It has taken me YEARS to get my hair as healthy as it was… I paid $180 for a cut and color with highlights. After I was done, before I paid, I told the stylist that the highlights start way higher on one side and will look silly when I wear ponytail. She grabbed some mixed color from another stylist that was coloring hair and stuck it on the side that was way darker… told me to wipe it out after a few min. So I did and it got DARKER. Then when I got home, I realized she had completely fried my hair. It’s now frizzy and staticky and has lots of spots with bad breakage. I was almost in tears. I called the salon a couple days later and asked for the manager. I was told she was busy so I left my name and number and asked her to call me back asap. It has now been 5 days and I still haven’t received a phone call.

Do not go here! I brought my daughter here to color her hair a medium brown. It ended up so dark it looked black in most lighting and she looked super washed out. She cried. It's taken multiple sessions at a high end salon with multiple treatments of color remover to lighten her hair and not totally damage it. Over $600 later, I wish I could go back in time and go anywhere else.

Had a not-so-great experience with Rita B. @ Southtowne JCPenney Salon. She is a "master stylist" level. I felt her attitude was off-putting. I get I was the first appointment of the day, but some of her comments were borderline rude. When I told my friends and husband what she said they were taken aback.I only had her do a blunt cut/trim and take off about 4 inches. Besides the shampoo and deep conditioner, she didn't use any other products on my hair. No heat protectant, no finishing oil, nothing. I have a pretty tough head, but felt she was really rough with the round brush during blow-dry. Likely will not return.Service: Haircut

I would recommend Rita as a hairstylist to anyone. She is the best out there. She takes time with her customers and cares. So if anyone needs their hair done go to her.

Absolutely do not go here. I walked in for a simple blow out & When I sat down they told me it would be $35. No problem, I would expect to pay that. Then the stylist told me it would be $15 more since I have long hair...a bit ridiculous but ok. After she washed my hair she then told me if I wanted heat it would be an extra $25. This salon clearly doesn't understand what a blow out entails which would be - wash, blow dry and style. 75 dollars for a blow out is absolutely unheard of. The whole experience was sketchy and uncomfortable and after speaking with the manager he told me that's the company policy and that stylists can charge what they want. I left not only with wet hair but in complete tears. I have never had such a terrible experience at a salon and felt taken advantage of. I would recommend going anywhere else in the world but here- where pricing is transparent and customer service is upheld. Would rate Zero stars if I could

I only go to this salon for Zina. Zina has been doing my hair since I was 13 years old (16 years!!) Zina is the only person I have ever trusted with my hair--when I lived back East, Zina would always fix any odd cuts or colors when I came home for winter break :) I consider Zina family as she is sweet, genuine and cares about her loyal clients. I promise you; take Zina a picture of ANY cut it color you want and she'll make it a reality. If you aren't satisfied (this has never happened to me!) she will fix it. She is honest and will tell you if something will damage your hair or not look good. She loves a challenge and truly enjoys her work. Thank you JCPenney for letting us have Zina for so many years!!!!

I always have my hair cut at the Jc Penney salon and enjoy it, my cuts are usually pretty simple & no color. This time I saw Carmen W and asked her to do something a little different with some face framing and a shorter length. I have never loved my haircut so much! She did an amazing job & I highly recommend asking for her to do your next appointment.

I went for a hair colored ash beige balayage today. I was really impressed by Akiko. She is very sweet and polite and her technique was great! I previously had balayage done last year and she helped get my hair lighter and achieve the color ai actually want. Five star for Akiko!
