I had Jay and this company move a piano from Lehi in early 2023. I'll give him a bonus for matching the price of a piano moving company in Ogden. BUT varnish was chipped off of the piano in transit (in a closed trailer). Never mind the 3-4 young kids that moved the piano (14-18yo?), they at least notified Jay when they arrived. He gave me a guarantee that they he would be able to fix the 2 in by 1 inch chip. After many delays on a text and waiting for him to get back as he said he would on a phone call, he doesn't seem to remember the incident now, and is not even attempting to remedy the issue.
I regret using this company.
If you need a piano moved look elsewhere.

I don't usually post reviews but I thought I needed to on this one. First of all this company doesn't use any moving equipment. They just use 3 or 4 strong kids to move things. We had them move a 1200 lb safe and they weren't careful. They just laid it down in the back of a enclosed trailer with one blanket in the middle. Then they lifted it up on its top on the wood floor of the trailer. It ended up getting really scratched. He said he was ordering paint and would come fix it but I never heard from him again.

I haven’t ever written a bad review but i feel others should be aware. We were very disappointed with our move with Manpower movers. We were a little worried when 5 high school boys showed up. We were never told it would be just teenagers or we never would have gone with them. The company claims to be professional piano and safe movers. We had a safe, piano, freezer, fridge, along with other heavy things. We don ‘t feel high school kids are “professionals” at moving these things. The boys that helped us were kind, very strong and hard workers. But we still felt we had to supervise them, especially on the big heavy items. We were also worried about their safety. When I had first called, I sent a list of what we needed moved. We had no couches, only 2 beds, no boxes. The owner thought it would take about 2 hours. It took 5! They charge by the hour. They didn’t have the right equipment for the job. When we bought our safe, a different mover moved our safe in. He had a special dolly for moving safes. Only one or 2 guys moved it in downstairs, without any struggle. These boys struggled with 5 of them. They had to go slow with it on a board, dragging it down our stairs which were covered with plastic. It ripped through the plastic and left black marks on the stairs. Thankfully I was able to scrub the marks out. We were so glad we decided to change and have our piano upstairs. We do not blame the boys at all. They were great. We just felt they should have a professional adult to at least supervise. We would not recommend Manpower moving, unless you have a written agreement on cost beforehand and unless you know you will have an adult that has the right equipment and really knows how to move, pianos and safes.

Had a HORRIBLE experience with this company! Jay gave me the quote over the phone for 4 men @ $225 an hour plus $1.50 mileage from Logan to Tremonton. Move was scheduled at 3:30 PM . The guys showed up 45 minutes late at 4:15, which he called to let me know and said they might be 15 minutes late. When they arrived there were only two men with a smallish trailer. The other two left to go get a uhaul and said they would be back in an hour. I called him right away and he assured me I wasn't being charged for 4 men. I helped the two boys load all my boxes to make it go faster. We finished loading the trailer at 5:30 PM. Still no uhaul for another 30 minutes. When the other two boys arrived we got the rest of the furniture loaded in about 30 minutes. we arrived in Tremonton at 7 PM where the guy driving the uhaul backed into my dad's garage....Not sure where he thought he was going...unloaded everything in about 45 minutes. It was a very stressful afternoon/evening as moving usually is. When one of his men gave me the amount, I paid in cash and even tipped the 4 men. After they left I got to thinking it seemed very high and didn't make sense when I broke down the time. I requested an invoice from Jay including the breakdown of my move and he said he was on a plane and remind him Monday. I reminded him on Monday no response..I text again that Friday now a week past my move and he asks for my email. two days later I received an invoice that is higher and not correct from what I paid, and it did not include the breakdown that I specifically requested either...When I messaged him about that and gave him my breakdown he said he needed to get with one of the boys from the move that he figured the cost...But this is his business and he lets kids figure out the cost, sure ok....Anyway, three days later still no response and I message him again upset as you can imagine. He messages me back and says he sent me an invoice,( which was incorrect!) And if I was unhappy, why did I pay and tip the boys?? I told him the boys worked hard and so of course I tipped them and it was my mistake at the time to not ask for the breakdown. I called him at this point very upset and he tells me they left the office at 3:30 and got back at 8:45. So he's telling me the drive time is in the hourly cost.?? So this guy is charging me his hourly rate before the move even starts! And I'm sorry but it doesn't take 45 minutes to get from wellsville to my place in South Logan. It takes 15 minutes at most but this is how he's justifying his price...So he charged me mileage from logan to tremonton and back...why not charge me mileage from wellsville to my place??? But this is the only way he can justify the high price is to charge me for the so called 45 minutes to my house to pick my load up and 45 minutes back to logan after my move, on top of mileage! If you make the poor decision to use these guys get EVERYTHING in writing!!!!! Jay Leishman is a FRAUD

I share my experience in hopes it will help someone out there avoid a repeat experience. The recap: I texted a pic of my piano and described I'd need the piano moved down two porch steps and up a flight of stairs to an apartment, asking for a quote. The owner texted back that they'd do it for $200. I scheduled the move. They agreed to move a recliner for an additional $50. I was wary that I was texting a computer and expressed that, upon which I received a texted pic of who I thought would be moving my piano....an older gentleman with what seemed like a friendly, reassuring face. On moving day, two highschoolers showed up (maybe they were freshman in college? I didn't ask) and did a good job moving the piano and were kind. When it came time to venmo, they typed in the address in my phone and I checked with them, "$250, right?" The one boy looked at me and exclaimed, "Uh....$375, actually." I said, "Oh. He texted me that it's $250," and he said, "Uh, let me try to get ahold of him and ask," and I said, "Great. I will too." The owner was not responsive to the high schooler's call nor my texting, and I could see on venmo he had refunded something to someone in the past, so when the highschooler said, "Just pay the $375 and then he'll get with you and refund you," I complied (but felt wary). Jay Leishman (owner?) eventually responded to my text inquiry. He claimed I'd lied to him about the size of the piano (even though I'd clearly texted the picture and correctly given the height). He claimed I'd lied about the amount of stairs, though I hadn't. His texts felt rude and I got no sense that he felt any responsibility to honor his bid. I offered the option of at least meeting halfway on the difference between what I paid and the bid (him refunding my $62.50). He wouldn't. I asked him to refund the $125 so that he only collected on what he bid. He wouldn't. He texted at the end that 10 stairs equals a flight, and that's why he charged $100 more than the bid (though he never asked how many stairs in the initial bid, but gave me the bid based on my stating it was a flight of stairs). He still never clarified where the extra $25 charge was justified (even with the $100 extra, supposedly, that still would have been only $350). Maybe he thinks the discrepancy in piano height was $25 more (he claimed I said it was waist high, even though my picture and text says chest high). I hope the details of my experience help you make an informed decision about whether to engage with Jay Leishman and manpower moving or whether to go with a company that will act with integrity, kindness, respect and professionalism on all fronts. Jay, if you're reading this, I think my experience would have been improved had you #1) asked detailed questions on your end in order to give me an accurate bid (e.g. stated that "a flight of stairs is 10 stairs. How many stairs are included in the move?). #2) The high schoolers should be trained to tell the customers, "Pay whatever he texted you in the initial bid," rather than telling the customer to pay an inflated charge without explanation or justification and then falsely claim to the customer that they'll be refunded. #3) I think someone trained in customer service and kindness should be the one handling the texts on the front line and on the back end as well. In the end, I wish everyone the best, I'm grateful for the hard work and kindness of the 2 high school boys, and I hope this account proves useful to those who consider it.

We hired Manpower Moving Company to move heavy furniture from Lewiston, UT to Wellsville, UT. I called and left a voicemail and received a call back within an hour. After that, most of our communication was done via text and my texts were always answered in a timely manner. I also received a follow-up phone call the evening before our move–which I appreciated! The day of our move, four young men showed up to move our furniture. They were respectful, kind, and worked together as an impressive team! They were strong and enthusiastic and seemed to have a good attitude about the task at hand. We were blown away by how quickly they had our furniture safely loaded into the truck and were on their way to Wellsville!Once in Wellsville, they unloaded their truck in no time at all and hauled our items to the different rooms that we requested. Also, we had a very heavy bedroom set that had to be moved to the basement and no harm was done to any of our furniture or our home. They also reassembled the furniture that had to be taken apart to be transported. We were extremely pleased with our experience with Manpower Moving Company, definitely recommend this company and will use them again if we ever have any heavy moving needs again!

I would 100% agree with the other 1-star ratings. The kids that came to move were great and kind. But being charged $165 for their drive time to my home was ridiculous and absolutely excessive. My move was a piano, a couple couches, washer & dryer, stove, and treadmill one block between homes. I wish I would have read these reviews before just stopping with the first one. Would definitely NOT recommend this company--not impressed at all with the owner. He is rude and unprofessional.

P.D. FarrThis company is anything but professional. Showed up half hour late in a rented moving van, no blankets no dollies or hand truck. Three young guys, only one with any moving experience. Thus constant conferences to determine how to load the truck. Which led to repeated unloading and reloading. The owner brought blankets after the truck was half loaded and acted like that made everything Ck. I have some nice furniture that was either scratched dented or marred in some way. The owner is brash and his only concern is how much money he can make. I have used other movers and this company is by far the worst. Buyer beware.

Update (5/2023): I used them again a few weeks ago and didn't have as good as an experience this time around...-Communication wasn't very clear or timely and I was expecting them on a day they had no intention of coming and never communicated this.-They charged me $15 to pay with a credit card but didn't inform me about this in advance, so my charge came back $15 higher than I was expecting. When I asked why, they said they'd refund it, but they haven't yet.Otherwise, the piano was moved without damage for a reasonable price (except the credit card charge).Original review (8/2019): Excellent service! They were communicative, gracious, understanding, and unnecessarily fair in their pricing.

After using another moving company and being so disappointed, we used Manpower moving company to move our consol piano.I appreciated that they had the right equipment and understood how to care for our piano! It was just 2 strong guys but the be right equipment makes all the difference. It was definitely an easier piano move as the piano was only up 4 steps and into the main entry but they did it well.I really appreciated the attention to detail, Connor ensured on his phone that he knew right where to go to get to our house. He made sure everything was tied down right and that the wood and lid were protected.I wish we had hired this company before!

They brought in a 650 lb safe up a flight of stairs through the house and down 12 stairs to the basement. No damage to my walls. They were very patient and put alot of thought into moving the safe without damaging anything, This was not any easy move. Definitely would call them again.

These guys are professional to the utmost and so very kind. They were able to help me out on last minute notice and left the piano in pristine condition. Can’t recommend enough.
