Nice hotel upmarket of the standard choices. Room is on the small side. Good massage in the spa, awesome space.
Breakfast is served in adjacent restaurant (extra charge) with good options. However at 7am opening time, there are 30 people waiting for one waitress to serve them. Not ideal if you want to go hiking early. Suggestion would be to start offering breakfast at 6:45 so there are fewer people at once.

This place is GREAT! We left a "resort" nearby once we arrived there and found Red Sands. When I met Hector at the front desk and explained why we were a last-minute reservation, I knew we would be happy here. There were only a couple of available rooms. He showed me each. We ended up in a cathedral room - it was a bit larger and had a nice view of the hills, rock paths, horse, smores fire pit and it was close to the star gazing deck. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. Pool and hot tub are clean and have a garage door that opens up to a comfortable deck so you can sit in the hot tub and look at the hills with the open door. Nice touch. Games, books to borrow, great teas, just everything you'd want in a place to stay. PERFECT.

When we checked in Guillermo was super helpful and friendly, especially when he found out that my husband went to school in his hometown in Puerto Rico!
After check in, we enjoyed the pool, hot tub and out door area for some rest after hiking in the park. Then we decided to try the restaurant for the sake of convenience. We are so happy we did! My husband’s kabobs were delicious and my Quinoa bowl was fresh and well put together!
We did also enjoy breakfast in the restaurant. The omelet is large enough to share and so fresh and delicious.
Of course one of the reasons we chose the hotel is the location to Capitol Reef NP. It did not disappoint. It was so convenient to return at night after star gazing!

We had to skip some camping itinerary in Canyonlands due to risky weather, and made our way to Capitol Reef. We randomly pulled over in Torrey and saw a hotel room for less than half the price of another popular hotel chain.
The gentleman and lady at the front desk were very polite, and ended up upgrading our room to a spacious suite with a walk-in shower. We grabbed some food at the attached restaurant which was also stellar.
The room and bathroom is extremely clean with a cozy, modern design. We ended up booking a second night in the same room!
I'd highly recommend Red Sands Hotel and Spa. Overall it is fairly priced, clean, welcoming and has lovely amenities.

Awesome customer service from every employee I talked to. They helped me deal with a two night stay that was booked to third party for one night and through the hotel for the other. Ended up being a breeze. Thank you again. I have stayed here at this property multiple times and never had a bad stay. So if you want to know the best place to stay in Torrey this would be the spot.

Our family stayed here for two nights and it was a wonderful stay and conveniently located near Capitol Reef (about 25 mins). The staff was top notch; friendly, accommodating, and gracious. Staff was always smiling and polite; such a welcoming environment! The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and clean. There was a restaurant which we ate at one morning before heading out, delicious and filling. The property also offered a very nice pool and attached hot tub, as well as outdoor seating in various places on the property, which offered a comfortable place to unwind. Can’t say enough about this property, we loved our stay , we will return for sure when we visit again in the future. Thank you , 5 stars!

This place is not to be missed. The rooms are clean and comfortable with the best views!!! The lobby features a fireplace and library/games! The restaurant is so cute, the service was great, and the food was delicious! The pool opens to the outside, the outdoors features games, fire pit, a star deck, and, because it's pet friendly, a walking path. You would never know there were pets here. AND THE SPA IS ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR!!! They go above and beyond, taking us last minute and treating us like queens! Amy and Jenny are gems!

Our first night was not great. The air conditioner wasn't keeping the room cool and was so loud that I couldn't sleep. It sucked. The next day, we spoke to staff and they switched our room with an upgraded one. The air conditioner worked and the view was very pretty. They have put effort into making the grounds nice and the view from the pool indoor pool is a good one. We enjoyed breakfast in their restaurant. I would stay there again.

You won’t have any regrets when choosing to stay here. The grounds are beautiful, nice pool, fire pit, garden, incredible views and a horse, cows and ducks to look at :)
The food at the restaurant was good too.

Great place all around
Clean rooms
Pool and hot tub were nice
Back door slides open by the pool for outside exposure and a nice big fire pit.
Staff was exceptionally nice and caring. I believe Anthony was his name but extremely nice young man and the front desk. Very helpful.
Highly recommended

The views are fantastic and the outside area is really nice. Check in was quick and easy. Enjoyed the hot tub. We had our labradoodle so we stayed in a pet friendly room. Everything looked nice and clean, but the room smelled like dog and wasn’t very updated, so it felt a bit overpriced. I expect it’s different if you’re staying in a pet free room though. It seems very family friendly. We could hear kids running around the floor above us in the morning, but I expect this is not an issue if you’re an early riser, or visiting not in summer.

I felt it was a bit overpriced. Payed $200 for one night. It was late, around midnight when we ended up needing to find a hotel. We were camping and needed to get out of a storm so I am glad they had late check in. The photos online made it look amazing and I was willing to pay that price based off of them. But in reality it was quite underwhelming and didn’t look like the photos. It felt worn and a bit outdated. Things like the elevator took forever and was a bit scary. The carpet down the hall looked water stained and was loose and bubbling up.
The rooms were fairly decent but again had things that took the standard down. Random screws in the walls, electrical outlet missing the cover, very small tv, and ugly plastic plants. Little things like that can make a big difference.
The room was fairly clean, again little things like garbage behind the tv, hard water build up on faucets and shower head, dirty hand soap bottle, crap on the tv remote, a stained hand towel.
The air conditioning worked wonderful but it looked a bit dusty in it. I am glad that the AC was a bit louder to help mask all of the noise going on outside of the room. There didn’t appear it be very many other guests but in the morning hearing other rooms turning on and off their water, people talking and slamming car doors, there wasn’t a lot of traffic on the highway but it was LOUD, housekeeping vacuuming.
There is no breakfast included.
The pool is tiny.
They have signs in the room about low water flow and to be careful about the toilet getting “congested.” There is a plunger in the bathroom.
The thing that frustrated me the most though, was the dark sky/ star viewing area. I thought how cool. I quietly went to check it out when the clouds parted for a bit. To see if I could spot at least one meteor during the meteor shower. It’s a nice little sitting area to look at the stars but the whole side of the building has like 5 bright lights down it. Ummm what? It totally makes trying to look at the stars useless. Why would you do that? I don’t understand.
Overall I am pretty disappointed that I payed so much for what I felt was below standard for that price.
Edit, changing review to one star based off of owners response. Clearly shows to me that they really don’t care. Would have been willing to go up in rating had I received a genuine response of care and concern for them to do better.

Red sands hotel was a great place to stay while visiting capital reef and fish lake this past weekend! The rooms were comfortable and clean. Grabbing some of the lobby's coffee and hot chocolate and hanging out around the outdoor fire pit, the patio, pool, and hot tub were an added bonus after a long day out and about. They also have books and boardgames!
Would highly recommend for those in need of accommodations in the area!

Cold reception. Not much effort to explain how the hotel works.
The rooms are very good.
Pleasant environment with mountain views and the ranch next door with animals.
No breakfast. It's the attached restaurant and it's a little expensive.
Very nice swimming pool
