Cute cottage just up the road from the Capital Reef Visitor Center. They have an assortment of jellies and sauces to buy as well as bakery goods. Maybe get there early as everything was sold out when we arrived in the afternoon.

WE LOVE THE PIES. they saved our breakfast for three days in Hanksville as there was no sweet breakfast. We drove an hour just to have it. Getting more and mor expensive but we are addicted to their pies. Also tried the cinnamon rolls- very good.

The middle age woman with brown hair that drives a white chevy van, works at this place. She is very rude, impatient, inconsiderate. I happened to be there with a tour bus full of 44 people from France. I have never been at this location. I was told by my tour guide, who has been here many times, to stop just in front of the house on the road to disembark the passengers. He has done this many times. Well, this woman comes running out of the house, she had a uniform on, and was yelling at me to MOVE THE BUS NOW!! I attempted to let her know that I didn't know she didn't like this and I just had about 7 more people coming off. She yelled again and said she was going to call the rangers and have them give me a ticket. I parked the bus and there was no traffic behind me waiting, and a ranger showed up. He proceeded to ask for my license and told me he was investigating the violation. He did not investigate but proceeded to write me a ticket just because of this lady that was yelling at me. My tour guide attempted to talk with her and she started to yell at him and told him to leave the property along with these tourists, and said she didn't like tourists. I also heard done people nearby state that she was very rude and that the pies were not that good either. She needs to be fired. This is not a job for her. By hhe way, there are no signs advising no loading or unloading of passengers and no, no parking signs

stopped in here two days in a row because the experience was so delightful!strawberry rhubarb, peach, cherry, mixed berry, and apple pies—all $8.50 a pie (but the perfect size to split between two people)—made fresh daily! but get there early, they sell out quick!highly recommend the apple pie, it felt like we were enjoying our grandma’s homemade pie. there’s seating outside to enjoy your treat. they also had lots of wonderful things for sale, including some great stickers that the visitor center didn’t have!

This should have been an easy 5 star. The location is beautiful. However there is no safe walking access between the buildings. You can walk along the busy fast moving road or you can strap all the kids into their carseats for 30 second drives between buildings. Obnoxious.

The old Gifford House is now a museum/gift shop and is located on the Scenic Drive just before the Fruita Campground. The staff were very nice and friendly and they sell a wide variety items including freshly baked fruit pies, ice cream, pickled and canned veg, jams, sweets and souvenirs! The real star of the shop un my opinion is their freshly made pies! We got a couple of different pie flavours and if I were to pick a favourite I would chose the peach pie as first and the strawberry-rhubarb pie as my second! You got to get their early though as the pies sell out fast! The store divided into 2 main rooms that serve as the shop and then there is a smaller thrid room to the back that is full of old pictures and items of bygone days!Outside there is a nice grassy sitting area to the front of the old house. Its ideal to sit here and enjoy those delicious pies as the trees provide plenty of shad!

Closed for lunch for an hour. Pies and cinnamon rolls sell out fast. Selection of pies are cherry, apple, mixed berry, strawberry rubarb. They are individual servings and homemade - delivered to Gifford's each morning. BE AWARE - NOthing to drink on site except the hiker's water fountain outside. There are lots of jams and salsas for sell too.

The pies! Some of the best pies we've ever had. Just amazing. They sell out quickly, seems like around lunch time, so plan to buy them on your way into the park in the morning. These were so good, we stopped by again just to get some more pies. It seems they've raised the price a bit, about $7.50 per pie if I remember. We tried most of the pies with our group. The favorite pies were definitely Mixed berry and Cherry. These were both delicious. Peach and apple were good. Strawberry rhubarb was just ok. The store sells a lot of other syrups and jams as well, which I'm sure are delicious.

Really cute gift shop with pies and ice cream! You must try both!! They have a nice grassy sitting area outside. Such a great place to go for an afternoon refresher. Apparent it’s not open all year but we were there in June and it was open! They do run out of pies before the end of the day so make sure to go by sooner =]

This small little estate is just beyond the visitor center at Capitol Reef national Park. I had heard about it on a podcast so I decided to stop in and check it out. The podcasters raved about the pie so that was my original goal. But once you get inside there's plenty of other items to take home. I ended up taking home some gala, apple preserves and a basil and tomato soup in addition to four different flavored pies. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area and at least trying one of the pies.

Is it a tourist trap? Maybe. Is it still worth it? YES! try the mixed berry pie! Make sure to stop in on your way into the park so you get the full selection, don't wait until the end of the day. They also have specialty jams, salsas, and some gifts.
