The other day I went into the quarry bend branch Deseret First Credit Union sandy utah to open a Christmas account and was told because I was not Mormon nor lived with a Mormon person I could not open an account. I was mortified shocked disgusted and so much more. I did not know you could be discriminated against because You choose to be of a different religion. God doesn't discriminate so why should we or they. Shaking my head with shame. If they get kickbacks from the government I don't know but is that legal that they could denied someone from opening an account if the government gives the institution money. Can they denied the public that way? Needless to say we will never open an account at Deseret First credit Union in quarry bend Sandy Utah.

Malaysia was great to work with. She was very personable and friendly. She made us feel valued and that she is looking out for our best interest at heart. Malaysia made our banking experience like none other that we've experienced to date. We're excited to continue banking with DFCU, because of Malaysia that her team.

Malaysia Fogle is a jewel to work with at DFCU. She is very helpful and goes beyond what you would expect from a teller at a credit union. She is very thorough and suggest things that will help and benefit you. I have hired many people over the years and I would love to have Malaysia work for my organization. She is a keeper and DFCU would do well to keep her on their payroll.

I had been trying to get answers about my account for over a week by calling. On Friday I was transferred 7 times by phone. Totally frustrated, and getting close to withdrawing my 4 savings and checking accounts, I went to the closest branch for help. I was happily greeted Malaysia Fogle. I said she probably could not help me but she smiled and said let me try. I told her my problem and the run around I had been given all week.. She said let me help. She solved my problem in less than a minute. I was shocked but extremely grateful for her help. She was kind and respectful. The many phone people should have been able to take care of my problem but they were more concern with passing me off to others. Keep Malaysia around. She represents Desert First well.

I worked with Malaysia Fogle and was very impressed with her and the way she handled the switch to the VISA Signature card. Not only did she explain everything in detail but also set me up to use it through the wallet app on my phone! It was a pleasure doing business with her today.

I love DFCU and it’s Senior Management team. It is a wonderful financial institution for basic banking needs (e.g. DDA, Savings Accounts, Car Loans, Credit Cards, Mortgages, Home Equity Lines, etc.).Even though I have high regards for DFCU, it is not my primary bank.Since I’ve had a minor relationship with DFCU since 1991, they issued me a Visa Credit Card with an ever-increasing credit limit. Neither the credit card nor the credit limit were ever used.Unbeknownst to me, my DFCU Visa card was cancelled as of 3/31/23. Simultaneously, DFCU sent a notification to the Credit Reporting Agencies that I had “reached a settlement.”Credit Reporting Agencies assume that the fact that I had “reached a settlement” with DFCU indicates that I was delinquent on a loan or credit card payment. Consequently, the my credit score could be negatively impacted for up to 7 years. The correct message to the reporting agencies should have indicated that my credit card had simply been cancelled due to “non-use,” not to “settlement.”I spoke to a very courteous and professional Customer Service Representative of DFCU (Michelle) this afternoon. She initiated a request to DFCU management to correct the reporting error with the Credit Reporting Agencies. She mentioned that the correction should be reflected on my credit rating by the end of April. After hearing from another member of the DFCU management team (Steve Anderson), I am confident that DFCU is taking the promised corrective action. My recommendation to senior management to avoid future credit reporting faux pas is as follows:1) Advise clients with inactive credit cards “in advance” of DFCU’s intent to close dormant credit cards. This reportedly was done via ‘snail mail” in January, but in this day of “junk mail,” digital notification methods (email & text messaging) should also be used.2) Allow clients to determine if they want to start using their cards or close the card accounts.3) If clients decide to close their unused card accounts, determine the best way to proceed to minimize damage to credit scores. These inactive relationships may actually maintain healthy deposit balances with DFCU (i.e. “free funding”) to show their support of the institution, even though they are not an active clients. The bottomline is that “communication, cooperation and coordination” are the key to success in these situations.??
