For the most part this is the best local Home Depot to sandy and always have what is needed in stock and their day time staff knows where things are. George at the pro desk is hands down probably the best Home Depot employee I have ever met. Trust me I’ve been in a lot of their stores. I myself am a general contractor.

I love Home Depot and have been to locations all over the State. The location in Sandy, Utah is amazing. I once had a worker randomly stop to give my fussy children a sucker and it changed my whole day. This same location’s customer service team helped me with a stressful return of a grill and they went above and beyond with their help and professional attitude (Thank you Paula). Whatever they are doing at this store, it’s working. Thank you!

The cashier on the north end is great. However, most of the time workers don't know where things are and if you go to the pro desk they are too busy sitting on their butts chatting with coworkers to show you where the item is located. Not sure what they are getting paid for. So I just decided to go somewhere else. I'll probably avoid Home Depot from now on.

The customer service at this Home Depot is the worst I’ve ever experienced. We have been remodeling a home for the last three weeks. We are often in this store multiple times a day. We have requested help on a number of occasions and finally left after waiting for much too long without anyone coming to help. On one occasion, Linda at the front end did answer some questions for us and was the most pleasant of anyone we’ve met here. This is not the Home Depot we know and loved. Because of these experiences, their competitor scored the $1,000 in lumber and will get all of our business from here out.

I like why whenever you need help entering something or information about what you are going to work on, there is someone to help you with a good attitude

Rented a Penske moving truck. I was supposed to get it at 11. Had to drive 1 hr from Salem UT to pick the truck up here. First one was broke, nothing was ready until 515 pm and I still got charged for the 6 hours I was driving and waiting for them to get me a truck. Then there wasn't a dolly in it so I had to drive back, they then charged me extra for the dolly I had already paid for. Then when I asked about the 24 hour return they didn't know and just said to park it and leave the keys, which I did. Then when I called the next day to make sure they got it they got after me for parking it with the keys in it and not putting them in a drop box that their own employee didn't know about. Extremely slow service. I gave two stars because the employee was polite and it isn't entirely Home Depots fault. I would recommend they drop their contract with Penske.

You can't get through life without going to Home Depot a bunch of times. There's always pros and cons. Large selection and good prices are on the positive side of the ledger. On the negative side, the parking can be a pain, the store is huge, and the in-store help is rarely great. I buy quite a bit of bark and mulch here these days. Cheaper than a nursery.

Only leaving this review in hopes that the rental decision-makers rethink their current system. I have rented repeatedly from Home Depot with no issue. Today they let me know they had updated to the new Clear system. I’ve use the system with success and airports, and I have no problem with it. Attempting to get it to accept my selfie and my drivers license turned out to be impossible after 50 minutes of trying and I left the facility with no rental. I’m not technologically challenged, but the clear system insisted that my phone number is attached to an old profile, and even when I logged into that very same profile, would not accept my selfie. I used this profile less than one year ago and have not gained or lost weight or changed facial hair, etc. After the maximum number of selfie attempts said they weren’t recognized in three different lighting scenarios and after 50 minutes, I quit. The couple next to me had similar frustrations in that it required a cell phone update to the newest iOS before it would even let you attempt to create a profile. Both of us walked around Home Depot for 20 minutes before we could even come back and attempt to start the process that didn’t even work.
The employees were great, and this is in no way a reflection on them, but whoever decided that this clear authentication was a good idea should rethink that. I even offered to leave my valid drivers license, show my active car insurance, and have the rental back within two hours, but there’s no workaround. The inefficiency and impossibility of navigating the system literally cost them a customer today. I have no intention of returning to Home Depot to just experience the same frustrations.

We purchase new exterior doors last September, and have just now -June- had our 3rd installation of the back door. The door itself is very pretty, but the left and right side do not line up flat when closed. The quality of the work on the install is terrible. 3 different installers and they left us with huge holes and gaps drilled into the door because they didn't line up the door latch and deadbolt properly. It looks awful. I've tried reaching back out to the customer order specialist at the store and gotten no response. I'm shocked at how bad the professional installation has been and disappointed at spending a high amount of money to have it look like a terrible DIY. Would not recommend purchasing custom doors from home depot.

Lowe's is geared towards the home owner and Home Depot is geared towards the contractor. Keep this in mind when planning your shopping.
