Dr. Gary Gowans is awesome, but his daughter Dr. Kaitlyn G. Shosted obviously does not care for cats or dogs. She is terrified of large dogs. The staff no longer cares about animals or their owners. An Elderly woman was forced to wait over an hour after her appointment time, in the waiting room, while her dog had 3 seizures in her arms. She had an appointment to humanely euthanize her beloved companion. The staff couldn't be bothered to give her a towel or tissues, let alone treat the suffering dog humanely! I have a very large dog who needed minor surgery. Dr. Kaitlyn G. Shosted jumps every time my dog shifts his weight or grumbles, because he's in pain. I believe she overdosed my dog with a sedative prior to taking him back for surgery. The reason I believe this is, because he kept stopping breathing! When I told the staff they said dogs always stop breathing when sedated!?! Last time I checked no breathing equals DEAD! I will never go back to Countryside Animal Clinic in Tooele, Utah! I would give the staff zero stars if I could.

I've left this vet before due to the fact that it takes so long for them to take you back and then another long wait for anyone to see you. I understand it's a small town and they are the only get in town worth seeing but it's very annoying that every time I come in it ends up being a three hour endeavor. I'm afraid that again this will be the last time I spend my time here as I don't think it should be such a long wait every time I come in. This time I made an appointment for opening. I took the day off work because I knew there was no other way to make it as it takes so long every time. I've been in the lobby for 25 minutes and still waiting to even get back. Great vet but no one is worth this kind of wait.

I love the staff and the medical care our animals receive, however, a 90-minute wait to see the doctor is way too long. Please work on your scheduling to avoid this issue in the future.

We've taken our pets here for many years and have great confidence in Dr. Gowns. It's good to have someone you can trust to take care of your furry family members.

Countryside has taken wonderful care of my 3 rescue kitties for the 5 1/2 years I've lived in Utah. The staff is warm & friendly & everyone is kind & patient with cats in a culture where dogs are perhaps more popular. Dr. Gowans looks at mine with real affection & they are calm & happy through the exam. Love Countryside.

Countryside Animal Clinic has been my families go to animal clinic since we moved to Tooele County about 4 years ago. They have amazing staff who are very caring and know what they are doing. Countryside has almost always been able to pencil us into their extremely busy schedule. They have been nothing but amazing to us. The only sad part is, they provide such good care that everyone and their dogs goes there.

Huge shout out to Dr Gowans and his staff today! My moms cat had been attacked by 2 stray dogs. My mom and dad both received wounds from the dogs and the cat. When they walked into the clinic they were muddy, bloody and completely shook up. The clinic treated them like gold. They not only took care of the cat, but got my parents basic medical attention. And, they called to check up on them.

I had a goat go into labor at 7pm and started experiencing complications and couldn’t birth the kid. It became an life/death emergency because she needed a c-section & most vets won’t even look at a goat in a situation like this. It was looking very grim until Countryside returned our call and told us to come in. They performed the csection and saved my Maggie goat’s life!!! I am forever grateful for their services and not turning us away when many vets would.

Dr.Gowans is the best! He's very friendly and knowledgeable. You never feel rushed and he always answers your questions with a pleasant disposition. I've never seen him in a bad mood. EVER! The office staff is very nice and friendly. The techs are GREAT! I tried to tip my tech after a nail trim but he politely refused? Dr. Gowans is very popular so don't expect to see him right away. He's very busy because he knows what he's doing. He's worth the wait.My poor senior dog had a tumor removed and the next day it looked swollen. I took him in early morning and was seen. He was so nice he didn't charge me for the visit. I also got a sample of different pain meds to add to his regimen for healing. I've been to a few other vets around town and the staff just didn't seem to be happy to be there. This is why I'm sure they are busy all the time. That's a good sign. Like the saying goes," Who wants to eat at an empty restaurant?" I'm not going anywhere else!
