Ariel at the pro desk is the only reason I keep my business at this location. She is prompt, proactive, extremely helpful, and communicates. This store’s lack of tool and vehicle rentals, reduced stock on shelf (vs having to buy online), and frequently damaged goods in-store have been a real complication for me the last year. I would post a 2-star if not for the amazing Pro Desk staff.

Terrible customer experience. Drove here to grab ONE item just to have the door closed on us at 850pm when the store closes at 9pm. The worker saw us approaching the doors and waved a “closed” signal at us 10min prior to their closing time. Extremely disappointed as we were only grabbing one item. Business lost for them I suppose. Workers should abide by their hours and not be closing the doors early.

Worst home depot I've ever dealt with ,total morons ,if you can find one ,and of you do ,they act like they're doing you a favor ,the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing ,if it's doing anything, it's probably asleep ?
It's totally amazing between this store and Saratoga, I'll never go to this Bennington store again

Horrible experience. I needed a tool from the locked area. The first person I asked rudely told me to ask someone else. I waited for the next person to be available, and he was quite rude as well. Asking if I knew where it was in the locked cabinet, (uh-no of course I didn’t) and then proceeded to try to sell me a different tool claiming it was just a better version (it was a completely different tool) but the salesman either didn’t know that or assumed I was stupid. He also offered a $50 off if I mentioned to the cashier that he okayed it (when there were $50 off signs all in the store). Like he was doing me a favor ? I felt like he just was trying to get rid of me so I took the tool and gave it back to the checkout person - who was also super rude. I left in complete disgust and drive to the Home Depot in Rutland- where everyone was amazing. So is the staff at Bennington misogynistic or simply rude? I don’t know but I won’t be back.

Needed 4x8 sheet of underlayment and have it cut. The associate told me she didn't want to lose her job so the only cut she could make to the board was in half to fit it in my car otherwise buy the smaller sheets. She was half way sleep hanging around the aisles hiding. What great suggestions ... the aisle was dirty and this was the first hour they opened .. great experience

Made an appointment with their contractor to come out and give me a quote on a heat pump and he never showed up. No call or text to explain. I took time out of my work day for this too.

Do not buy major appliances from this store! Dishwasher nightmare! We purchased a dishwasher. At the time of purchase, we paid an extra $50 to have the delivery truck take away the old dishwasher, and were provided a contract stating HD would complete a basic hookup (not a full install into the cabinet) before departing with the old machine. We were given 30 minutes warning for an 8AM drop off. My elderly father was home alone, and the delivery men took advantage of him. They dropped off the new dishwasher, and left it sitting in the middle of the hallway that serves as a fire egress lane for his bedroom. They didn’t take the old machine, an additional service fee we paid for at time of purchase, nor did they do the basic hookup (electric and water) that is included per Home Depot’s contract. Now we’re stuck with a dishwasher in the middle of a hallway and the old broken machine still in the kitchen.Neither of us are physically capable of lifting a dishwasher. There are two one-step step downs that two strong people could easily navigate, but not us.The salesman in the appliance department at Home Depot personally assured us that the delivery guys would remove the old dishwasher for the paid fee. But when they got here, they claimed that Vermont law prevents them from doing any installation (despite the contract Home Depot supplied at time of purchase), and simply ignored the removal service contract.Buy from a real appliance shop. Don’t trust the written word of this Home Depot - they clearly have no issue violating signed contracts and taking advantage of their customers. In short - direct lies from the store, breach of contract, and virtually zero heads up that they were on the way has made this an absolutely horrible experience. See picture for dishwasher just left in the hallway. What should have been simple has become a disaster. Avoid this HD at all costs.
