“Beautiful Location, Exceptional Service — But Overpriced

Under Canvas Zion is absolutely beautiful, and the property itself is clean, peaceful, and surrounded by incredible scenery. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the customer service was truly A+.

A special shout-out to Reese, who was spectacular and genuinely made our stay better. Reese went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and was one of the highlights of our experience.

That said, for the price, I unfortunately don’t feel the stay was worth it. Our suite was around $1,000 per night, and at that price point, I expected significantly more amenities and comfort. There was no Wi-Fi, no tea/ coffee/ water and no actual cooling system, and only misting for cooling, which made it difficult to justify the premium price—especially during warmer weather.

The concept and location are wonderful, and I understand that glamping is meant to be a more rustic experience. However, when you’re paying close to $1,000 a night, I would expect some additional amenities and comforts to match that price.

Overall, the property is gorgeous, the staff is wonderful, and the cleanliness is excellent, but the value for the money just wasn’t there for me. I would love to see Under Canvas offer a few more amenities and comforts to make the experience feel more deserving of the top-tier price”

“Absolutely amazing stay at Gooseberry Lodges! We booked super last-minute for Labor Day weekend as a quick Zion getaway with our dogs, and it couldn’t have been better. The cabins were cozy and spotless, and the communal bathrooms/showers blew me away—they were unbelievably clean. (I usually stick with Marriotts, so I was skeptical at first, but honestly, these were just as good if not better.)

Each cabin has its own fire pit, and the front office has everything you could possibly need—s’mores kits, firewood, fire starters, skewers, and tons of snacks. The dogs loved it, we loved it, and the night sky was the cherry on top. The stars were unreal—so clear and bright.

Best part? It’s only about 25–30 minutes outside of Zion, so you get the convenience without the chaos.”

“Just wrapped up a 4 day stay here and the place is great. The homes are pretty new and have everything you need and the views are obviously great. Feels way more private than a hotel since you have your own little home. Having River Rock right next door for coffee/food/beer is also a great plus. No onsite staff but you can text them with questions and they respond right away.

Was nervous about some negative reviews involving sulfur smell and noisy traffic. I could smell the sulfur for about 20 minutes one morning and then never smelt it again. You are right along a main road but the traffic noise is no different than any home/apartment I’ve ever lived in. It’s not noticeable unless you’re sitting there in silence listening for it; it’s about the same volume as the AC unit in the room.”

“It was very clean and very well maintained and at a wonderful price. As long as those standards are maintained, we'll be staying here everytime we're in town. It was also incredibly quiet, which was a huge plus! My only complaint is I wish there were blackout curtains, too much ambient light for my tastes, but I'll just bring a sleep mask next time. The remote didn't have a volume control or mute on it, so we just chose not to watch TV, but not a big deal to us.”

“We had an injury happen at Bryce Canyon two days prior to our stay that required a hospital stay and La Quinta Inn & Suites was very accommodating. We needed to cancel one of our rooms because of the injury and they were more then willing to work with us and glad to help; even after the cancellation period. On top of that, they extended my checkout so we weren't stranded any longer than needed to until our family member was discharged from the hospital and we could get him to our next destination. Rooms were clean and taken care of. Staff was very friendly. Thank you La Quinta Inn & Suites for making this stressful situation a little bit easier. We really appreciated it!”

“This hotel is probably the best Best Western hotel I have ever stayed in.A few weeks ago,I stayed here for 3 days.The staff at the front desk were super friendly and kind and made check in stress-free and easy.Our room was spacious and very clean.They have great breakfast,a pool,extra parking,and great value.I would definitely stay here again.”
