I’d like to leave a review and comment on the work that Brown does, but I can’t. They didn’t do anything. I paid them $400 for an initial consultation. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I cancelled the appointment about 20 hours before the meeting was scheduled. They sent a confirmation email accepting the cancellation. At a later date, I contacted them and asked to reschedule the initial appointment and asked for the $400 already paid to be applied. They informed me that “office policy” precludes them from applying the funds towards a new appointment. They said “we’d be happy to reschedule an appointment” but you will need to give us another $400. Remember when earning money meant actually doing something to earn it? Office policy isn’t “law”. It’s literally meaningless. And that is how Brown will treat you - meaningless.

David Hunt is the absolute worst!!
After complaining to the other attorneys I was told I could go somewhere else. Why was I complaining you ask? Well for starters he wouldn't do anything I asked in a timely manor. I went 16 days no contact with my children when I should've seen them within 2 days after paying them $6k.
I asked him repeatedly to get information needed from other counsel. I never received it. I asked, I begged him to file paper work to the courts for over 2 weeks. When he finally got back to me, he said he can't because the opposing party filed something we needed to respond to first. He waited til 2 minutes to 5:00 before sending me the opposing counsels filed paperwork, knowing I wouldn't be able to reach him til the next day. The opposing counsel filed that paper work a day or two before. So yes, he should've already done what I asked and we wouldn't have had to wait. Shortly after that I received the bill to fill my retainer. I paid that 2-4 hours after receiving the bill, I then reached out to him again only to hear that he cannot help me until the retainer was paid. (I already paid it)
I fired him right after that. When I hired new counsel, I got the email transcript between David Hunt and opposing counsel. This email exchange shows him misrepresenting my words. Making me look as if I'm intentionally not following the orders given to me.
I asked for an appointment to speak with his supervisor, however they blew me off.
I know another attorney here that is bad ass. Nathaniel, he is who I did my consult with and I was sold that I was in the right place.... Man was I wrong. I would never hire David Hunt.

Please save yourself from wasting money with this law firm!! I used them for my divorce and Ben Brown quit on me a year in. I paid them thousands of dollars and they did next to nothing except file paperwork. I had to do all the heavy lifting and their passive tactics lead to zero progress. Then without even a phone call I received an email from my ex wife’s lawyer saying Ben Brown had quit. AGAIN NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL.
This all occurred a couple of weeks before my second round of mediation.
If you wish to be strung along, do all the work yourself, and then be quit on after spending thousands. Use this firm.
Brown Family Law quits when the going gets tough.
