baby" is receiving the best care. I'm so grateful to everyone at this veterinary hospital for being so amazing and for giving us such piece of mind.

Ive been going to this clinic for the past 10 years. Dr. Bybee was awesome but he left. Always listened, great care and gave me options to decide. This last time my experience was awful. I went in for a no issue annual check up and the doctor who examined my pup said she hears a heart murmur with her 2sec stethoscope exam. I told her she is healthy but is nervous. The doctor then explains the seriousness of the heart murmur and recommends tests we do to so we can treat it. At this point I was scared so I agreed. My bill was 500$!!! and guess what no heart murmur!! It was worth it if you trust the doctor but I no longer do.
Update: I changed my doctor here and Dr. Thatcher is just as awesome as Dr. Bybee. Very balanced and caring approach and he heard me and my concerns and provided options and a more conservative approach.

I've taken my cat here for several years now and in general have had good experiences in the past.
I brought my cat in recently for a wellness exam, and I brought in the requested stool sample that they always request you bring in and test as a part of the annual wellness exam. Their email states clearly that "Our doctors feel annual stool testing is an essential part of our annual exam".
No one asked me for the stool sample, so I brought it up to Dr. Brown who told me that my cat wouldn't need a stool sample testing, but that she could throw it away for me.
Dr. Brown then called me the next day with the blood work results and asked that I please bring in a stool sample for testing. I thought that was unusual, and I didn't want to get frustrated and point out the fact that I already had and that she had thrown it in the garbage bin less than 24 hours before, so I thought I would just bring another one in.
When I did so, the front desk informed me that although testing a stool sample is a part of certain laboratory services, they were going to charge me an additional $75, on top of the $240 lab fees I has already paid, on top of the $90 wellness exam.
I asked why the fee would not be waived since it should have already been a part of the services I already paid for and I was told that "The lab still charges us".
Long story short, I think the staff is generally very nice and the facilities are very clean, but they have lost my business.

The staff and doctors are uniformly nice and caring about your pet. They have the facilities and equipment to do comprehensive care for your furry friend.
Their prices are much too high, however I believe that is the result of being owned by VCA- a veterinary practice investment company responsible to predatory venture capitalists who focus only on the bottom line, not the animals their employees treat. Until firms like this no longer dominate vet care, the prices for same exceed those of human medicine and benefit only VCA.
