Needed for our local community. Saves us from driving even farther for supplies. Always quiet in there, but likely they have what you need. Thank you!

Rude. No one in store except one woman sitting at counter. I see why.
Inquired about tightening a particular screw on a piece of equipment. She said I could buy a set of wrenches. I've done things like this before and just offered a saw buck but we never got past, "no, I'm in the business of selling stuff." She went back to reading.
Well, I'm not in business but I do write reviews. Good and bad.

Super friendly and attentive. If you complain about prices, pack better next time or shop earlier. I have no problem supporting small town off the beaten path businesses! Thanks for stocking cooking stove butane.

A lot of places in Utah honor their military/first responders with a military discount. This store is run by an old grumpy vet who mocks military members for asking for a discount in a disparaging manner in front of other customers. Don’t support this business if you believe in customer service and supporting today’s military members. I’ll never be returning here after this man’s pathetic attempts to demean active duty military members. It’s also extremely overpriced but I’m willing to overlook that to help out a run down store like this. But I now see why the other customers avoid this place like the plague.

Zero Stars if it would have allowed it - My husband was treated very rudely by a man he assumed was the owner. He had purchased a propane regulator for our RV and the lady who sold it to him said it would work for RVs even though it showed only for gas grills. That didn't seem right to my husband, but he purchased the part and asked if he could return it if it didn't work and was told "yes". He soon found out that the part would not work because it wasn't appropriate for an RV and found the correct part at another store. He returned this unused part in the same afternoon. Although he had a receipt, the man told my husband that a receipt didn't mean anything to him and accused him of lying about purchasing the part there. He went to look up the transacion from earlier in the day and found that my husband was not lying. He reluctantly and rudely issued him a credit, but didn't want to provide a receipt. My husband insisted and was finally given a receipt for the credit and said that the man was the rudest person he has ever encountered in a place of business.

This place was awesome! They got a little bit of everything you need and could want. Prices were great... not over priced like other places. Owners dad was super friendly

While visiting Tropic we needed some materials for a project we needed to do while here. The store had most of the materials we needed. The attractive women there was cordial and helped us find what we needed. The next day when we returned to purchase more materials she was not there. In her place was a man who wouldn't reply to our greeting and our good bye. Not a thank you or a reply to our Goodbye. Seemed as though he couldn't care less if we patronized his store. He did not respond to other customers who entered and said hello to him either. Communication with your customers I's vital to having a successful business. I guess since he was the only hardware store in town he didn't need to be cordial to his customers.

Don't bother giving this establishment any of your business or money. We were just passing through Tropic and our RV's bathroom door knob ended up breaking. Instead of waiting to get to a larger chain, we thought supporting a local establishment would be better. Turns out the door knob that we got didn't fit our door and we tried exchanging it for the only other option they had. Upon returning to the store, we didn't get a greeting (like the first time we came in either) and he (I'm assuming the business owner) wouldn't exchange it solely based on the fact that he knew we opened it and didn't fit. No damage was on the package nor was there any seal that was broken to take it out. He just didn't want to and when I simply said nothing was different with the packaging, he started yelling at me, "Would you buy an open package?" As if other customers would know someone purchased it in the first place? No logic. But he's rude, unprofessional and clearly doesn't know the first thing about customer service.

The gentleman at the counter was very unfriendly and rude. We were looking for a number of items and when my wife asked for assistance in locating an item he seemed very put out. When we checked out he didn't say a word even when we wished him a nice day. We noticed that this entire area did not enforce the mask wearing requirement and that half or more of the locals did not wear masks despite signs on the door informing of the requirement. We wore our masks and this may have been why we received the cold shoulder. The store itself was small but had what we needed.

This is October 2020 and Utah has one of the highest percapita rates of covid-19 in the USA. Garfield County is high on that list of percapita covid-19 The person behind the counter was a real sour-puss and unhelpful. He was too busy griping and moaning about liberals with another customer to help us find what we needed. Neither he nor his only other customer wore a mask. STAY AWAY from this establishment until covid-19 is under control or the state of Utah mandates masks to be worn in public.

The owner of this store is shockingly rude. I walked out - I don't need to purchase something from a person who treats his customers the way this man does. Astonishing that he can remain in business.

Everyone small town needs one. Perfect for travelers who need a part of tool on their journey and cannot find it casually in the typical gas stations or stores on the back highways. A friend indeed.

The service here is some of the worst I've seen, I visited several times and it varies from Hadley helpful, angry to literally no words spoken to me at all. Selection is also so so. Do yourself a favor and hit up the hardware store in Escalante, far far better service, selection and inventory.
