After a long day of riding our motorcycles, we were tired and looking for a place to stay. Let me say we stumbled on this gem and were delighted with everything about it. The grounds and buildings were very well maintained. Our room was large and very comfortable. We thought the beds were super comfortable too. The staff was friendly and very nice. There was coffee available for free at the general store right next door. We loved this place and highly recommend a stay here if you are in the area. The value for the cost was very good.

This is one of my favorite places I've stayed during a vacation. Chuck Wagon Lodge has so much character. It's in the tiny community of Torrey, which is the ideal place to stay when visiting Capitol Reef National Park. The Chuck Wagon Lodge grounds have a motel-style lodge, cabins and a general store with additional rooms attached. The staff was friendly and helpful with my questions when we checked in. We booked the ground-floor room on the back of the general store. It's a snug, comfortable room; the bathroom is a bit smaller, but we loved being tucked behind the store. It was convenient to step out our front door and stroll around the corner to enter the store whenever we needed to buy a meal, snack or item we forgot to pack. The Capitol Burgers food truck frequently parks in the store parking lot for dinner, which is a can't-miss meal option. A fabulously eclectic store sits across the street, which is a fun place to buy local souvenirs and view the garden statues out front.

Excellent place to stay while visiting capital reef. Extremely clean rooms with everything you need. Sheets are clean and crisp. The only change I would make is to upgrade their TV . They also own a small general store and a deli and bakery that is right next door to the motel. The bakery makes homemade bread has amazing egg frittatas, burritos, all kinds of homemade breakfast every morning starting at 7:00. At 7:00. They also provide boxed lunches to take on your hike but you can custom order. Hot tub and swimming pool are extremely clean and right beside the motel. We like this place a lot better than some of the larger places. It seems updated and fresh and home like at the same time.

I came by for lunch and shower only, so I don’t know anything about their other services. Very clean, hot shower, and the Reuben sandwich was tasty. Will come again to do my laundry.Nearby activities: Lots of great hiking in the area

Great location. Friendly staff. It's great having the market right next to you to get what you need before you head out for the day.

Super friendly and helpful staff at check-in - thank you Bill! Pointed out good restaurants, had a super friendly manner.
The cabin had two nice bed rooms, a living space and a well equipped kitchen.
The on-site deli and store was great, the staff also very helpful and friendly. We pre-ordered lunch boxes for the following day which were ready for pick up when the deli opened at 7am.
The pool was unfortunately closed for maintenance but we had been informed of this well before arrival.

I want to write this up before a I get tired, worn-out and forget. This place, which I have not been to yet and am staying there tomorrow night, has already won me over! Let me explain:I booked the room through their website and there were a couple disclaimers about the particular room. Not a big deal. It has a 3/4 bath instead of a full bath. The room is a bit smaller than most rooms. All good. I booked online and credit card and etc etc and all fine. Then I got two confirmation emails. The second confirmation email clearly stated in red that the room had has no a/c. Well, that's not good.I called them and explained that I did not see the no a/c on the website and the guy moved me to another room at the same price. Great. Here is the kicker: He a) recognized the website is probably wrong and b) actually thanked me for calling! We just don't get those chipper attitudes in our greedy American society much these days.I hope the stay goes as well as the hospitality I have already received!Nearby activities: Capitol Reef National Park

Great hotel with a lot of different room options. Great location. Nice pool and hot tub. Although, the hot tub could have been warmer. There is a nice store that has anything you may need. A yummy cafe that serves delicious breakfast!

My husband and I stayed at Austin's for two nights in mid-March, 2023, just after they opened for the season. This was my second stay at Austin's, and it was just as nice as the first (in 2017). We were in an upstairs room and it was clean, spacious and quiet, with good beds. And the heat worked well - it was cold when we visited. The room was a welcome place to return to after exploring Capitol Reef. Everyone on staff was friendly. Next time, we'll stay longer!

Our family of five recently stayed in the family suite above the general store. This three bedroom suite was perfect for us. Though it’s a bit older/dated, everything was in good condition and very clean. There was a full
Kitchen and living room for us to spread out in. The pool and hot tub were great and the staff were fantastic! Great experience!

Hello,
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, in one of the 2 bedroom cabins; what a wonderful place!! The cabin was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was really helpful to have.
The general store offers free coffee until 10pm and opens at 7am. It's a fully stocked store with everything!
It was quiet at night and restaurants in the area stayed open until 9:30
I would highly recommend staying here, a great little gem!
Thanks,
Liz

Had a great stay at the Chuck Wagon Lodge. Location is great for visiting Capitol Reef National Park, about 10 minutes away. Room is clean and spacious (we got a king bed room). Having free coffee/tea at the lodge is a plus!
