I’ve rented from National dozens of times over the years and have always trusted them to honor confirmed reservations—until this experience.
Just over a week ago, I had a confirmed one-way reservation to Las Vegas to catch a flight. When I arrived at this location, the lot was visibly full of cars and there were no customers in line. Despite that, the agent on duty, Jessica, immediately told me they would not honor my reservation because they “didn’t have enough cars.”
I was stunned. In all my years and hundreds of rentals with National, I have never once been refused a confirmed reservation. I explained that missing this rental would cause me to miss my LAS flight and that I hold Executive Elite status. None of it mattered.
There was no apology, no concern, no attempt to help, and no explanation as to why I wasn’t notified ahead of time—despite them having hours to call or email me before I arrived. I was simply told “too bad” and sent away.
This completely disrupted my travel plans and left me stranded through no fault of my own.
After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is standard practice at this location: accept reservations they can’t fulfill and leave customers scrambling. I will absolutely think twice before renting from this location again, and I strongly caution others who are on a tight travel schedule.

I've rented from this location more than 50 times in the past. Some interactions were good, some were bad, but my last one was terrible. I made a confirmed reservation for a one-way car to Las Vegas to catch a flight just over a week ago, and when I showed up the lot appeared to be full of cars and there was not a single customer in line to speak with a National agent. I walked up and the agent, Jessica, told me immediately that they didn't have enough cars and would not be honoring my reservation. I was shocked. In the hundreds of times I’ve rented from National, I’ve never had them refuse to honor my reservation. I explained to Jessica that if she didn’t honor my reservation I would miss my LAS flight. I explained that I had Executive Elite status. I pleaded with her to give me one of the numerous cars on the lot. Jessica didn’t care. She didn’t apologize. She didn’t show any concern at all. Just stoic and told me too bad and that I was out of luck. Why didn’t she give me a heads up before heading to the location? She had hours to call me and let me know in advance. I don’t know. I do know it ruined my trip and I will think twice before renting from them again.
Edit: After reading other reviews, it sounds like my experience is standard practice for this location. They accept reservations then leave their customers stranded.

I would definitly rate my experience as 5-Star service. The process was quick, convienient and everything went well. The vehicle was great, everything worked out very well. For any rental needs I would definitly use National again.

Had the most horrible experience! Our car wouldn’t start so we went online and rented a car from this location at STG airport. We drove 40 minutes for them to tell us that they ran out of cars and there “is a big convention” in town. 1. We shouldn’t have been able to rent a car then and 2. If that’s the case how can a national chain not get access to more. They literally told us there were sold out for the rest of the month. Must be a long conference. 🤦🏻♀️🙄

One of the few rental companies that accommodate one way rentals. Every time I've rented from them my experience has went flawlessly. The cars are always clean, comfortable, newer and perform great.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We booked a car one way from St. George to SLC. I booked it through Expedia. When we arrived Matt(who is one of the rudest, most unprofessional people I have ever come across) told us that reservation is cancelled. I explained I had not been notified of any cancellation and if there was no car we were stranded. He told us it was cancelled. I asked to speak to a supervisor who could maybe figure out a way to help us and Matt said “No”. He then said, “I’m not going to help you so please leave” and called security. We left and called Expedia from the car and Expedia said the reservation wasn’t cancelled on their end either. I have never experience anyone so rude in my entire 53 years. Matt needs some serious retraining in customer service and some additional training in what it means to be a nice human. This business is horribly run.

They cancelled my rental before I showed up without letting me know. I ended up stranded in St. George for 12+ hours as a result. They refused to make it right or even offer a simple “sorry” for what was obviously a computer glitch on their end. I asked to speak to a supervisor in hopes I could get someone to understand my predicament and to honor the reservation I had proof of. The worker refused to call his manager and refused to tell me his name or his managers name. It was truly terrible customer service. I left with no vehicle and no apology. I’d leave 0 stars if that was an option.

After a rough day of travel on Sunday, I went into the SGU enterprise location to trade out the car I had for a new rental. SLC messed up my reservations, the systems went down the night before so customer service couldn’t help me. So I was expecting another terrible experience. Thankfully Abi was working the counter. She came in looking a little stressed, I can only imagine what she was going through with systems down. But instead of being terrible, she was so helpful. She listened to me and helped me get into my new vehicle without a hitch. I walked away so grateful for Abi. She had no idea how stressful the weekend had been for me. And although I know she had an eventful weekend with the systems down, she carried herself with the utmost professionalism. I’ll forever be grateful that she is who was available to help me that day.🥰

National is the best rental car company I have ever used. The process is easy and the customer service is 5 star. We will continue to use National for our rental cars.
